I swear, I can count the number of legacy evolution boxes I’ve seen on store shelves on my fingers. Half the places are still running Legacy wave 1. This is ridiculous.
That's not even my problem, my problem is stuff like Nemesis Lio Prime, and what not aren't selling so shelves are PACKED till they are falling over with those.
At my Walmart I've finally found a 86 spike witwicky in person.
@@DarthRakdos0805 yeah, legends class seems to be the only class immune from this stocking curse. I’ve seen nemesis prime, the dinobots, the pretenders, and Skywarp. But outside of that I’ve only seen twincast, Metalhawk, Bludgeon, Medix, and crashbar once each (except Metalhawk, seen a good number of him). IDK if it’s because the procurement people are just seeing “legacy” and not the subheader so they think there’s no point in getting new stuff, but this didn’t happen with Earthrise and Kingdom after Siege just because they were all WFC, so IDK.
@@rubiconprime1429 Well, the core class isn’t entirely immune. While I have started to see more spike figures, I’ve still yet to see 86 Rumble figures.
And for Legacy, they’re still a bit stuck on Igaunus. I also haven’t seen the core class Slag or Sludge figures either. I found Grimlock, Swoop, and Skarr, but Slag and Sludge should have been out before those three.
I speculate It's because everything is headed with legacy so regular store people think it's all the same thing
I'm officially a member of team "always read the instructions" and a firm enemy of the "puzzlebox" team. Too many times I've seen mistransformations, even for parts that should be obvious, and sometimes too there's a small feature you'd miss if you don't read them.
The instructions have been so bad lately that it's sometimes easier to just figure it out myself, and maybe look to it for reference on where stuff needs to end up. That part with armada prime's grill here, no way could that be deciphered from the instructions, that one I needed to see someone demonstrate and I was finally like, oh yeah, easier that what I was trying to do to shove it in the backpack.
yeah, i've had studio series rotf megatron for a while now and just found out why the alt mode was constantly crooked, if you go with the puzzlebox side you would have NEVER found out the knees are on a sliding rail.
Same, but mainly just to avoid breaking the figure. There have been several times where I applied way too much force on a specific joint than I should've, even when watching a transformation video. I can't imagine what would have happened to my figures if I just went in blind.
I used to have the old Armada Prime toy when I was a little boy and he was good, this newer version is an godsend to me that got my child self's heart racing. I'm really impressed with how he looks :o
It didn't hit me quite that hard, but when I did finally get it into combined mode, my chest felt lighter.
You can transform the back piece in combined mode differently to clean up the backpack and get more out of the waste joint.
I should have mentioned that I think it's better like this, since it's out of his way.
I won't lie, seeing the combined mode backpack like that hurt my soul because I do what the instructions say and let the missle kibble below his waist hang down and tabbed into itself so it doesn't make his back look absurd. Not a complaint, your toy, your choice, but wow that back is CHUNKY.
See I feel like the missiles hanging down like that actually makes it look worse. Like this at least it's out of the way.

I didn't grow up with Armada. Being introduced to the franchise through the Bayverse, I watched most of the shows that came after, and a hefty chunk of G1. But over the pandemic, I decided to binge through the entirety of the Unicron Trilogy and I got a weird nostalgia I felt like I shouldn't have. Watching Armada felt like it brought me to a simpler time. I'm happy that these designs get to shine again.
Im glad the armarda fans got some really great new figures of some characters that needed them

My favorite scene in Armada was when Optimus Prime launched his super mode pants at Megatron, converted back to his base form, and grabbed Megatron by the arm, saying “If I’m going down, I’m taking you with me!”
I don't remember that one, but I can envision it.
You know what with the auto badge being removable i just hope that we get an armada jetfire before legacy is over.
The core robot mode has ab crunch. It's minimal, but it's there. It makes the core robot looks natural and a tad bit dynamic. I always see the back kibble as sort of a trench coat or a super hero cape. Naval commander one has a lot more junk in the back.
I did notice the ab crunch and used it to my advantage for the dabbing scene, but as a general rule I dont think it's useful since the chest piece comes undone to use it, so it just hides any change you do.
I have this prime and it feels so good to transform over and over.
As for the arm cannons of the core prime, my guess is it's suppose to be the "evo-fusion" where it'll peg to the side of the big blaster but we'll never know because they didn't actually put any in the box(I think they gave up, lmao).
For the Super Mode I usually either fold the turret to the buttflap so I can use the waist swivel or
I just detach it and peg it to the arm via the core robot's port under the toe.
Edit: That recliner mode looks awesome and hilarious at the same time I love it haha.

