There’s also that one episode where the decepticons find the autobot base in a military camp. So what they do is instead of bombing the entire camp they only bomb one building and all the autobots have to do to avoid being blown up is switch places with the next building.
It's always good to rewatch a series later on so when the hype dies down you can see more the flaws. Much as I liked Amarda/hated Energon my opinion changed. Armada is a very slow start but has some hype af moments by ep 13. Energon has an interesting plot but the repetitive battles and worst than S1 Beast Wars clunky animation doesn't help and the dub cutting a major character background episode was trash. It was such a big reveal, it re-contextualizes everything they've done throughout the series. And Kicker apparently isn't the worst human in the franchise since he actually does help even in battle. SUCCESSFULLY!

Even Bayverse Megatron was a better tactician. If BW and Animated Megatrons are a scalpel and Bayverse Megs is a chainsaw, then TFP Megatron is a fucking Abrams. Absolutely no precision or planning, just power, durability and fighting skills. I honestly don’t think there’s ever been a LESS tactical Megatron. Which is funny cause the one in the Cybertron games, which are supposedly prequels to Prime, is way smarter than his future self. Meaning TFP Megs canonically suffered some form of irreversible processor damage.
Never getting over the fact that megatron left the space bridges entire video game weakspot open to the enemy team. Don’t get me started on his kill shot with arcee and a child.
Finally someone said it. Them killing Cliffjumper was supposed to make the Decepticons feel like a threat and that this story isn’t afraid to kill off it’s main characters, and then the rest of the show, the Decepticon empire falls to a squadron of the enemy faction. There are no steaks

@@PerspectiveEndI think the reason Prime is so serious, and this isn’t confirmed so take it with a grain of salt, but it’s widely believed Elita is dead. The biggest clue is during the Roid Rage Ratchet episode. Instead of Cliffjumper, Ratchet was actually gonna bring up Elita’s death. And the writers were even going to have Optimus break his cold and calm character and straight up drop Ratchet with a punch. But HASBRO was determined to leave Optimus a stoic character, so they had to change the scene. So it’s semi confirmed the reason Optimus is so serious and emotionless is that the emotional part of him died with Elita, hence her being brought up bringing emotions out of Optimus.
I think we can agree that animated bulkhead is the better design and in my opinion better character. But most animated characters have better arcs anyway.
FINALLY! I loved this show and I’m GLAD you can be so honest with no fear of the show’s almost fanatical fans (myself included). Can’t wait for you to get to the High Moon games designs cause those are my favorites for most characters.
To this day, not many people are aware that Prime Shockwave's working title was "Purple Steel". The reason it was dropped was due to the realization that, while he had an angular face, he was missing the necessary chin and cheekbones to pull it off. One heck of a stare though. He's also probably the buffest nerd I've ever seen. 🤔
The designs for the characters don’t feel like they should belong with each other, like most look like a human cosplaying in robot parts and the others just skeletons with bits of simple shapes on them, and then the rest have big hulks that have a body to fit a whole energon cube inside them. Oh and you should have talked about the eyebrows cause the ones on starscream can cost some nightmares
Prime Megatrons only Damage he did to the autobots was that he gutted bee’s voice box. That’s surprising because at one point he had two separate army and one of these army has units that’s actually are able to keep up with team prime, and the other ones are near useless. And he also had fucking predaking on his side

He was one of the most competent Starscreams. A bit surprised Blackarachnia got a mention and not to throw shade at the lesser spiderCon, Airachnid. Who always felt like someone described Spinister to the animators, but all they found in record were images of Animated Arachnia for reference. And then slapped her in a helicopter.
The thing I hated most about TFP was the damn humans, they were especially annoying in this show. Its a show about big robots that turn into cars so believe it or not I want to see the big robots that turn into cars not the squishy meat creatures.
I'm both glad and disappointed that you didn't do knockout. Glad because he is objectively the best character in the show. Disappointed because I wanted to see how you would roast him.
As someone who grew up with this show and love it, this is pretty accurate and I just love your honesty. If the High Moon designs' next, I'll enjoy watching with popcorn while your tear them appart with your roast >:)

