Except a fingerprint scanner is actually a biometrics scanner that also takes into consideration blood flow and heat. Unlike face ID which uses an image that it has been algorithmicly placed into an assumed '3D space'. One isn't per say better than the other

Gelatin is made of a protein present in the tendons, ligaments, and tissues of mammals. It is produced by boiling the connective tissues, bones and skins of animals, usually cows and pigs.
I'm sure you can make some sort of jelly without gelatin but I wouldn't look it up because I don't want to make vegetarian jelly.

It would be pretty cool if you combined this experiment with the ocarina experiment to make glowing candy ocarinas. It would be EVEN cooler if you could make a candy ocarina that you could play, but, I feel like that might be too tall of an order.

That 2000 grit sandpaper is for wet sanding for cars to get the “fish eyes” out if you understand of fresh painted cars
Idea: take some of the glow in the dark water and apply it to the details on the stone so that those glow brighter and look more like the movie

You should be using food-grade silicone for your mold. They're usually rated up to 450 degree Fahrenheit, and you can pre-heat the mold to eliminate surface bubbling when you pour in your hot candy syrup.