This is one of my favorite designs of Optimus cause it’s fresh and unique so I’m really glad this got the update it deserves. Also hotshot in the Japanese version of the show was called hotrod
It definitely carries the Flavor of Optimus, without it just being G1.

I don't know that I'd say figured out, more it's just kind of built in, if you've not finished the transformation yet.
growing up, I had the old bendy prime (Still have him, and replaced his broken grill with a later mold) and he's been THE armada Optimus of my collection. This big expensive monster is just gorgeous. it's nice seeing the Optimus of my childhood get the toy he deserves.

The launcher bay part of the "backpack" folds down as a back skirt, but I can see why one would prefer not to have that. I haven't seen this at retail yet (in the US Midwest) and got mine from a major online retailer.
Yeah I know that. I just think it's better this way since it's out of the way.
Had this guy for a week and love him a lot! Not sure why his eyes are yellow in super mode, but an easy fix from that a guy did on the tffw2005 forum with the help of a KitKat wrapper made the eyes pop a LOT better! Seriously, that metallic red shine just pops no matter what direction I turn the head in.

I only hate Hot Rod shoulders when the shoulders make contact with the head (Crankcase is a good example) but on this and Tarn they’re far enough that they don’t look bad at least to me
Another problem with them is that you can't fake them for more, so you have a maximum range on the up.

I absolutely had to get this guy. Aside from a few Beast Wars toys the original deluxe Armada Prime was my first transformer (maybe I should say my first Autobot?). When this figure was announced I knew that I would not satisfied until I had both figures standing next to each other.
I also had quite a big of trouble getting those trailer pieces to move. I didn't want to use too much force for fear of breaking it so I just slowly and occasionally applied pressure over the course of an hour or two until it came out.
God tier figure. He also looks great next to my Siege Optimus.
Sounds like you kind of had the experience with Armada that I had with G1 and Beast Wars.
I had a Few G1 figures, and then I got everything from Beast Wars, though I don't remember for sure what the first BW figure I got was, it would either be the Optimus Bat, and Croc Megatron 2 Pack. Rattrap, Cheetor, or Dinobot.

Transformers Armada was my first introduction to the Transformers universe, and Optimus Prime was my first introduction to the character. I remember watching the show as a kid, seeing Optimus Prime in action. He was the greatest. In my hero lineup, he was rank third. First was Spider-man, second was Superman, and fourth was Batman. I even own his toy from the show. Only the truck cab that came with a drone plane minicon. But sadly was lost in the sands of time. So after so many years, when this version of Optimus Prime resurface, from the leak photos of it to Hasbro's official reveal, nostalgic hit me like a bullet train. It was prophesied that one day Optimus Prime, before he was a truck with flame decos, or a flying firetruck(we can skip Energon), would return with his battle station trailer and transform into his supermode to rescue minicons from the Decepticons grasps and save the universe before the phrase "Our Worlds Are In Danger" was written into Cybertron's theme song. And after so long, that Optimus Prime returns. Standing tall and big blaster in hand, ready to face what threat arises in the Legacy multiverse. I got him from Hasbro Pulse last week. And he's amazing. He is the true Optimus Prime in my collection. I only wish he came with his minicon Sparkplug, but I hope that Hasbro makes a minicons box set that includes him.
-Speaking of Optimus Prime, his Animated Universe figure was reveal yesterday for the third year of Legacy. To me, he looks great. Hope Animated fan like the figure.

I also sometimes do butt flap fold up in the backpack thing too sometimes, it kinda helps

Legacy evolution boxes are extremely hard to come by here in the south (Texas). I’ve searched long and hard and the only legacy evolution figure I’ve found (and bought) that wasn’t Nemsis Leo was Blitzwing
They are hard for me to find here in the west too. And I still see a TON of Blitzwings around.
And Nemesis Leo infests every store right now.
Me personally, I don't have that much issue with the backskirt on the combined mode (which you folded up to clean him up), since it's accurate and I quite like that style.
Thank GOD someone actually realized that I did that on purpose. So many people have been telling me how to fix that that I had to change the title of the video.

