I reckon I need to buy more HT. I just hated the brushes until they changed them. The vacation polishes were my fav. The Saf collab was tempting but sold out before I could even decide... which brings up my main beef with this brand: buy now, decide later marketing. This is not an indie brand. If you're making a collection, show us what you're selling and sell us the product, not the limited availability. I'm not a Stanley cup polish buyer.
Omg not the Stanley cup lmao 😪 I completely understand though! I think they generally have gotten a lot better at least as far as stock/inventory goes, but I know they still lean into the fomo marketing with the little teases leading up to the launch, mainly to appease the detectives.. to be fair tho the Saf collection I think was maybe the first one last year that sold out almost right away, even previous LE launches ended up sticking around for months! If they do a second collab, I’d really hope they don’t sell out right away, but I can imagine how hard it would be to forecast when they’re both TH-cam titans 😅
Yeah, I think the saf collection was doomed from the start as far as availability goes. Plus, they’ve been hyping it up for a long time before release. But good news is most of their collections are permanent. And even some other limited edition ones are around for a long time. I just two weeks ago picked up the anniversary collection from the last summer. Now there is one shades sold out, but there’s still some others. They have seem to make more of their limited edition things as well, so that’s nice! Because I feel ya, I don’t wanna overbuy because of FOMO. But I also find myself like a month or two later being like dang I wish I bought this color or whatever. So yes, their skinny brushes are the worst. I’m definitely going to replace all of them with thick ones. I wish they just make that the standard instead of hearing it by types of polish and collections.
I agree, I found myself buying whole collections from Holo Taco and then only liking a few of them or that I already owned similar ones that I liked better. I could've saved myself some $$ if I didn't just fomo buy 😂
They could solve so much of this problem by just releasing polish swatches before launch. Safiya was the worst. They didn’t even show the polishes on stream in the 30 minutes before they went on sale.

It’s a shame those shades were LE bc they were great! And yeah I feel like a lot of people are sort of taking a step back & not picking up every collection, which is great! Jewel Toned crushed holo, with a COOL medium wine burgundy RED (not brown), a deep teal, an emerald green, a deep plum... give me my very late 80s palette. I'm so tired of browns and orangy reds. They remind me of my childhood(derogatory, 1970s).
I just tried Menchie the cat as a glitter topper with a thin coat, and OMG it is beautiful over ~everything~ I have tested! ❤ I especially loved it over HT’s existential crisis, Rogue Lacquer’s from the ashes we rise and dawn, Clionadh’s lightfast over a black base, Mooncat’s enchanted mist and a midsummer’s dream, ILNP’s eclipse, and any pastel linear! It has quickly rose to one of my favorite polishes, and honestly a must try imo 😊
Oo I love those combos! The Menchie glitter is def one of my favorites too, and I love wearing it in one coat over a sheer base for some subtle sparkle! ✨
the royalty trio was my absolute fave, it was such an exciting and unique concept for a collection to be designed by customers and the polishes themselves were stunning; LOVED to get another glitter from holo taco (my fave finish from them) so sad they were limited edition, once i run out, i can't dupe 😭

