As we come to wrap on eagle here it’s pretty crazy. Wouldn’t guess this is the channels first big swing at TH-cam. Feels like one of the polished channels I’ve been watching for years. Can’t wait to see what’s next for the channel. Got Seagull and the Kart. I’m super invested in the kart. Would really like to see it end up being useable so i can copy the idea that works 😂
The cletus bump is one thing.Keeping everybody interested after that's the next part. Also I was watching. Deboss garage He did a video about a guy who built a seventy four mustang with A jaguar v twelve in it
Cleetus will have two rules for Jackstand. At all times, he must wear cotton gloves, and still, he won't be allowed closer than 4 feet from the car. Sam will have zero restrictions. 😂
@@guywy8310 It's just a certain type of humor I find especially funny, its semi common on tiktok. People will ask a question about what someone is doing/thinking/honestly anything, and they respond with a super dead pan look and single word response that's VERY obvious but also doesn't explain *anything*, such as "headlight" when clearly holding a headlight and fitting it to a car. tbh if you don't get it just from watching the video explaining it may not do anything, just might not be up your humor alley
You can tell Cj is genially a good dude and all those guys are lucky to have a chill guy like him for a boss. Hopefully they can all get their own little t shirts and make some money off the sales like garret does for his guys. That would get the guys happy to do the videos lol
Dude this build has EXPLODED your channel. With the quality of work you guys do over there is top notch. Started watching when you built Justin’s first Lexus
I figured power coating that chassis would add 4 to 5 pounds. I have painted a late 1990’s ProStock chassis that had been chemically stripped in a caustic soda tank and then sanded, primed, sealed, and painted and cleared with Imron and it added just under 3.5 pounds. That said I prefer paint over power coating on race cars because power coating when properly applied tends to hide cracks, splits, in the welded joints and the tubing.
I think NHRA will put a stop to powder coating eventually...maybe the thick ass hammered enamel too, 😆. I don't get it, these guys @ CJRC have nothing to hide! Like a 10 wearing a sweatshirt n baggy pants to the beach.
@@NonTypicalRacing I understand why people like powder coating. Simple put when properly applied powder coating is tougher than woodpecker lips and while urethane enamel is a durable finish it doesn’t hold a candle to powder coating. Hence why we see faux carbon fiber decals/stickers on door bars and front frame rails and other high wear areas. As for why a shop like CJRC who build what I call show-race cars it’s simple they want their cars to look as good sitting in the pits as they do going down the track.
@@NonTypicalRacing i agree the NHRA will probably stop allowing powder coated chassis, it can make it hard to see when a weld has cracked. Doesn't matter who built the chassis eventually all the stress will break something, just part of racing, thats why the certs have to be redone every 3 years for anything that runs faster than 10 seconds.

I really like what I see on this channel and I'd like to offer a little constructive criticism: The work done is so exquisite that I'd like to see more of it - more close-up camera-work, more stages of achieving a goal, more of your stunning craftsmanship - more footage of the car emerging from the fantastic skills and imaginations you guys have! Which would mean a little less talking as the focus - what is said is hugely informative, but I'd love to hear it over footage of the work. In any event, it's great to witness such rare skills - please don't hate me for wanting to see MORE!
Been watching this Build unfold as a Cleetus fan, I'll admit seeing it near completion is bitter sweet. CJ Racecars has done a killer job of each step, all the crew super informative.
It's great seeing everyone getting more comfortable on camera! You can see the videos getting better when we start seeing more of the great personalities coming out!
Yeah they really used this as a springboard to improve their on-line presence and I'm sure they'll see an uptick in business from their hard work paying off.
To fix damage on powder coat on chassis ,have your powder coater spray an extra piece of tubing . Then take that to paint supplier and have them match the color in paint . Then you can do touch ups as needed with airbrush or brush .
Only issue on powder coat as years go on it will hide any cracks from tire shake and then repairs are certainly more difficult. Looks sweet for sure !!👍
Love this series of videos. Hopefully, people will agree to let you film their cars being built, so you can have a continuing series like this. It's fun to follow along with the car being built from beginning to end.
Another exellent video. Thanks again for your commitment to covering this build. I wonder if Eagle's paint scheme will be similar to Consuela's? I think that would be a good choice and would match the gunmetal grey chassis. Let's go!
The push is on you guys got this I work heavy industrial construction this is the part of the job I love get more than a few grey hairs going through the process but man when you hit your date that feeling when you know you got this is worth as much or more than the car it’s self ifs work
That interior finish helps with sun glare on the dash too. We did that on our super late model and was a game changer when we were racing at sundown into the sun.
My bet is nardo grey for the body color. Was pretty close on the powdercoat, guessed 4.5lbs. Was pretty sure it wouldnt be much. I was hoping he would do the chassis in FF blue like the helicopter, would have really popped under a white body color.
paint's not as light as most people think depending on thickness and how many mill you apply it's equal to powder coat . a proper 4 mill coat of paint depending on the type of paint can be just as much as a layer of powder coat . even with that a layer of powder coat will out last any type of paint even mill spec hard shell paint

Looks like the powder coat guys need a bunch of ear plugs, corks, bushings, and stickers...to plug/cover areas they don't want powder coat, like the bolt holes...because you shouldn't have to use a Dremel to clear the powder coat out of it. They should have simply placed something in the holes before they did the powder coat. When I worked in powder coat we had about 4 sizes of ear plugs just to shove in holes where we didn't want powder coat...There were like 5 different sizes of bushings...and the corks fit in everything middle sized which the ear plugs or bushings were either too small/big for...and we had 2 different sizes of stickers...
@@ComplicatedStuff No because that leaves room for error and would likely take more time/effort. What if powder coat is accidentally removed around the hole instead of just in it? Plugging the holes doesn't allow for that chance. No going back and spraying something 3 times because it's difficult to manage the hose accurately. It leaves for too much variability in quality control. With the plugs, every hole will be exactly the same every time. With a vacuum too much is left to chance, wasting time with re-work.