I'm so gonna order this Friday. I can smell my childhood watching this. Yes I grew up with bayformers and the unicron trilogy [g1, beast wars, and animated are my favorite do don't think I'm using some nostalgia defense] and I really always like this redesign.
I like that so many figures have Matrixes of Leadership. I am however really bothered by SS86 Hotrod having NO compatibility with one. Like he is a deluxe-sized Leader and he faux-forms. I don’t care about faux parts but this feels like an insult

2023 was a good year for commander class Armada Optimus and 86 Magnus where great and also on the crouch of gamer Starscream it looks like Waspinator’s face is on his crouch
It was a Remarkably good year for both Armada and Optimus Prime.
Remember my brother have this and I always want to play with it. But we got a silent rule with us to just see no touch with our own toy collection.
I love to get it but monoskirt and huge backpack is a big turn off.

I got this guy last Tuesday from Amazon (after I forgot that I had pre ordered it back in April) and I love it. Having it next to my Deluxe class original Armada Prime is so let my inner child out (or maybe that just what these Armada figures do for me)

This is the figure I thought my original was when I was a kid.
The trailer legs were a pain, so I'm guessing Hasbro is going to make a Red Alert next to complete the trio.

Armada optimus prime is not only the best legacy figure of all time, but he’s possibly considered to be the best commander class figure of all time, there is one minor problem on him and that’s his chest piece in his robot mode, idk if it’s just me but the chest feels like it doesn’t feel right like it feels kinda off, but other than that everything else about him feels really great, and I even think he’s perfect, so overall I’m happy for this commander class figure and I do hope we get another commander class figure that’s just as amazing as this.

Honestly armada has taken the legacy treatment incredibly well. None of the figures have been bad, the only other line COULD be animated based of the prime and prowl.
Arcee feels like she's without an identity because she's a pre-tool of a retool, Bulkhead makes for an amazing G1 interpretation but a bad Prime or Animated Bulkhead, and my vitriol for Knockout cannot be understated. It is on levels of vitriol that almost reach my sheer hatred of Combiner Wars Armada Megatron.
Skyquake is fantastic though. Looks just as good in blue.
@@BlitzkriegOmega Yeah, the prime figure arn't bad figures the bad thing is they were marketed as prime universe. If you had marketed arcee as arcee or bulkhead as g1 bulkhead it would have been fine.
Hot shot is pretty compromised though. His legs are really weird and his arms have very little articulation for a supposed swordsman

I used it to dab, but outside that since the chest unclips to do it, I don't think it looks like it does anything.

Yeah, overall I really dig this thing. It hearkens back to original toy surprisingly well. I just wish they could make the backpack on the Super-mode smaller.

I feel like it could be worse
They could give characters matrix gimmicks but then say “if you want to use this gimmick you need Earthrise Optimus, this is the only matrix we’re making, screw you”
So I think including them with a bunch of figures is the better option

Me and my mom went to a swap meet basically a big yard sale, and I found a guy selling transformers old transformers, like he had a G1 Soundwave for 10 bucks but since it was scorching hot, I only got two figures. One was a small revenge of the fallen rampage easy to transform and I think I’m gonna take it to work as like a fidget toy the second was an original beast wars depth charge without the tail gun or discs death Charj was my favorite character from beast wars and the best part rampage was one dollar and depth charge was 15 16 bucks for all transformers. That’s a deal.
I’m quite happy the Armada figures aren’t as stylized as the Animated and Prime figures, I never understood why they needed to do that.
Same, I find the fact that these recent Armada figures are more accurate to their source material to be a blessing too
I don't know that I'd say they are more accurate, it's more that they are referencing the old stuff more. They still want to be a new thing, but they didn't throw the play book out.
Best commander yet and I will die on that hill. The original one along with the Armada cartoon are what got me into Transformers when they originally came out. 11/10. Would buy again. Now gimme the cab in Nemesis colors

ive had this figure for months and its still figure of the year for me
i just can't get over how this figure's head looks so cool yet he looks so sad/exhausted
also some weird/moronic thing i noticed is the hands in the combined mode, the peg hole is blocked of so it literally can only hold the gun which has a shorter then usual peg, like its so stupid i don't understand why they did it at all

I had armada prime ONCE as a kid we didnt have batteries so returned it and I always wanted it, now I have legacy prime and HE ISNT LEAVING NOW I WANT JETFIRE AND OVERLOAD
It was OK, but honestly the battery gimmick didn't even work, so you kind of played your self.
Animated prime and bumblebee was released and they look immaculate

even ultra magnus i consider a commander, rodimus with box, he still isnt, and now this is to me the best commander of all

Here's a tip: click the inner shoulders (the grey joints) up once. It creates a much mire dynamic silouhette and looks perfectly fine since the hip-shoulders have a bit of play inwards.
I grew up with the unicron trilogy so this Optimus is a yes in my books I must have it when it hits targets I'm on my no stopping me.
Hopefully it eventually does, it's impossible to find stuff at brick and mortar now.
Yo Perspective, if you’re having problems separating the supermode upper body from lower body, try pinching the grey tabs on the sides of the waist, they push the clips in so you can release Optimus easier, it also helps when getting into super mode.
I do that, but it still holds on with a ton of force, I don't know what's up. I don't even know how I got if off the waist before I figured that out.

