I just got the 2022 ST and I LOVE it. It's an absolute beast and with all the tech, makes it so comfortable and easy to drive. Had a snowstorm by me recently and it was no issue driving. Blasted through snow pop piles, up snow covered hills with no issue. Very happy with this truck.
"MAJOR SNOW STORM"...or as we would say in Norway; a couple of snowflakes in the air. 😂 Can't wait to test my new Explorer in winter here when it arrives in a few weeks. I guess its a good sign it does that well on all season tires, I'm sure it will be pretty awesome on proper nordic winters tires. 😁

My 2020 explorer st with the 21 factory tires do a awesome job in the snow. It drives better on the snow than my 13 f150 4x4 or my 16 f250 4x4. The awd is a work of art!!! Great job Ford!! I'm totally impressed!!

I just looked at the ST after driving to work in the slush and road salt and this car does a good job of keeping the salt off the side of the vehicle. Of course everyone is driving slow.

I live in Colorado and have a 2021 ST coming - goodbye F-350 Super Duty 4WD. We usually switch tires for winter but I haven't found any winter tires in the 275/45/21 size so I've ordered König K-Summit tire chains.
Everyone is always worried about traction while accelerating in the snow, but it's turning or braking hard that's going to get you in an accident. Don't use summer tires in the snow they suck no matter how good your awd system is. Only accident in my life I couldn't stop while coming down an icy hill. Never an issue since switching to winters. I dunno where you live though, it could be rare and thus hard to justify the hassle of switching.
My experience with my 22 is the tires are absolutely atrocious in snow and there are pretty much zero options in 21" for snow tires. I am buying all new 19" wheels and tires to get some better traction. If I had known how bad this car would be in snow I would have bought something else especially now that I'm going to be 2k poorer after the new wheels.