Seriously, it’s like they forgot the most crucial thing about Optimus, that he’s a real hero, not one of those Hollywood posers, and that he’s strong enough to be gentle and not be such a stuck up prick who would rather rip a con’s face instead of being more of a father figure.
Yeah every time I hear Peter Cullen talk about his brother telling him to be a real hero not one who screams and just wants to kill be able to stand up for what’s right and a few other things I can’t remember off the top of my head but I get a little bit sadder seeing that most modern Optimus’s are like this exceptions of cyberverse cyberspark and kind of ROTB

I totally feel that, I think Optimus has been on a downward trend since 07. G1 was phenomenal, and very much embodied those ideals. I think UT Optimus does a great job of it too, he’s put more in the role of a military commander. But he has some real heart, a lot of depth to his characterization, we get to see him joke around sometimes, he also only kills when he has to. We see him struggle with those violent tendencies in Armada, but overcome them. He feels more real. Animated is very different, but I do love him. Great character. But Prime is just boring. He doesn’t have the depth of UT prime, he’s not as fun as G1. He has none of it. Bay prime is the best example of character assassination I can think of. Cyberverse i think is a little better than prime. Seige is pretty bad. Prime wars, well, we don’t talk about prime wars. Earthspark I don’t mind so far, but he’s not enough of a focus to even rank him.
Congrats on 3 years! I've been waiting for this one for a long time! Glad to see Screamer get a shred of mercy. He's the reason I kept watching Prime, and therefore made me a TF fan.
Prime Arcee is my Arcee because the other cartoon ones (and the recent movies) are just robot Leia. I like Prime Arcee because she's sleek and pointy. Confusing tires aside, she's much better than every other Arcee to design for sure. Which makes the Legarcee look like an astronomical failure. I just feel like Bulkhead's gonna turn into a ball when he tumbles. He's too stubby and too round. His proportions don't make sense in a semi-realistic gritty animation. I actually love Prime Ratchet's design. It's just awesome, like he's a futuristic paladin. It's far from what he's supposed to be, but it's what he is in my mind. Prime Optimus is too human-like, it's like the AOE Optimus but less bad. But still bad. The others have complex personalities, Optimus has nothing. Starscream really needs the cockpit chest. He needs a design worthy of his character. He's based on Bay Starscream, why doesn't he have the only one good quality the Bay version has? Megatron here is an addict. What the hell did you expect? He's gonna be worse than every other Decepticon. Knockout is very good. I wish his body was better designed, there's literally no decent toy of him at all. He fauxforms the worst of them all. Shockwave being ripped is believable. It's logical to have some strength so you don't rely on anyone else. Cause the Decepticons are a mess, especially in Prime.
I don't feel like that's an excuse for why they changed her. Like so what if the other one was based on Leia. Arcee is based on Leia. Oh yeah, the fact that he never attacked by rolling into a ball is a crime. I don't think prime is all that human like personally. You know Megatron being a Junky is a good way to describe it.
I never understood the people who said that Prime Chromia is the best Arcee, despite her looking and acting like a completely different character. Most of the time, she acts like a stock-up brat with her whole "YoU dOn'T uNdErStAnD mY pAiN" BS that makes her come off as an edgelord, It says something when the mute Soundwave feels less edgy than the talking bike who has a weird, yucky romantic relationship with a 16-year-old boy and his overbearing mother.
This is the show where every cybertronian was deliberately designed for r34 by the character designers and people wonder why there’s so many fan girls who are into TF porn.
As much as I loved Prime, you are spot on when it comes to both the designs and the character personalities. Its especially jarring when you compare this to the two Cybertron games. The characters in that series had so much personality, even Optimus to an extent. It was fun seeing them banter with each other on both sides. And then you get to Prime and everybody just blends together, which is sad. Also yeah the designs are definitely mixed. I feel like they're wayyyy to complex for their own good.
As someone who genuinely loves Prime, this was awesome to listen. Not just because I like hearing different opinions, but because one thing I actually dislike about Prime is the designs. So hearing someone rip on them with so much rage bellowing from their chest actually gave me a good laugh.
I think for optimus the best way to write him would be in a similar vain to superman, i.e. they don't just need to be relatable, but they need to be inspiring, they need to be a character viewers can look up to and want to be like

