What makes these so useful is Jack was a teacher at Dallas Theological Seminary and was basically fired because they teach cessationist and he came to see that there is noth8ng in the bible that teaches it. In paperback and used these should be less than $5 apiece. He is a valuable author to help you make your decision. BUT this guy, the first time he was suggested to me, I listened and he completely misquoted Acts 5, claiming it is necessary to sell all now or lose your salvation. And guess who the money was to be given to... If there are false Christ's, there must be a real One, (Jesus Christ is Lord and God) so if there are false apostles then there must be real ones. The problem that we, including myself, have been taught is that apostles were something they were not. For example, in Acts 14:14, Barnabas and Paul are both called apostles, and Barnabas is called Zeus, over Paul being son of Zeus (Hermes?), meaning Barnabas had greater manifestations of the power of God than Paul at that time. In fact, there are several others that are called apostles. But none of the apostles listed in Acts are called the apostles of the lamb, the 12, except Mathias replacing Judus in acts 1. These were eye witnesses of the Lord's earthly ministry. There are no more and these 12 are in a special class all their own. As concern8ng prophets, Agibus is twice recorded in Acts. He had an established ministry or no one would have listened to him when he foretold by the Holy Spirit of the famine that was to come on Jerusalem and the believers there. We have no recorded history of Agibus being told to sit down and shut up. Hope this helps. But let me warn you, if you decide to accept the fact that we have Apostles and prophets today, you must be prepared to be critzied by those that disagree AND because there are cults that claim apostles, you must be able to recognize the false, because the false uses authority completely unbiblical and seek to control by misaplacation of the Word of God. Romans 8:14 does not say that all who are lead by apostles and prophets are sons of God.
