    Hi Michael,
    This is super helpful. I wondered if it’s possible to do this for one item in a list rather than the whole list?
    And if so how I would do that?

  • @deepermindfulness
    @deepermindfulness ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you. Very much appreciated this one. We'll done. Been on my to do list. You make it look too easy. It would really help to see how you use a distribution list for the recipients.
    Something else, as I work in other systems and the recipients are in one spreadsheet and the dates are in another spreadsheet held in a Sharepoint folder, it would be great to see an example of pointing the flow to look for the two spreadsheets in a folder. Thank you. All the best.

    • @michaelalex2322
      @michaelalex2322  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. You could do that with a Flow, but I think it would be a lot easier to combine the spreadsheets and go from there.

    • @deepermindfulness
      @deepermindfulness ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Michael. We do lots of training courses and just an extract from the registration system to the folder would be perfect. In the spreadsheet you would pick up course type and select that folder with the email templates for that course type.

    Been struggling with this forever. Making scheduled flows based on calculated columns just wont work. I will try your way. Is there an updated version of this. Would love to see it. I have a calculated column that is just a date dd/mm/yyyy and i want to send reminders 20 days before that calculated date. I havent got it to work. The flow actually tried to run and has no sent me over 1000 emails and then 1000 failed reminder emails . A nightmare

    • @TreyJ34

      Fixed: So this error happens when the date of the list is empty. It will still run and correctly send you the emails for dates listed but once you put all the dates in then it will fix this. This is perfect. Thank you for such a clear and great video. You have earned a subscriber

    Nice job! For the time zone conversion, there's actually a "convertFromUtc" expression in Power Automate that could save you a few characters there. Also, you could use an oData filter in the Get items expression to eliminate the need for the condition. Filtering dates can be a little tricky, and I don't think you can filter on a calculated column, so you'd need to rethink that part. I learned a LOT about this sort of process by dissecting a "Send a reminder" flow on a SharePoint list.

      I am really green when it comes to Power Automate, but is there a way to send emails based upon a calculated column? I am trying to send a New Hire Evaluation to the Manager of the New hire every 30 days within their first 6 months. I enter the start date and the other dates are calculated. Does that make sense?

    • @cvkealey
      @cvkealey ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrisw2445 You actually could do this without any calculated columns, just the Start date. Basically, you'd have a scheduled flow that runs once a day and checks for any entries where start date is [current-date]-180 days, [current-date]-150 days, etc.

    • @michaelalex2322
      @michaelalex2322  ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have multiple people in your person field. Since that is an array it would put it into an "Apply to each" since each there are multiple people.

      Log the completed exam date in a Date Field in SharePoint. The make a daily scheduled Flow to go through each SharePoint item. Use a compose to addDays() to the completed date. If today's date is greater than the completed date + 10, then send an email.