Comment 2: I have ideas for stuff to roast for an ROTB roast: Optimus Prime: him being the biggest jerk and his washed out colours. Mirage: him just being Jazz and the head being off. Bumblebee: the fact that he decided to be more sharper than the Bumblebee movie design itself. Arcee: her colours just being Elita-One. Stratosphere: the head. Pablo: already roasted so many times. Optimus Primal: the lack of colours. Cheetor: his black panther knock-off costume with the weird head. Rhinox: the head. Airazor: the fact that she doesn't have an official robot mode and thus doesn't transform, defeating the point of the entire series. Scourge: the inconsistent insignia trophies and the claw arm. Nightbird: the beak mouth and the figures of her both having bad kibble management and a large crotch for no reason. Battletrap: the head being as confusing as a baby design. Apelinq: the return of Dino's arm blades. Sweeps: being Spooky scary skeletons in an attempt to have a slasher film where the only one who dies is the killer. Scorponok: for being the only member of a faction that was hinted at being important in marketing, and not even having a lot of screentime. Unicron: for being the main threat of the first installment of a planned trilogy.
Prime Megatron is super overrated, and to this day no one can convince me that Animated Megatron isn't the best one. He's the only one to actually kill Starscream when he tries to betray him, instead of that "keep your enemies close" bullshit. (Beast Wars Megatron is the 2nd best. Also somewhat because of his low tolerance for traitors.)
Animated Megatron, Marvel, IDW or Armada Starscream and IDW Soundwave could easily make a dream team. Prime is overrated and Empress Kumquat is the equivalent of a middle of the road content creator who’d make a lie or erroronus claim of Optimus bricking up Sunstreaker in a tunnel before adding the bit died in the tunnel when he didn’t and the uneducated normies would eat it up without basic research. Basically an MCU fan talking about Marvel Comics.

