Great minds think alike 😉, back in 2006 I bought a travel trailer from a lady that worked with my mother because I was tired of the going back and forth with my kids father so I bought it and had a futon in front for my kids and it had a bed in the back room. My dad helped me fix some of the lights that were not working by just splitting an extension cord and using plug in and he got all good tires all around, I didn't have land at the time so I just rented a trailer park lot and actually ended up finding a used trailer for $1,000 that was in good condition and had all new flooring but just had to put electric plugs back in, new tub, carpet, cabinets etc and when done it looked like a brand new trailer almost so my kids and I were able to move in finally but I was still going to keep the travel trailer but long story short I had to move back to East Texas for my kids father in Prison and my mother stayed in the big trailer in West Texas for a while but then she was saying she was scared because someone broke in so she didn't want to stay any longer there. I was in East Texas still so told my mother just to sale everything and come back to East Texas so she did, right now I have 5 acres now but have had three trailers now and the last one just burned down so I am working to save money for something else but this time I am going to get something a little better and in payments because I am older now and have had back surgery so not a young chicken anymore lol and going to try and have mother on the truck with me for right now. If you ever come this way, I live 2 1/2 hours from Dallas Tx where the 5 acres are and I never can see comments on TH-cam so if anyone wants my FB is Shauna Rodriguez and from Pittsburg Texas.
Great find! I would plan on buying at least 1 spare tire, those tires don’t last long after sitting for years. I followed a TH-cam channel where they bought a brand new trailer and had 2 tires blow in the first few days they had it. The good thing about campers of that age is that they are easier to “remodel” without all of the fancy new electronics, gadgets and materials that have become standard in the last 10 - 15 years.
Good idea. It has a spare. But the spare is in worse shape than the other 4. So I will get a new one put on it. I got it to my property now. So it won’t be moving anywhere for a few months. But I will make sure I get one before that. Once I’m back from Tennessee I’m going to start fixing it up.