Yes to jewel-toned crushed holos! While my favorite polish was Never Tied Down, my favorite collections were the barista bundle and the stay grounded bundle. I wore each of the cremes 2-3 times this fall.
Omg yess I loved Never Tide Down!! The mix of flakies and shimmer etc was sooo mesmerizing 🤩 I’d love to see more shades in a similar formula 👀 I’m glad you enjoyed those bundles though!! Def so perfect for fall 🍂✨
The biggest problem with Trophy Life IMO was that it was way too cool-toned to be a good gold. I don't know if it's because of Cristine's personal skin tones or what, but until Bottle Service, Holo Taco consistently made their golds too cool-toned to look good on most people. Those who wanted silver were unhappy that it was gold, those who wanted gold were unhappy at how silvery it felt.
Ugh yes that’s so true that it’s way too cool toned! I feel like I generally did not like any of their yellows lol maybe with the exception of Banana Medicine, but other than that they always leaned more chartreuse imo. Bottle Service was great though!! I hope we see more warm toned shades this year ☀️
this is such a good comment thank you for explaining why I didn't like this collection. I was happy it was a rainbow collection, but this did not make me want to wear it as a skittle. It just didn't feel cohesive at all
i think the problem with the whole collection is how sensitive it is to application. Like, I'm pretty good at my nails at this point, and follow directions well, and could NOT stop getting bubbles. I only ever ended up wearing any of them with toppers that would cover that effect, and the "dry fast live fast" temporary nature of the polishes Does Not Work with my current physical ability to do my nails. (I can get the energy for it about once a week, so polishes that last a day or two are a Do Not Want.) I do like that I can use them as an accent nail if something screws up with one of my other nails, and not have it take long to do.
Loved this series! Thanks for sharing!! I think overall I pretty much agree with all of your rankings! I will say I think I like the chromes better than most people do (and I understand I’m in the minority!) because they are SO FAST to do a mani with. I only have Aquafoil specifically from the collection, but I’m thinking of picking up at least Iron Violet and possibly World’s First as well at some point. I do agree with many though about Trophy Life. It’s a shame Holo Taco has had, apparently, an extra difficult time with yellows, but Bottle Service is definitely a move in the right direction! The Pastel Don't Tell true crime/food puns theme runs through all the polish names & makes sense. It's like a true crime case. Too Good to be Blue = think it's Too good to be true that we found the killer or this clue. Banana Medicine = bad medicine, like someone was killed with poison... Etc.
Right I forgot about banana medicine tying into poison, but what about Pinky Swear? And I’m still not seeing the connection in general to them being pastels lol I feel like it would’ve made more sense for a Halloween themed collection 😅
I am super extra a lot of the time but I still LOVE the crushed holo formula. it makes me feel sophisticated and expensive, and is appropriate to have in interviews where you don't know if the person you are meeting is lame or not. Just extra enough 👍
I pretty much agree with you! I was Most excited for safiya’s collection but wasn’t actually excited once it was released? I too was Hoping for more vampy shades 😅 I didn’t like barista at first, I didn’t even buy one of them until this spring’s loyalty sale and actually love them now!

I think my “S” tier would be Pastel & Don’t Tell, Safiya Collection, and then Down to Earth. The colors in Pastel & Don’t Tell are just so perfect in my opinion and are so much better than any other pastel collection out there! The colors in the Safiya and Down to Earth collections were definitely very unique, but I really like having something different to try!
I just started buying Holo Taco in Jan 2024 (I was a nail biter for decades so I never invested in nail polish). Of the 12 HT polishes I have so far, Fifty Shades of Greige is my favourite! It is stunning! I wish I had grabbed some of the retro polishes before they left and the chrome polishes are to picky. I paid a lot of money for a base coat and 2 polishes (I do like the gold lol) and it chips easily and doesn't last long. I didn't do my research before going into the chromes and I learned my lesson. I love HT though and excited to see what 2024 brings!

I think i agree with the most of this list. The biggest difference is i could have the barista bundle as D. I just really hate the colour brown in general and i hated this collection. Despite me hating this collection the crushed holo formula is great and I cant wait to see more. It is a shame about the chromes, aquafoil is one of my favourite polishes from HT but that gold is awful! Sacraficial laquer was a stand out from me. I like bold colours and red is my favorite colour so it was nice to see something like this. I would like to see a nice bold emerald green from them at some point as their greens always tend to be yellow tinged and dont gel with me
Sacrificial lacquer is one of my favorites but it's still not the perfect red I really want from them. Someone at the lab needs to prick their finger and color match the result before it dries. (I say this as a diabetic, I have a nail polish that is the exact color of my blood, but I want it in holo taco's formulas, lol!) I have bought zero polishes from Barista because that color story is NOT meant for my skin tone, not even remotely.

The only reason I ended up with the barista bundle was because I have every HT polish she has released and the collectors side of me couldn't live with that gap 😂
Ok now I’m extra excited to see what collections are coming next! I have some FOMO about not grabbing some of the Safiya shades, but if they do a second collab I’ll very likely be all over it! Also wish I had picked up the retro collection. Theme-wise, it’s so perfect!

I loved the vacation collection because it had summery and wintery shades which is amazing for a global audience with fans in the northern and southern hemisphere. I know it’s so petty but I do kinda resent some of the pastel don’t tell collection shades for replacing shades I liked significantly more. Like crime and punishmint was not worth losing matcha maker and sea foam home.

I love your honesty 💅🏻 As I’ve never played with powered chrome, but I agree the polish looked metallic. As for the Holo Barista collection I really like them and I’d think a jewel toned collection would be so gorgeous.