Oooh I clicked so fast on this one. Yeah, Armada Prime was more of a war-time general but he had much more personality, he was still expressive and had fun while also sharing words of wisdom without always sounding like a monotone bore. And didn't wear stripper shorts...even Fatimus Prime in Energon was that drill Sargent who gained beer weight after the war but still could kick your ass and would call Kicker's mother to pick him up if he misbehaved. Animated Prowl did the motorcycle design perfectly, had both wheels in the legs and no 3rd wheelin bs. Bulkhead's Animated design was better...also Bulky do hang with young girls quite a bit. The "I needed that" joke wasn't that funny, except the time Bulkhead mocked him for it "What, you needed that?" I think every Megatron was about being the one to personally beat Optimus Prime out of ego, because Armada Megatron saw Optimus turn to space dust and he went to depression mode. This Megatron is bit of a joke because he's a druggy hopped up on space crack made from blood of the robot devil. Surprised you didn't mention Megatron's drug addiction since that was like a big plotpoint even when they went after Unicron. Everyone salty about non-G1 designs some characters are in other TF shows, but suddenly everyone giving Arcee who has one of the more drastic departures a pass? Yeah, okay...let's not check your browsing history. Speaking of Unicron...having him as the planet Earth...really? At least G1 and UT had him as this planet wiping monster. Granted one had him a Frankenstein's monster going solo and the other an Eldritch abomination that eats planets and transformers like something out of Prometheus while having a baller toy. And god..."Aligned continuity" is so pretentious. Even Thew admits to mentally checking out when hearing that. It tried to go so big on that but botched as bad as the Japanese making Galaxy Force a reboot instead of trilogy like they planned but not as hard as how Beast Machines killed momentum of BWII and BW Neo from the West. We lost Transformers Animated in favor of Prime and the HUB network that also colossally flopped...honestly, would've rather had Season 4 Animated. It'd be the 1st TF series with a proper 4th season, no the Rebirth doesn't count since even THAT was cut from 5 to 3 episodes so it's more like a rushed TV movie or special like Cyberverse.
The vehicon designs are pretty cool. Shame they're intentionally generic even more than the generic Seekers. TF Devastation had more interesting grunt troops, and they were based on existing characters like Runabout/Runamuck or the Seekers. Let's not even get started on the faux forming...people complain about the movie transformations? At least those look like it makes sense the way it worked there! At least for the 1st few movies...here it's just mass shifting almost as obvious as G1 Soundwave in the pilot and just parts coming out of nowhere. These were never meant to properly be made into toys, you can kinda tell where which part is meant to be what, but invokes more the MP-44 Optimus where only a small part of his vehicle mode is actually used as the robot mode and isn't folded in. Energon was a clunky CG mess, but the transformations still made sense, yes even Energon Arcee being more like the spirit of the original character people like to go on about than the blue variant. Yes, I got plenty to say on this series, what of it? I'm open for a collab.
What I would improve with Transformers Prime is casting J.K. Simmons as Ratchet instead because after hearing his voice as Tenzin in Legend of Korra and the real Stanford Pines in Gravity Falls, it made me wish he voiced Ratchet instead, i would cast Stephen Lang as Silas as Stephan Lang’s voice sound better and it would made Sils sound more like Col. Miles Quaritch from James Cameron’s Avatar, I would cast Fred Tatasciore as Breakdown so he can sound more hulk, I would cast Keith David as Soundwave as I fucking hate how Soundwave sounded, despite him being voiced by Frank Welker yet it still sounds terrible and Keith David would’ve used his Mongul voice from Young Justice to make Soundwave sound more sinister and not gruff, I would cast Sam Worthington for Smokescreen because after hearing Worthington’s voice after finishing Transformers Prime, it made me enjoy less of Nolan North’s voice performance and made me wish it was Sam Worthington who voiced Smokescreen instead.
I'm quite happy with Jeffry Combs being Ratchet. He needs to be in more things. Also Clancy Brown is a treasure. That is another change I would not make. I have no idea who Fred Tatasciore is, but I'm not about to say that Breakdown Required Adam Baldwin to be what he was. Keith David Soundwave would have been cool. And hopefully it would mean he talked more. You must be a Huge Avatar fan. I wouldn't bother changing Smokescrene's voice, guy did a good job.

My opinions: Optimus Prime: Say what you want about Earthspark and Animated, at least Prime smiled and had a sense of humor in those. Arcee: Easily the most overrated version of Arcee ever. Bulkhead: Basically everything you said in this video. Ratchet: At least we agree that Jeffery Combs rocked it. Breakdown: I keep forgetting he's in this show. Shockwave: One of only four characters in Prime that I liked, the other three being Smokescreen, Knock Out, and Ultra Magnus. Soundwave: G1 Soundwave superior, Prime Soundwave inferior. Megatron: Vegeta called, he wants his shoulder pads and personality back. At least with Vegeta, his rivalry with Goku makes some sense given that Vegeta, the prince of the Saiyans, is angry that Goku, the son of a low class warrior beat him, so for him its a pride thing, what's Megatron's excuse? Starscream: Basically everything you said in this video. Overall, it was nice to see the most overrated TF show get roasted like this. Easily the best roast you have ever done. Good job!
Prime is in my top 3 TF shows and I always found the characters designs lacking, but surprisingly I’ve always loved the animated designs and some of the movie designs
Bruh upgraded optimus makes me claustrophobic with how hes too thicc for his own articulaion. I didnt mind the alternate mode but like a high moon bot has better chances to high kick than prime

