- Well had to get my fix......even when it's blowing really hard that's the beauty of town quay you can still fish it all be it your casting is a bit compromised with 40 plus mph winds blowing straight in your face fish are still to be caught having a car in those conditions is a bonus...
Last minute decision to go no worms just mackerel and squid so I knew things would be slightly tougher than usual
I decided to take my Century T1000s and Daiwa Hyperspeeds and that was a decision I certainly did need it.....
Fishing was going to be tough but perseverance will pay off and it certainly did I'm so glad I had my heavier rods and heavier rigs and Sakuma Manta Extras because lifting a 7lb 10oz thornback up and Over is no mean feat and luckily everything held if I had hooked on any other of my rigs I just don't think I would of done it

Well done matey, fished TQ loads and haven't seen a ray come up so nice work! Top angling landing that on your own, I caught my 1st pier ray last week and it wasn't easy to handle 😂

Nice one, I haven't fished Town Quay for 30 years but I think you'd need a drop net there, I'd hate to loose a really good fish because I didn't have one

30yrs is a long time bet it's changed compared to 30yrs ago........

That was an epic lift thank god I had me Century T1000s and my heavier rigs wasn't sure I could of got away with it and my Sakuma Manta Extras held perfectly YEHA LOL 🤣

They haven't stopped fishing yet but give it time yes you have to pay and they are hot on parking so pay more than you have to a minute over and its £100 fine 😒