Crushed holo for lifeeee!! I definitely agree with all your rankings. Barista bundle is hands down my most used of the polishes I own from HT. Overall, their toppers always shoot straight up to S tier if they were individual. Disco Dust, Fallen Flake and Rose Gold are just stunning. But I’m also a topper lover. I also really love the fall crème collection. All of the their formulas were really nice. I’m like you in that I’m going to be much pickier this year with which polishes I pick up so I’m hoping it’ll be a good year all around in the nail polish world!

Pretty much entirely agree with your tier list! The only thing I would move in my own would probably have been the Safiya collection, I don't watch her content and the shades from that one just didn't do it for me. I generally don't buy whole collections but I did pick up the whole set of retro jellies because they are just perfect imo 🌈 so fun! I've been sleeping on that barista set though, I grabbed Burnt Bridges on a whim and adore it sooooo maybe I need to pick up the barista shades... ☕👀

Menchie Cat Eye is a favorite for me too. I don't buy a whole lot of Holo Taco but we match opinions on the top tier choices. Love this series. Lots of fun!
For me, Safiya collection box was S tier and Safiya polishes were C tier. Spirit Fingers was the only one that wowed me. The anniversary retro set was the best of the year for me. Theming, box, colors, formulas, every aspect was well done.
Omg yeah I could split the box from the polishes I would probably do the same ranking 🙈 but somee of the polishes would still be in A or B. Yeah they really nailed it with Retro!! SO good 😍
I loved the series thank you for putting these together 💖. I am really curious to see if brands (boutique and indies) will keep up the release speed. Remaining creative is one thing but I for myself can sure say it starts to exhaust me and while a year ago I was still looking forward to them all, I now already start thinking „oh it‘s time again?“ and bin the newsletter. I wonder if anyone else gets exhausted over the mass of releases 🤔 but then it is also nice that there is something for every preference and taste and I just need to put on my release focus goggles 🤓 for those that really peek my interest

I have all these collections/bundles with the exception of Safia's where I only picked Spirit fingers and Berry me in holo...I love their crushed holo formula and believe many others do so we must be a sizable minority😂...I agree with your rankings...loved the birthday trio too....and the holo Royalty bundle....

definitely agree with your ranking. my feelings towards HT this year was, I like 2 shades per collection, which led me feeling like everything was sort of mid. And low and behold, B has the most polishes on your tier list. Except Barista, that collection is just special. :D

Absolutely need more crushed holo, particularly in tones of fall. I got 4/5 from that collection and it, along with the retro collection, would be my only S tier collections (despite not purchasing any of the jellies. Can’t stand nail line on myself 😅). Interested in seeing what they have to offer this year, although I do appreciate saving some coin because apart from barista, I only purchased a polish or two from a couple other collections.

B Tier: Fire & Ice- “Halogen Glow”, “Scorched Earth” are pretty. Purrfect Birthday -Zyler and Menchie save it. C Tier: 1 Coat Chromes- “Pink Steel” is the best one. Royal Debut- because I think it’s sweet that she let the customers make them. Vacation- “Beach Please” and “Private Villa” are nice. D Tier: Safiya- Spirit Fingers only Declassified 001- Fifty Shades if Greuge is the only one F Tier: Pastel & Don’t Tell (😂😂 true crime cream pastels! I pretty much agreed with most of this list. The retro collection would hold my top S-tier spot. The only one I wildly disagreed with was Safiya. I’d put the collection in C-tier. Other than Spirit Fingers, I hated the rest of that collection. I still feel duped with Bat Bitch. The shimmer is so subtle it’s basically a worse OCB.
Yeah Retro was soo fun!! And omg 😭 I know a few people felt that way about the Safiya shades too, I personally liked bat bitch but it really is on the subtle side 😓
I think Barista was actually pretty popular, right? Because HT doesn’t do a lot of “neutrals” so it filled a gap and felt refreshing, it’s “work appropriate” but still sparkly, and it’s become kind of a wedding mani set, right? 😂💕 I think it’s a fun collection, I just don’t wear neutrals much 🤭! I don’t really buy collections, but my favorite _polish_ from HT in 2023 was Spirit Fingers because I’m basic 😅! Fun ranking! I also loved how they branched out into more formulas! Even if some were a miss like the chromes, it’s good to swing big and miss rather than just stay frozen!