Very possible, I have always considered that an intentional Bait and Switch. Trying to make people believe that it's a dark and gritty show trying to make people believe that it's a Dark and Gritty Show, by having a character die in the first few seconds. Then never killing another good guy again through out the run of the show.
Honestly most of these designs just don't strike strong emotions out of me, they just kind of exist. I think the only cool designs to come out of it are Soundwave and Knockout. Arcee is overrated as hell imo, and my lack of interest in her character or love for her design (that really should be chromia) just makes me like her less with how popular she is.
Keep in mind how the designs look also depends on how your seeing them, seeing soundwave as a still image on a white background isn’t gonna look as good as I’m super blocking airachnid on the nemesis
Thoughts on these designs. Optimus Prime: this is literally what AOE/TLK Prime should have looked like. A top heavy freak of a design. Chunkimus Prime: I bet he only had the X-axis increased to make him look like the WFC game's version more. Chromiarcee: This is Arcee. THIS IS ARCEE?! Compared to Rise of the Beasts' Arcee-1, where the colours of Elita work for the design and they didn't change the general shape of the character. Bulkhead: the chest just reminds me of the version of him from AOE/TLK pretending to be Hound. Ratchet: What is wrong with his forearms. He needed better ones, alongside a better joke. Breakdown: he decided to be buff so he didn't have to be made out of a Legacy Wildrider. Shockwave: (other than the head) this works better as a movie shockwave than the DOTM version. Soundknife: the only thing he has that is somewhat cool is when he's just creepy, but Tarantulas called because he's jealous of how skinny this guy is despite the attempts at eeriness. Also, I nicknamed him Soundknife due to the arms that he uses to slice pizzas. Megatron: I personally love the face due to adding more humanity to the bay version's face, while keeping the Sharp teeth to make him more monstrous than he actually is. The only time a more humanoid face than the prime version works IMO is the Beast Wars Megatron. Starscream: I think that skinny Starscream doesn't work. He's a jet, so the skinny body just looks stupid. By contrast, the Bumblebee movie seeker designs are just perfect as they keep them somewhat humanoid and thin whilst being big and imposing, as Starscream's should be.
Oh I can't wait to see what you do with Arachnid, that girl is a crazzy ass spider lady whom at one point was (i think) obsesed with a human teenager, Whom became a vampire later on in the show.

It's always good to rewatch a series later on so when the hype dies down you can see more the flaws. Much as I liked Amarda/hated Energon my opinion changed. Armada is a very slow start but has some hype af moments by ep 13. Energon has an interesting plot but the repetitive battles and worst than S1 Beast Wars clunky animation doesn't help and the dub cutting a major character background episode was trash. It was such a big reveal, it re-contextualizes everything they've done throughout the series. And Kicker apparently isn't the worst human in the franchise since he actually does help even in battle. SUCCESSFULLY!

Even Bayverse Megatron was a better tactician. If BW and Animated Megatrons are a scalpel and Bayverse Megs is a chainsaw, then TFP Megatron is a fucking Abrams. Absolutely no precision or planning, just power, durability and fighting skills. I honestly don’t think there’s ever been a LESS tactical Megatron. Which is funny cause the one in the Cybertron games, which are supposedly prequels to Prime, is way smarter than his future self. Meaning TFP Megs canonically suffered some form of irreversible processor damage.

@@PerspectiveEndI think the reason Prime is so serious, and this isn’t confirmed so take it with a grain of salt, but it’s widely believed Elita is dead. The biggest clue is during the Roid Rage Ratchet episode. Instead of Cliffjumper, Ratchet was actually gonna bring up Elita’s death. And the writers were even going to have Optimus break his cold and calm character and straight up drop Ratchet with a punch. But HASBRO was determined to leave Optimus a stoic character, so they had to change the scene. So it’s semi confirmed the reason Optimus is so serious and emotionless is that the emotional part of him died with Elita, hence her being brought up bringing emotions out of Optimus.
I laughed the whole time. I still love Prime. You need to be able to accept that no matter what you like, it can never be perfect.

