@@bradycurtis2129 Lol because WWE isn't already a retirement home itself. When they're not poaching talent from other companies like TNA and NJPW, they keep bringing back old timers who have no business being in the ring like Goldberg, or just in general bringing back old timers to take TV time from those who deserve it. Most of these legends their signing from WWE are primarily backstage stuff from production to training up and coming talent with a few matches in the ring possibly. Doubtful that they put them in the spotlight and make them main eventers right away. Paul himself said that he's not looking to come back to be a full time in ring talent, but this is certainly a breath of fresh air for guy's who otherwise wouldn't even be considered to be trainers or backstage help because they aren't one of WWE's big name talents and instead are just told to stay home and collect a paycheck. I always like interviews where people talk about why they left one place for another like they have to justify it. It's the first time in a long time that most wrestlers have a choice that doesn't include going overseas or doing indy runs. @@jesse7747 A lot of people say that, but I think NXT (which is a WWE product) does a great job of developing young talent and introducing them to the WWE audience. 70% of this Roster wouldN´t even exist if it wasn`t for WWE. And when you say that, there is always coming someone from the side with "BuT Y2J iS a WCW GuY anD PuNk anD DanIelSon aRe maDe Stars bY RoH"...
Dudes...
A WCW Guy IS a WWE Guy! WWE= WWF+WCW!
ROH made no one a Star... in real Life I do not know 3 people that even know ROH exists! They made Stars? WTF are you talking about?!?!
And then they overrate the People that work there so heavily!
There is no place in this World where Kenny Omega and Young bucks will ever be more than a cheap NWO/DX Bootleg and mediocre midcarders!
There is no place in this World where Christopher Daniels and Kazarian will ever be relevant...
There is no place in this World where their cheap "shoot on WWE" promos will ever be cool and not give you the look of the cheapest TNA 2010 bootleg ever, which itself was only a WCW bootleg...
MJF "aRguaBlY thE grEateSt HeEl iN WrEstLinG"?!?! LOL! What a Joke! Like with Roh before...I do not know 3 people that know MJF exists! Or AEW, by the Way...
wanted to show AEW to a friend, after around 20 mins he said "let`s stop Bro, did already see all of that in 2012, when most of these people already were in WWE, only here the production is eye and ear cancer"...THAT is what he said to me^^
Little Prediction
in 3-4 years AEW will begin to struggle
in 5-6 years they will hire Russo,Bischoff,Hogan or/and Kevin nash in loose combination, maybe one, maybe some or maybe all 4 of them
in 7-8 Years AEW will close their doors and from then on, they will say "Bischoff/Hogan/Nash/Russo destroyed AEW, like they did with WCW 1 and WCW 2 (TNA 2010). DESPITE the Fact that their Business was broken before and they brought in Russo etc. to save the company which didn`t work.
Without Hogan and Nash WCW would have closed in 1998...without Hogan and Bischoff TNA would have closed in 2009.
Both times they were brought in to save the companies which didn`t work both times. And both times they did put the blame on Hogan, Nash, Russo and Bischoff...so..why not a 3rd time...
Renee is awesome! Been watching her work for yeaaars now from her days on the score up in Canada to the WWE and beyond... killin' it girl!!

His little "Evolution" slip up for the "Revolution" PPV did more to get online speculation going about Batista possible being the Hall Of Fame Worthy talent coming in for Revolution then it did to make people look at it as "Paul Wight slipped up and said Evolution"! I seen a lot of people thinking it was Batista coming because of that last week before the PPV last Sunday!
Where u dissapointed when christian cage came out? I was happy to see christian being utilized but I don't think he was the biggwr signing compared to Paul wight
I wouldn't say disappointed as much as underwhelmed. I've always been a fan of Christian, so it was cool to see him come to a place where they'll utilize his talent, but it is kind of disappointing that we won't get to see Edge and Christian as a tag team again anytime soon.
@@normbarrett21 I agree underwhelming is the word that came to mind. I didn't want christian to have to need edge tho and aew is perfect for him to show hes not just a tag partner he's christian cage who was a great world champion
@@flyinglow7218 I would assume the reason it was presented as such is because Christian's gonna be a full time wrestler as opposed to a backstage role?
@@flyinglow7218 Yeah, I was looking forward to seeing Christian do a really good singles run, but also team with Edge here and there for some good grudge matches with Orton and others they have issues with.

Renne's oral sessions are so relaxed and chilled out. Anyone that's on it must be able to really be themselves it seems without having to say stuff that seems forced. Great interviews.
I know Rene is pregnant but how many months along is she?
I wish Paul Wight as the Big Show would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
He definitely deserves it!
He will be in hall of fame he still got a good relationship with WWE

