Thank you for showing the speaker from the inside. I like such films the most, and thanks to them, users do not have to disassembly their subwoofers. A large magnet, the speaker looks good. How do you rate this subwoofer?
Go to mark: 3:19 top left circuit, Do you see the 820 Ohm fried resistor? I do. Common with this sub amp. It is only a 3Watt. Replace it with a 10watt and add wires to move it to a heat sink.

It's unfortunate that Klipsch went with a cheaper 2 magnet woofer rather than one large magnet which definitely makes a difference. Regardless though, I'm a Klipsch Sound System owner too.
Multiple, stacked magnets are no more or less effective than one large one. Multiple small round magnets arranged in a donut shape (Focal, Epique), are especially effective when using rare earth neodymium, samarium cobalt, etc.. This woofer is actually surprisingly well built, with an extended length 2 inch diameter voice coil. The magnet is stacked to give it depth allowing it to control the extra excursion. It just isn’t pretty, doesn’t need to be. There’s a specific requirement depending on the design and construction. To a great, almost absolute degree, the size is determined by the application. There are a lot of really BIG magnet speakers on the market that sound like shiz… Check out the Morel line of large voice coil diameter, neodymium configurations that simply bury larger, impressive looking, inferiorsounding subs. For the most part, especially in audio, you get what you pay for.
@@steveschwartz9421 yup motor force calculations are different and it's also based on the grade of ferrite and neo along with how the motor is magnetized to get the BL specs of its TS parameters along with how it interacts with the voice coils and soft parts. Its a big balancing act between cone control, excursion, efficiency etc.. bigger magnets with bigger voice coils and stiffer suspension, you can throw a lot of power to before it wakes up and can have much higher capabilities even in a smaller enclosure. meanwhile a medium strength magnet with softer suspension and smaller coil will need less power to get loud but requires a larger enclosure.
@@Techscrews Hm, I can tell for sure that some of the caps have started leaking fluid. But they could be working still, yes. @@swllz thank you. I thought about that, but in the mean time I bought a rockin' SVS sub. Don't think my wife would tolerate me bringing the old one back to life as well. haha