To this day, not many people are aware that Prime Shockwave's working title was "Purple Steel". The reason it was dropped was due to the realization that, while he had an angular face, he was missing the necessary chin and cheekbones to pull it off. One heck of a stare though. He's also probably the buffest nerd I've ever seen. 🤔
The designs for the characters don’t feel like they should belong with each other, like most look like a human cosplaying in robot parts and the others just skeletons with bits of simple shapes on them, and then the rest have big hulks that have a body to fit a whole energon cube inside them.

He was one of the most competent Starscreams. A bit surprised Blackarachnia got a mention and not to throw shade at the lesser spiderCon, Airachnid. Who always felt like someone described Spinister to the animators, but all they found in record were images of Animated Arachnia for reference. And then slapped her in a helicopter.

The thing I hated most about TFP was the damn humans, they were especially annoying in this show. Its a show about big robots that turn into cars so believe it or not I want to see the big robots that turn into cars not the squishy meat creatures.

As a long time bayverse fan, I can tell you that most people don’t care and just find Optimus awesome, me included honestly and while I don’t mind the “strong enough to be gentle” Optimus, it seems like that’s slowly changing

I totally feel that, I think Optimus has been on a downward trend since 07. G1 was phenomenal, and very much embodied those ideals. I think UT Optimus does a great job of it too, he’s put more in the role of a military commander. But he has some real heart, a lot of depth to his characterization, we get to see him joke around sometimes, he also only kills when he has to. We see him struggle with those violent tendencies in Armada, but overcome them. He feels more real. Animated is very different, but I do love him. Great character. But Prime is just boring. He doesn’t have the depth of UT prime, he’s not as fun as G1. He has none of it. Bay prime is the best example of character assassination I can think of. Cyberverse i think is a little better than prime. Seige is pretty bad. Prime wars, well, we don’t talk about prime wars. Earthspark I don’t mind so far, but he’s not enough of a focus to even rank him.

Prime Arcee is my Arcee because the other cartoon ones (and the recent movies) are just robot Leia.
I like Prime Arcee because she's sleek and pointy. Confusing tires aside, she's much better than every other Arcee to design for sure. Which makes the Legarcee look like an astronomical failure.
I just feel like Bulkhead's gonna turn into a ball when he tumbles. He's too stubby and too round. His proportions don't make sense in a semi-realistic gritty animation.
I actually love Prime Ratchet's design. It's just awesome, like he's a futuristic paladin. It's far from what he's supposed to be, but it's what he is in my mind.
Prime Optimus is too human-like, it's like the AOE Optimus but less bad. But still bad. The others have complex personalities, Optimus has nothing.
Starscream really needs the cockpit chest. He needs a design worthy of his character.

I never understood the people who said that Prime Chromia is the best Arcee, despite her looking and acting like a completely different character. As much as I loved Prime, you are spot on when it comes to both the designs and the character personalities. Its especially jarring when you compare this to the two Cybertron games. The characters in that series had so much personality, even Optimus to an extent. It was fun seeing them banter with each other on both sides. And then you get to Prime and everybody just blends together, which is sad. Also yeah the designs are definitely mixed. I feel like they're wayyyy to complex for their own good.

As someone who genuinely loves Prime, this was awesome to listen. Not just because I like hearing different opinions, but because one thing I actually dislike about Prime is the designs. So hearing someone rip on them with so much rage bellowing from their chest actually gave me a good laugh.

Unicron: for being the main threat of the first installment of a planned trilogy.
Prime Megatron is super overrated, and to this day no one can convince me that Animated Megatron isn't the best one. He's the only one to actually kill Starscream when he tries to betray him, instead of that "keep your enemies close" bullshit.
(Beast Wars Megatron is the 2nd best. Also somewhat because of his low tolerance for traitors.)
Animated Megatron, Marvel, IDW or Armada Starscream and IDW Soundwave could easily make a dream team.
Prime is overrated and Empress Kumquat is the equivalent of a middle of the road content creator who’d make a lie or erroronus claim of Optimus bricking up Sunstreaker in a tunnel before adding the bit died in the tunnel when he didn’t and the uneducated normies would eat it up without basic research. Basically an MCU fan talking about Marvel Comics.