I love the word “atrocious” to describe Trophy Life. I feel like virtually all HT yellows and golds, especially the linear yellows, lean a bit green and consequently I don’t like them.

I LOVED the crushed holo’s. My fav collection of the year by far that I would put in S tier was The Barista Bundle. ☝️🎉 The worst for me was the One coat chromes. It’s just hard to really perfect a chrome look with reg polish. I would give that collection an F 😬. I would give Fire and Ice a D. I just did not enjoy these at all.🤷🏼♀️ The majority for me would lie in C tier: Pastel, Retro, Vacation, and lastly Declassified. I would give Down to Earth a B. I did like the color scheme for fall a lot, and the topper! ✨ In the A category I would have Safiya, After Party, and Royal debut. I really loved all of these! 💖

Sorry I didn’t elaborate on that at all lol! The cuticle oil works for a lot of people, just not for me. My nails are thin and prone to peeling and while using jojoba oil is highly recommended/preferred, my nails just respond better when I use a blend of oils! ☺️
For the most part I agree with your ranking. I would put the Safiya collection in B just because I felt it was overhyped and ended up being lowkey disappointed especially with Spirit Fingers. It’s a shimmer everyone has done shimmers so I didn’t really get why people were going wild for it. The shades Brucie and Bat Bitch were also a bit of a let down but Berry Me In Holo stole my heart. I felt that it was so underrated compared to Spirit Fingers. I love the crushed holos and getting such a beautiful pink made me so happy! I hope holo taco releases more of them too

I hear you, I hate creams that are 3 coaters! I think when I swatched the purple somewhat recently, it was really opaque on 1 coat so I wonder if they’ll thicken up over time and be 1-2 coaters ?
To clarify the Pastel and don’t tell collection theme, and the inspiration behind it… Cristine is/was a Crime Statistics Analyst for the government of Canada. Fans know this and understand the references for the most part, combined with Spring/easter vibes. It made me laugh and I thought it was pretty genius. I agree with your S tier, but Retro was my #1 slightly ahead of Barista. And I loved the chromes (but haven’t worn Trophy Life yet). Aquafoil Pink Steel and Iron Violet are really cool and different than anything else in my collection. I stan 😅 But Curfew Crasher has my heart! Along with Spirit Fingers. Too many good shades! (Also a few I hated)

I reckon I need to buy more HT. I just hated the brushes until they changed them. The vacation polishes were my fav. The Saf collab was tempting but sold out before I could even decide... which brings up my main beef with this brand: buy now, decide later marketing. This is not an indie brand. If you're making a collection, show us what you're selling and sell us the product, not the limited availability. I'm not a Stanley cup polish buyer.
Omg not the Stanley cup lmao 😪 I completely understand though! I think they generally have gotten a lot better at least as far as stock/inventory goes, but I know they still lean into the fomo marketing with the little teases leading up to the launch, mainly to appease the detectives.. to be fair tho the Saf collection I think was maybe the first one last year that sold out almost right away, even previous LE launches ended up sticking around for months! If they do a second collab, I’d really hope they don’t sell out right away, but I can imagine how hard it would be to forecast when they’re both TH-cam titans 😅
Yeah, I think the saf collection was doomed from the start as far as availability goes. Plus, they’ve been hyping it up for a long time before release. But good news is most of their collections are permanent. And even some other limited edition ones are around for a long time. I just two weeks ago picked up the anniversary collection from the last summer. Now there is one shades sold out, but there’s still some others.
They have seem to make more of their limited edition things as well, so that’s nice! Because I feel ya, I don’t wanna overbuy because of FOMO. But I also find myself like a month or two later being like dang I wish I bought this color or whatever.
So yes, their skinny brushes are the worst. I’m definitely going to replace all of them with thick ones. I wish they just make that the standard instead of hearing it by types of polish and collections.
I agree, I found myself buying whole collections from Holo Taco and then only liking a few of them or that I already owned similar ones that I liked better. I could've saved myself some $$ if I didn't just fomo buy 😂
They could solve so much of this problem by just releasing polish swatches before launch.
Safiya was the worst. They didn’t even show the polishes on stream in the 30 minutes before they went on sale.

