Deflated. Infuriated. Fed up of hearing the same old excuses. Too many games, City have the same number of games and they're managing. The problem is the squad quality isn't as good as theirs, we need to invest in the right areas. We need a centre back, a better holding midfielder than Fred, Matic & McTominay, (all average - not one would get in the city team), a right winger and a striker. Plus if Pogba decides to go then another creative midfielder. All too often United get our hopes up then the reality train comes crashing in to us to remind us that this team are too inconsistent
I'll be happy with one great CDM. Greenwood is good on the right, Van De Beek will take Pogba's place. The CBs will be better with a decent CDM

As a fellow Utd fan, I would suggest that too many Utd fans seem to base their opinion and evaluation of the team on media reporting and punditry which is always inflated when it comes to Utd. Any hope of Utd winning the title this term for example was never based on any objective analysis of how good this team is but rather on the hope that this was enough of a topsy turvy season to allow even an average side to win it. Don’t get me wrong, there are fair criticism to be made of both Ole and this team but it’s never as bad as media, esp espn, would have us believe. Too many of us have lost perspective and some much needed patience. You accurately identified the gap in quality - so with that in mind how/why are you so disappointed with what Ole has been able to get out of this squad?

Being second in the table doesn't show progress. You're measured by your style of football and ultimately trophies. Take Bruno Fernandes out of that squad and they will be horribly average.
I kinda agree with what he's saying about cup winning , apart from the premiership. Ole has done very well with his experience. Man u are second in the league , second to a team who has unlimited money. Man u need more depth in their squad , the defence is hit and miss and lack creativity upfront. Let's talk about it after the season and see where they are then. A lot of the young colts and players need a some coaching and help in order to take their game to next level. I'm referring to someone like Rene Muelensteen (who shaped Rooney and Ronaldo's finishing along with drilling Evra and Rio) who is sorely needed. If Ole and Mike Phelan were part of the backroom staff with a quality figure-head manager.

1. The team is better than a lot of squads in the league player for player. I would say top 2 or 3 best team player for player - This player blame is ridiculous especially when players leave the club and do better ALWAYS
2. The board are not on the pitch and have provided funds wether you like them or not
3. Ole has spent £300million on this squad and the majority are his players
4. The squad plays how the manager wants them to play not how they want to play - If they are playing how they want to play then it's up to the manager to change that
5. Motivating a squad is in two parts the players drive and the manager's management skills
6. The defense problem is a case of the tactics and not the players entirely - you can't play a counter-attack system AND play from the back with a midfield that is not defensive enough
7. The players in defense that are doing the worst are the player Ole bought - The ones doing the best came from previous regimes. Luke Shaw Lindelof, Bailly. It all boils down to tactics though.
8. The team doesn't create opportunities and strikers feed off scrap unless they create their own goal. The majority of strikers in the league get above 15 touches per game and at least 2 opportunities all United strikers get less. No chances created equates to bad tactics. Again this is not about the player because other teams are creating more
9. Man united are individual reliant so when individuals are out the team suffers..Pogba. Teams like City, Chelsea, Everton, West Ham, Leicester, Tottenham, Liverpool are tactic reliant so when players leave the way the team plays doesn't change. barring multiple injuries.
10. Ole has said countless times that he is happy with his squad and also is pro Glazers and wants us to all "come together" as a club- how do you support Ole and hate the Glazers when he is a glazer man? How do you say he needs more players when he says himself he is happy with the squad and has been backed?

The team is lacking...Ole's overall done a good job IMO but he needs players...we DESPERATELY need a new CDM so we can stop playing this double pivot with Fred/McTominay. It's garbage and neither of them are quality CDMs. McFred are both box to box players and would do much better with a real CDM in there. We also need a right winger big time and tbh we could really really use a fast CB to pair with Maguire.

It showed that by appointing an apprentice manager who probably comes at a cut price compared to well established managers and obviously provided savings after Mourinho was shown the door. Unfortunately Ole is tactically extremely limited and the club will never win anything of note for as long as he is there. United supporters laughed at Liverpool for not winning the EPL for 30 years, but we are well on the way to a losing streak like that ourselves. You don't win titles based on reputation and in any case the fear factor of playing United is now long gone, especially with Ole in charge.

It does come down to mentality and that starts from the top down. The statements from Woodward are even more worrying than Ole's. The owners of Man City, Real Madrid, Barça, Bayern, Juve and PSG expect to win and any manager who doesn't is immediately pinned to the wall. If Utd aren't that club anymore, that'll only spell disaster long term. Kids support the team that wins. Utd are losing a generation of fans, especially to Man City.