Yeah, Armada Prime was more of a war-time general but he had much more personality, he was still expressive and had fun while also sharing words of wisdom without always sounding like a monotone bore. And didn't wear stripper shorts...even Fatimus Prime in Energon was that drill Sargent who gained beer weight after the war but still could kick your ass and would call Kicker's mother to pick him up if he misbehaved.
Animated Prowl did the motorcycle design perfectly, had both wheels in the legs and no 3rd wheelin bs.
Bulkhead's Animated design was better...also Bulky do hang with young girls quite a bit.

I think every Megatron was about being the one to personally beat Optimus Prime out of ego, because Armada Megatron saw Optimus turn to space dust and he went to depression mode. This Megatron is bit of a joke because he's a druggy hopped up on space crack made from blood of the robot devil. Surprised you didn't mention Megatron's drug addiction since that was like a big plotpoint even when they went after Unicron.

Speaking of Unicron...having him as the planet Earth...really? At least G1 and UT had him as this planet wiping monster. Granted one had him a Frankenstein's monster going solo and the other an Eldritch abomination that eats planets and transformers like something out of Prometheus while having a baller toy. And god..."Aligned continuity" is so pretentious. Even Thew admits to mentally checking out when hearing that. It tried to go so big on that but botched as bad as the Japanese making Galaxy Force a reboot instead of trilogy like they planned but not as hard as how Beast Machines killed momentum of BWII and BW Neo from the West. We lost Transformers Animated in favor of Prime and the HUB network that also colossally flopped...honestly, would've rather had Season 4 Animated. It'd be the 1st TF series with a proper 4th season, no the Rebirth doesn't count since even THAT was cut from 5 to 3 episodes so it's more like a rushed TV movie or special like Cyberverse.
The vehicon designs are pretty cool. Shame they're intentionally generic even more than the generic Seekers. TF Devastation had more interesting grunt troops, and they were based on existing characters like Runabout/Runamuck or the Seekers.
Let's not even get started on the faux forming...people complain about the movie transformations? At least those look like it makes sense the way it worked there! At least for the 1st few movies...here it's just mass shifting almost as obvious as G1 Soundwave in the pilot and just parts coming out of nowhere. These were never meant to properly be made into toys, you can kinda tell where which part is meant to be what, but invokes more the MP-44 Optimus where only a small part of his vehicle mode is actually used as the robot mode and isn't folded in. Energon was a clunky CG mess, but the transformations still made sense, yes even Energon Arcee being more like the spirit of the original character people like to go on about than the blue variant.

What I would improve with Transformers Prime is casting J.K. Simmons as Ratchet instead because after hearing his voice as Tenzin in Legend of Korra and the real Stanford Pines in Gravity Falls, it made me wish he voiced Ratchet instead, i would cast Stephen Lang as Silas as Stephan Lang’s voice sound better and it would made Sils sound more like Col. Miles Quaritch from James Cameron’s Avatar, I would cast Fred Tatasciore as Breakdown so he can sound more hulk, I would cast Keith David as Soundwave as I fucking hate how Soundwave sounded, despite him being voiced by Frank Welker yet it still sounds terrible and Keith David would’ve used his Mongul voice from Young Justice to make Soundwave sound more sinister and not gruff, I would cast Sam Worthington for Smokescreen because after hearing Worthington’s voice after finishing Transformers Prime, it made me enjoy less of Nolan North’s voice performance and made me wish it was Sam Worthington who voiced Smokescreen instead.
I'm quite happy with Jeffry Combs being Ratchet. He needs to be in more things.
Also Clancy Brown is a treasure. That is another change I would not make.
I have no idea who Fred Tatasciore is, but I'm not about to say that Breakdown Required Adam Baldwin to be what he was.
Keith David Soundwave would have been cool. And hopefully it would mean he talked more.