Jewel Toned crushed holo, with a COOL medium wine burgundy RED (not brown), a deep teal, an emerald green, a deep plum... give me my very late 80s palette. I'm so tired of browns and orangy reds. They remind me of my childhood(derogatory, 1970s).
I just tried Menchie the cat as a glitter topper with a thin coat, and OMG it is beautiful over ~everything~ I have tested! ❤
I especially loved it over HT’s existential crisis, Rogue Lacquer’s from the ashes we rise and dawn, Clionadh’s lightfast over a black base, Mooncat’s enchanted mist and a midsummer’s dream, ILNP’s eclipse, and any pastel linear!
It has quickly rose to one of my favorite polishes, and honestly a must try imo 😊
Oo I love those combos! The Menchie glitter is def one of my favorites too, and I love wearing it in one coat over a sheer base for some subtle sparkle! ✨
the royalty trio was my absolute fave, it was such an exciting and unique concept for a collection to be designed by customers and the polishes themselves were stunning; LOVED to get another glitter from holo taco (my fave finish from them)

While my favorite polish was Never Tied Down, my favorite collections were the barista bundle and the stay grounded bundle. I wore each of the cremes 2-3 times this fall.
Omg yess I loved Never Tide Down!! The mix of flakies and shimmer etc was sooo mesmerizing 🤩 I’d love to see more shades in a similar formula 👀 I’m glad you enjoyed those bundles though!! Def so perfect for fall 🍂✨
Love the formula for Never Tied Down but the color is just so much brighter than i normally wear.
The biggest problem with Trophy Life IMO was that it was way too cool-toned to be a good gold. I don't know if it's because of Cristine's personal skin tones or what, but until Bottle Service, Holo Taco consistently made their golds too cool-toned to look good on most people. Those who wanted silver were unhappy that it was gold, those who wanted gold were unhappy at how silvery it felt.
This is why I liked the Stay Grounded bundle so much - it was warmed toned. Bottle Service is also a great polish
Ugh yes that’s so true that it’s way too cool toned! I feel like I generally did not like any of their yellows lol maybe with the exception of Banana Medicine, but other than that they always leaned more chartreuse imo. Bottle Service was great though!! I hope we see more warm toned shades this year ☀️
this is such a good comment thank you for explaining why I didn't like this collection. I was happy it was a rainbow collection, but this did not make me want to wear it as a skittle. It just didn't feel cohesive at all

i think the problem with the whole collection is how sensitive it is to application. Like, I'm pretty good at my nails at this point, and follow directions well, and could NOT stop getting bubbles. I only ever ended up wearing any of them with toppers that would cover that effect, and the "dry fast live fast" temporary nature of the polishes Does Not Work with my current physical ability to do my nails. (I can get the energy for it about once a week, so polishes that last a day or two are a Do Not Want.) I do like that I can use them as an accent nail if something screws up with one of my other nails, and not have it take long to do.

Loved this series! Thanks for sharing!! I think overall I pretty much agree with all of your rankings! I will say I think I like the chromes better than most people do (and I understand I’m in the minority!) because they are SO FAST to do a mani with. I only have Aquafoil specifically from the collection, but I’m thinking of picking up at least Iron Violet and possibly World’s First as well at some point. I do agree with many though about Trophy Life. It’s a shame Holo Taco has had, apparently, an extra difficult time with yellows, but Bottle Service is definitely a move in the right direction!

The Pastel Don't Tell true crime/food puns theme runs through all the polish names & makes sense. It's like a true crime case. Too Good to be Blue = think it's Too good to be true that we found the killer or this clue. Banana Medicine = bad medicine, like someone was killed with poison... Etc.
Right I forgot about banana medicine tying into poison, but what about Pinky Swear? And I’m still not seeing the connection in general to them being pastels lol I feel like it would’ve made more sense for a Halloween themed collection 😅

I think my “S” tier would be Pastel & Don’t Tell, Safiya Collection, and then Down to Earth. The colors in Pastel & Don’t Tell are just so perfect in my opinion and are so much better than any other pastel collection out there! The colors in the Safiya and Down to Earth collections were definitely very unique, but I really like having something different to try!

I just started buying Holo Taco in Jan 2024 (I was a nail biter for decades so I never invested in nail polish). Of the 12 HT polishes I have so far, Fifty Shades of Greige is my favourite! It is stunning! I wish I had grabbed some of the retro polishes before they left and the chrome polishes are to picky. I paid a lot of money for a base coat and 2 polishes (I do like the gold lol) and it chips easily and doesn't last long. I didn't do my research before going into the chromes and I learned my lesson. I love HT though and excited to see what 2024 brings!