Idk why he keeps saying everyone saw this coming, I didn't! I thought he was going to retire last year and be in the WWE HoF this year, wtf?
Honestly both him and Christian had to be the biggest swerves in wrestling in quite awhile! He acts like this was super casual when it's a *BIG* deal!
I even say this was a bigger deal than Dean and Jericho, not talent wise but sending a message wise. WWE is actually in trouble now, that's a lot of heads!
Lol. Relax. Its more of a retirement home than anything & the ratings haven't changed.
Guy's like Show and Christian aren't wired to just sit home and do that.
@@soulessshadow5356 Well said, pretty much said what I was going to say to Brady Curtis, I mean WWE in my opinion still has good talent, Drew, and most of the younger guy but as someone who grew up loving Taker & Kane thier both gone Not buying into the Goldberg Hype sorry.... Very Nice to both hear and see you Renee I really do miss you as a backstage interviewer 😊
Congrats Renee on everything the pregnancy and becoming a US citizen so Congrats to you
Renee Paquette if you're reading this you need your own talk show. you're super talented. your oral sessions are just amazing. the way you and your guests talk is so natural so real so raw.
She'll end up getting one eventually. Like she'll have to eventually join ESPN or something.
Talk Is Jericho has some serious competition.
Chris Van Vliet as well
I was just thinking that.
Hannibal tv too
This is better than TIJ imo
I met Mr. Wight in 8th grade at a signing I was so in love with wrestling and he was the nicest person. I’m now 30 and I think my chance of becoming a wrestler has ended but maybe a manager who knows? But that tiny dream still lives cause the worlds largest athletic showed me he was a real person and talked to a fan like he was there to meet me. Thanks dude. I’m only 5’7, but some of my confidence I got from not only a giant, but THE GIANT.

Its that one thing that keeps coming up..."CREATIVE"..
Yo man, Wight is a really classy big guy. Like big guys don't ever get to dress sharp and classy on TV and Wight always did it. I always thought that was pretty cool bc WWE always finds a way to make a big guy look silly, or "sloppy" or otherwise comical.
I wish the audio was better but I'm so excited
I'm so happy Paul is moving on to focus on something more worth while for himself!

Who's next?
@Roystone Andrews 😠
Foley
this is a great interview, but man, was it filmed in a moving vehicle?
I always like interviews where people talk about why they left one place for another like they have to justify it. It's the first time in a long time that most wrestlers have a choice that doesn't include going overseas or doing indy runs. So it makes sense if you are some place for many years, especially some place that has too many talents and not enough spotlights that you would move where you could get more screen time. But at the end of the day I find it usually comes down to more money. I see AEW picking up all these wrestlers left and right, I just hope they don't end of with too many big names, not enough spotlights.
Thanks for the podcast Renee, needed this during another lockdown!

If he wrestles, he'll truly look like a giant as most of the AEW roster are smaller relative to WWE.
Nick Comoroto, Wardlow, Lance Archer, Dustin Rhodes, Brian Cage, Hobbs, Hager, Luchasaurus, Cezar Bononi, Bear Country, Butcher
Anyone else think these titles belong on another website? 👀

I hops it’s not becoming tna where wwe legends take over and from new talent
Thats exactly what it already is and was from the start.
Is there a full episode?
Yes he is older but they could've found something respectful for him to do on WWE, but Bruce Prichard is a huge reason why talent is leaving WWE
Did you not hear the "please retire" chants? Regardless, you wont be hearing them in AEW because in AEW Show is a HUGE asset. However, in WWE he's just old an guy in the way of younger talent with the potential to get over.
@@garynails1409 yeah you are right, but unfortunately WWE doesn't know how to use their young talent
@@jesse7747 A lot of people say that, but I think NXT (which is a WWE product) does a great job of developing young talent and introducing them to the WWE audience. Then when/if they get to the main shows, in my opinion, it's talents job to get over. Most on the young talent people say aren't being "used right" are great athletes but have no personality. That's a combination that might work in AEW but won't get you far in WWE.
@@garynails1409 good point in the past guys like Warrior, Randy, bret, Shawn, Austin, Rock etc were entertaining in so many ways
@@garynails1409 nope. WWE just doesn't like using young talent, they like relying on old guys.

Big Show's first time on AEW and he's promoting the debut of someone else lol "Hey, this is great! What am I going to do on my first appearance on television?" "You're going to talk about how awesome it is that we're getting someone else!" "Oh, okay."
I was surprised he didn't turn heel and immediately face after again.
I get your point, but that's what he wanted. He was serious about becoming a commentator and more of a personality over being an in-ring performer. Apparently, he thought it was cool that he had a scoop. Personally, I would've liked a bigger deal to be made out of his arrival as a talent, but he wants to be in a different role................... Tell ya this though, I can't wait until they have some chump start talking nonsense to the broadcast desk, and a 7 foot man starts slowly walking to the ring.
@@Danielson1818 That would be cool to see lol I think it would have been better to have someone else announce Christian's arrival. It took the steam out of Big Show. It would have also been fun if someone was picking on Tony Schiavone and J.R. and Big Show came up behind them lol
Also, as a guy who hasn't watched ANY wrestling in the past 10 year or so, its just really interesting to see little changes that come with the times. Like this AEW is another wrestling company now, and they make interviews like this and post it. Like they're leaning INTO the whole "kayfabe is dead" thing. I don't think any less of it or anything- it IS different than anything wrestling offered before. That's just what it became today. Interesting stuff.
This isn’t an AEW interview, it’s Renee Young’s podcast that isn’t affiliated with the company. The company generally tries to keep kayfabe on official programming.