My opinions:
Optimus Prime: Say what you want about Earthspark and Animated, at least Prime smiled and had a sense of humor in those.
Arcee: Easily the most overrated version of Arcee ever.
Bulkhead: Basically everything you said in this video.
Ratchet: At least we agree that Jeffery Combs rocked it.
Breakdown: I keep forgetting he's in this show.
Shockwave: One of only four characters in Prime that I liked, the other three being Smokescreen, Knock Out, and Ultra Magnus.
Soundwave: G1 Soundwave superior, Prime Soundwave inferior.
Megatron: Vegeta called, he wants his shoulder pads and personality back. At least with Vegeta, his rivalry with Goku makes some sense given that Vegeta, the prince of the Saiyans, is angry that Goku, the son of a low class warrior beat him, so for him its a pride thing, what's Megatron's excuse?
Starscream: Basically everything you said in this video.
Overall, it was nice to see the most overrated TF show get roasted like this. Easily the best roast you have ever done. Good job!

Bulkheads Prime design is basically the animated design but you smoothed out all the details on it
And got rid of everything interesting about it in the process.

Prime is in my top 3 TF shows and I always found the characters designs lacking, but surprisingly I’ve always loved the animated designs and some of the movie designs

Very possible, I have always considered that an intentional Bait and Switch. Trying to make people believe that it's a dark and gritty show trying to make people believe that it's a Dark and Gritty Show, by having a character die in the first few seconds.
Then never killing another good guy again through out the run of the show.

Honestly most of these designs just don't strike strong emotions out of me, they just kind of exist. I think the only cool designs to come out of it are Soundwave and Knockout. Arcee is overrated as hell imo, and my lack of interest in her character or love for her design (that really should be chromia) just makes me like her less with how popular she is.
This is why I say they are boring.
Keep in mind how the designs look also depends on how your seeing them, seeing soundwave as a still image on a white background isn’t gonna look as good as I’m super blocking airachnid on the nemesis
I'm taking that into account when I make these, I'm not insulting the picture exclusively, but what I know the character to look like over all.

Thoughts on these designs.
Optimus Prime: this is literally what AOE/TLK Prime should have looked like. A top heavy freak of a design.
Chunkimus Prime: I bet he only had the X-axis increased to make him look like the WFC game's version more.
Chromiarcee: This is Arcee. THIS IS ARCEE?! Compared to Rise of the Beasts' Arcee-1, where the colours of Elita work for the design and they didn't change the general shape of the character.
Bulkhead: the chest just reminds me of the version of him from AOE/TLK pretending to be Hound.
Ratchet: What is wrong with his forearms. He needed better ones, alongside a better joke.
Breakdown: he decided to be buff so he didn't have to be made out of a Legacy Wildrider.
Shockwave: (other than the head) this works better as a movie shockwave than the DOTM version.
Soundknife: the only thing he has that is somewhat cool is when he's just creepy, but Tarantulas called because he's jealous of how skinny this guy is despite the attempts at eeriness. Also, I nicknamed him Soundknife due to the arms that he uses to slice pizzas.
Megatron: I personally love the face due to adding more humanity to the bay version's face, while keeping the Sharp teeth to make him more monstrous than he actually is. The only time a more humanoid face than the prime version works IMO is the Beast Wars Megatron.
Starscream: I think that skinny Starscream doesn't work. He's a jet, so the skinny body just looks stupid. By contrast, the Bumblebee movie seeker designs are just perfect as they keep them somewhat humanoid and thin whilst being big and imposing, as Starscream's should be.
Oh I can't wait to see what you do with Arachnid, that girl is a crazzy ass spider lady whom at one point was (i think) obsesed with a human teenager, Whom became a vampire later on in the show.
