    Thanks for the video. I watched part 2 first. I love when others have issues so I can learn. Lol

    Good video, I loved watching you. I have had my 3HP PCS for 2 years and I am still using the original SS blade. It cuts cleanly and doesn't bog down with what I cut.

      Thanks for the positive feedback, it's very encouraging. I've been stressing out about not being charismatic enough for this.

    Thanks for the videos. I watched both. I’m awaiting my new SS PCS 3hp 36”. This video has been very helpful for when mine shows up. Definitely gonna need some horsepower to get her into the shop and onto the industrial base. Dandy videos. I’m also subscribed.

    Great video(s). Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but the reason the supplied push stick is somewhat pliable is, the more rigid push sticks are made of a different plastic that is prone to shattering when it comes in contact with the blade in certain ways, spraying plastic shrapnel all over the place. Wood is your best option, but the soft, foam-ended aftermarket push sticks work really well too, if you want to spend the $$$. Thanks also for the table-leveling/co-planar solution - that would drive me nuts, too. And by the way, what OCD REALLY means is, PUT THE DAMNED THING BACK WHERE IT BELONGS!, LOL. My 1.75 PCS is down in the shop right now; I only unboxed it enough to get to the manual so far. I'm in the middle of installing our new kitchen cabinets, and we can't order the granite until the lowers (and island) are installed & leveled, so that takes priority. Thanks again for the in-depth explanations of what you ran into - lots of peeps hide their mistakes, which makes their videos nothing but "fluff" pieces. Enjoy the saw.

      Thanks Tony. Good point about the push stick. I know that now, but didn't consider it then. I'm actually quite fond of it now, though I use a micro jig gripper more often than a push stick. I don't remember the OCD context from this video and maybe I mischaracterized it a bit, but I deal with it in a lot of other ways like being adamant about the exact positioning and location of things, counting in my head to a very specific number (25) for every little thing I do (steps walking, sanding strokes or buffing circles, counting down time, organizing things by amount, etc.), among other ways.

      Got the PCS 1.75 assembled & "tuned". Oddly, my tables all lined up pretty close to perfectly. I just snugged the bolts and tapped with a mallet in the places that needed tweaking. Didn't have to do the mod on the end wing adjustment screw. Biggest challenge was getting it off its side and onto the mobile base. Used a combination of Straps, Farm Jack (Hi-lift), and finally, some 2x4's as levers. Thanks Archimedes, LOL. Ironically, I sprained one of my fingers pretty badly trying to lift the saw enough to get the strap under it. So the saw I bought to protect my fingers...*sigh*. There's just no winning. Now I have to convert the miter bars on all of my (many) jigs & fixtures to fit the new saw.

    I watched the video this morning and I was very surprised how the smaller gauge extension cord affected the saw as much as it did. I only have a Craftsman partial cabinet saw that I've had for about 15 or more years. It still works great. I purchased a VEGA fence for it years ago with the 52 inch rails and the legs for the extension are very much like yours. I struggled with them for years, making terrible noises and jumping around every time I moved the saw until two days ago when I purchased some casters for the legs. My legs had 3/8-16 carriage bolts with rubber feet that measured 3 1/2 inches from the floor to the bottom of the legs. I purchased a pair of 3" casters with a 1" stem, and I can't believe the difference. The saw glides effortlessly with one hand with no noise or lifting of any kind. I don't know what took me so long. Anyway, Thanks for the video. If I ever am fortunate enough to have a saw like that, I will take into account the problem you experienced. Glad it was something so trivial.

      The ICS base that I have installed on this saw hydraulically lifts the whole thing up, including the extension legs, so I don't really have any issues with them when moving it around. That base is really expensive, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone who gets this saw. I almost didn't get it, because I thought I wouldn't move it around all that much, but I'm glad I did get it, because it turns out I do need to move it around a whole lot. I was also surprised by that cord gauge issue. It's a good thing it's specifically called out in the instructions, otherwise I wouldn't even have thought about it. If you get around to watching the first part of this video (unboxing and assembly of the saw), you'll see I also had a very frustrating problem getting the extension table to line up that required a unique fix. Thanks a lot for watching.

    I also live in the Southern California desert. I own a Sawstop Contractors saw. I'm thinking of upgrading to a Sawstop Professional saw running at 240 volts. My Contractor's saw with the 1.75 hp 120volt motor is fine during the winter, but in the summer shuts down after just a few cuts, it drives me crazy.

      Well howdy neighbor! That's weird. It shouldn't be doing that. Mine doesn't. I'd contact sawstop, they have very good customer service.

      Thanks! There are a few little peeves I have with it, and I'll probably do a quick 1 year review soon, but overall it's just an awesome tool.

    I liked your video. And subscribed. Like your presentation style. Id like to see a video on your dust collection system and watching u connect it to the SS

      I recently got a dedicated dust collector and will will be seeing it up and doing a video on it soon. Before that I used the rolling cart from a couple videos ago. It worked, but not great. I'll try to show the before and after set ups in the new video.

    I just my received my 3hp version of the PCS. Your video has been quite helpful. A question I wanted to ask was - what do you do for dust collection ? I am setting up my shop in the garage and am wondering how to get started with a simple dust collection system as my tool base grows (slowly)

    • @maverickdesignswoodworking
      @maverickdesignswoodworking  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I actually just did a video on the dust collection I used for years, but honestly, a shop vac doesn't cut it for this saw. I've had it clog up on me several times, once filling the whole cabinet up until it was coming out of the plate, which is what eventually made me get a full size dust collector.

    I want one of these saws, and it is great to know the extension cord gauge info :)

      I'm glad you got something out of it. I wanted one for a long time and watched a ton of videos on them myself before I got one, but that cord thing was still a surprise.

    What are the dimensions of the main table without the wings and the main base footprint? I want a saw for my basement shop and I don't have bulkhead doors and the basement stairs have finished walls and a right angle turn on the landing.

    Dude, thanks for the video, but you have a very expensive saw, and it's foolish not to buy a dial indicator to check the saw blade and fence.

    • @maverickdesignswoodworking
      @maverickdesignswoodworking  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did after a while, and it was perfect. I would expect no less from an expensive tool. I've been using table saws long enough that I would have known after a couple of cuts if it was off.

    Hopefully you ditched the Sawstop miter gauge for something more accurate.

    • @maverickdesignswoodworking
      @maverickdesignswoodworking  ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely plan to, but haven't yet. I've used it (the miter gauge) a couple times for stuff that wasn't critical, but haven't had a big need for it because I have a full miter station. I'll be doing some work coming up that I will likely need one for, but haven't decided which to get. Honestly, I've been thinking of giving the Banggood a try. I am also desperately needing to make a crosscut sled (and a few others). I'll definitely make videos for all that when I do.