I do think you could wear topcoat without “ruining’ the effect to make it last longer though! but yes still excited to see what else we get this year 😁

I think i agree with the most of this list. The biggest difference is i could have the barista bundle as D. I just really hate the colour brown in general and i hated this collection. Despite me hating this collection the crushed holo formula is great and I cant wait to see more.
It is a shame about the chromes, aquafoil is one of my favourite polishes from HT but that gold is awful!
Sacraficial laquer was a stand out from me. I like bold colours and red is my favorite colour so it was nice to see something like this. I would like to see a nice bold emerald green from them at some point as their greens always tend to be yellow tinged and dont gel with me
Sacrificial lacquer is one of my favorites but it's still not the perfect red I really want from them. Someone at the lab needs to prick their finger and color match the result before it dries. (I say this as a diabetic, I have a nail polish that is the exact color of my blood, but I want it in holo taco's formulas, lol!)
I have bought zero polishes from Barista because that color story is NOT meant for my skin tone, not even remotely.

I loved the vacation collection because it had summery and wintery shades which is amazing for a global audience with fans in the northern and southern hemisphere.
I know it’s so petty but I do kinda resent some of the pastel don’t tell collection shades for replacing shades I liked significantly more. Like crime and punishmint was not worth losing matcha maker and sea foam home.

I love your honesty 💅🏻 As I’ve never played with powered chrome, but I agree the polish looked metallic. As for the Holo Barista collection I really like them and I’d think a jewel toned collection would be so gorgeous.

Crushed holo for lifeeee!! I definitely agree with all your rankings. Barista bundle is hands down my most used of the polishes I own from HT. Overall, their toppers always shoot straight up to S tier if they were individual. Disco Dust, Fallen Flake and Rose Gold are just stunning. But I’m also a topper lover. I also really love the fall crème collection. All of the their formulas were really nice. I’m like you in that I’m going to be much pickier this year with which polishes I pick up so I’m hoping it’ll be a good year all around in the nail polish world!

Pretty much entirely agree with your tier list! The only thing I would move in my own would probably have been the Safiya collection, I don't watch her content and the shades from that one just didn't do it for me. I generally don't buy whole collections but I did pick up the whole set of retro jellies because they are just perfect imo 🌈 so fun! I've been sleeping on that barista set though, I grabbed Burnt Bridges on a whim and adore it sooooo maybe I need to pick up the barista shades... ☕👀

For me, Safiya collection box was S tier and Safiya polishes were C tier. Spirit Fingers was the only one that wowed me. The anniversary retro set was the best of the year for me. Theming, box, colors, formulas, every aspect was well done.
Omg yeah I could split the box from the polishes I would probably do the same ranking 🙈 but somee of the polishes would still be in A or B. Yeah they really nailed it with Retro!! SO good 😍
I loved the series thank you for putting these together 💖. I am really curious to see if brands (boutique and indies) will keep up the release speed. Remaining creative is one thing but I for myself can sure say it starts to exhaust me and while a year ago I was still looking forward to them all, I now already start thinking „oh it‘s time again?“ and bin the newsletter. I wonder if anyone else gets exhausted over the mass of releases 🤔 but then it is also nice that there is something for every preference and taste and I just need to put on my release focus goggles 🤓 for those that really peek my interest

I have all these collections/bundles with the exception of Safia's where I only picked Spirit fingers and Berry me in holo...I love their crushed holo formula and believe many others do so we must be a sizable minority😂...I agree with your rankings...loved the birthday trio too....and the holo Royalty bundle....

definitely agree with your ranking. my feelings towards HT this year was, I like 2 shades per collection, which led me feeling like everything was sort of mid. And low and behold, B has the most polishes on your tier list. Except Barista, that collection is just special. :D

Absolutely need more crushed holo, particularly in tones of fall. I got 4/5 from that collection and it, along with the retro collection, would be my only S tier collections (despite not purchasing any of the jellies. Can’t stand nail line on myself 😅). Interested in seeing what they have to offer this year, although I do appreciate saving some coin because apart from barista, I only purchased a polish or two from a couple other collections.