You can choose to remove that detatchable part from the back and tilt the flap down for a more clean back.
I could, it's nice that I have the option, but I prefer not to partsform a figure if possible, and I think it's more out of the way like this.
My biggest complaint with the core robot is the lack of waist swivel. Now, a full rotation is unreasonable. Maybe five-ten degrees in either direction though? There’s enough super robot joints in the ab area to facilitate at most that. Just a bit of re-engineering is all that was needed.
A smaller complaint is how useless the big trailer canon is in super robot mode. You’d think, with EVOFUSION being the line’s motif? They’d have come up with something for that to do. Anything more than just an ass skirt.
MMC Figured out how to do a rotation while including hinged joints that swivel.

I like how the inside of prime's face on both modes is in a darker shade in contrast to the rest of his blue head
If I'm not mistaken, this whole thing with "ears" in super mode did not come from super sentai, but from the "super robot" mecha subgenre. The fact is, again, if I'm not mistaken, many designs for mechs, including transformers, were based a little on traditional oriental armor (hence we have armored skirts and huge codpieces). Helmets in those days were also decorated, especially if the armor was more for display. Hence, ears, horns, antennas and anything else appeared in the designs, the more, the cooler. And if this is a super mode, then there should be super ears.
I was on the fence about this purchase. But the general hearsay about it, even before it came out, was that it was good. And after getting it..... Hell Yeah. This thing ain't perfect, but DAMN it is impressive.
-The truck has a weird bed, but is otherwise awesome.
-The bot mode has a bit of a shoulder problem. But I think, for me, the weirdness comes from the head. On ocasion, mostly in the eyes, it reminded be of Sad Bumblebee Soundwave.
-The super bot mode is big, chunky, has tasty ratchets all over, etc. I like to swivel the arm tires the other way though. That way, they're hanging out more over the wrists than the elbows. And the mono-skirt doesn't bother me that much here. Mostly because it has two hinges and a swivel joint. As long as you don't over swivel the waist, you can make it look pretty natural.
It's got a couple issues, but for the most part its great.

When this figure was announced I knew it would be matter of when I get it, but when the pre-orders was announced to started on my birthday it only confirmed that when I was getting it was more sooner than later. After when I got I did not regret it. It is easily the toy of the year. I give it a good 9/10. The one point doesn't go to one thing in particular the one point is just enough nit-pics it isn't a full 10/10

It didn't really need it. Back in the day I filmed Skyfire in this lightbox, so this being smaller I knew it would work.

I’m glad you like him so much. I love him, armada got me back in the game so I have a hard time separating nostalgia from him. I like the back pack to hang down more like a back skirt but flap. Makes it a lil egregious
I find that as a skirt, I notice it way more personally, so I like it up, since it's hidden from the front.
9:26 the waist swivel isn’t such a mess if the butt flap was in place. You’ve got it tucked up with the backpack. Unless you prefer that look at the sacrifice of a relatively easy to use waist swivel.
I do prefer the look of it, but I didn't stop to think about how it was interfering when the normal way wouldn't.
This is honestly one of my favorite figures that i have gotten recently. It was actually a graduation gift that i had to qait months for because we pre-ordered it 😂
4:47 the red console in the base mode’s center? The space before it can fit a Titanmaster or Primemaster in a sitting position almost perfectly. Until I get a Mini-con Sparkplug? I am using PotP Vector Sigma for a tiny partner. They’re so similarly colored, it’s a perfect match!
Thanks to having a toy figure to man it, I am having fun with the base mode. Not as stock. My fan mode is pretty simple. Just swivel the missile launcher to be a tower facing forward. Armada Prime's super mode's head is style after the "bamboo" armor of some styles of Japanese Samurai armor and was considered the worst looking Optimus Prime head pre-Michael Bay. The way the cab robot's head is sculpted combined with his huge shoulders just makes him look super drepressed all the time.
Who thought it was the worst Optimus head. I don't remember anyone saying that back in the day.
Mine had the base robot knee/super mode elbow stress crack on the first transformation it was so tight… waiting to hear back from Hasbro on a replacement part. Also surprised you didn’t mention the super mode eyes being the wrong color XD