I pretty much agreed with most of this list. The retro collection would hold my top S-tier spot. The only one I wildly disagreed with was Safiya. I’d put the collection in C-tier. Other than Spirit Fingers, I hated the rest of that collection. I still feel duped with Bat Bitch. The shimmer is so subtle it’s basically a worse OCB.
Yeah Retro was soo fun!! And omg 😭 I know a few people felt that way about the Safiya shades too, I personally liked bat bitch but it really is on the subtle side 😓
I think Barista was actually pretty popular, right? Because HT doesn’t do a lot of “neutrals” so it filled a gap and felt refreshing, it’s “work appropriate” but still sparkly, and it’s become kind of a wedding mani set, right? 😂💕 I think it’s a fun collection, I just don’t wear neutrals much 🤭!
I don’t really buy collections, but my favorite _polish_ from HT in 2023 was Spirit Fingers because I’m basic 😅!

I love the word “atrocious” to describe Trophy Life. I feel like virtually all HT yellows and golds, especially the linear yellows, lean a bit green and consequently I don’t like them.

I LOVED the crushed holo’s. My fav collection of the year by far that I would put in S tier was The Barista Bundle. ☝️🎉 The worst for me was the One coat chromes. It’s just hard to really perfect a chrome look with reg polish. I would give that collection an F 😬. I would give Fire and Ice a D. I just did not enjoy these at all.🤷🏼♀️ The majority for me would lie in C tier: Pastel, Retro, Vacation, and lastly Declassified. I would give Down to Earth a B. I did like the color scheme for fall a lot, and the topper! ✨ In the A category I would have Safiya, After Party, and Royal debut. I really loved all of these! 💖

Those ended up surprising me. Makes total sense the majority are in C though with the exception of Down to Earth, it was a gorgeous line up! And love your A tier too 😍😍
@@PolishedYogi I just don’t use toppers a lot, and the red and blue/great didn’t appeal to me. 🤷🏼♀️ But I did pick up Freezer burn as a reward when they offered it. But I really super hope they do more of the crushed holos! 😍✨ Has to be one of my fav finishes they have ever done!

Sorry I didn’t elaborate on that at all lol! The cuticle oil works for a lot of people, just not for me. My nails are thin and prone to peeling and while using jojoba oil is highly recommended/preferred, my nails just respond better when I use a blend of oils! ☺️

For the most part I agree with your ranking. I would put the Safiya collection in B just because I felt it was overhyped and ended up being lowkey disappointed especially with Spirit Fingers. It’s a shimmer everyone has done shimmers so I didn’t really get why people were going wild for it. The shades Brucie and Bat Bitch were also a bit of a let down but Berry Me In Holo stole my heart. I felt that it was so underrated compared to Spirit Fingers. I love the crushed holos and getting such a beautiful pink made me so happy! I hope holo taco releases more of them too

I do get what you mean though where everyone is freaking out over it meanwhile so many other brands have already done that finish before, and mooncat’s smokescreen was pretty much a close alternative lol.. but i get its exciting because its new to Holo Taco. I def would love to see them continue to branch out to diff finishes! but also making them diff than whats on the market lol. Berry Me was beautifuuul too, def underrated! we needed a warm pink from them, it sucks that it was LE 😭

I didn't buy any of the pastel set. They ended up being three coaters and couldn't see doing three coats on a cream. 🤷
I hear you, I hate creams that are 3 coaters! I think when I swatched the purple somewhat recently, it was really opaque on 1 coat so I wonder if they’ll thicken up over time and be 1-2 coaters ?
To clarify the Pastel and don’t tell collection theme, and the inspiration behind it… Cristine is/was a Crime Statistics Analyst for the government of Canada. Fans know this and understand the references for the most part, combined with Spring/easter vibes. It made me laugh and I thought it was pretty genius. I agree with your S tier, but Retro was my #1 slightly ahead of Barista. And I loved the chromes (but haven’t worn Trophy Life yet). Aquafoil Pink Steel and Iron Violet are really cool and different than anything else in my collection. I stan 😅 But Curfew Crasher has my heart! Along with Spirit Fingers. Too many good shades! (Also a few I hated)

@@PolishedYogifall cremes, 🫣 ☕️ (except for Nightshade which is an ok base for lite mode or toppers). Just not my vibe, but my wallet got a break which was nice. Brick wall and grounded? Hard no from me. I do want to love not pressed for its uniqueness… but I just can’t. I swear I don’t hate nature! 😅
