MrNiceGuy couldn't agree more, mystery is why they couldn't get this right in Fallout 4, technically speaking F4 is better graphically but just couldn't capture the story elements of New Vegas.
@@AngeloSaim 100%. New Vegas has much better writing when it comes to quest story lines etc. While it cant use its graphics to world build as well as F4, it makes up for it with incredible writing.
There is another option concerning the captain in the tower; sneaking in, listening about the bomb, running to the bomb and defusing it (provided you have the explosives skill up enough) THEN reporting the captain to the Colonel. He will be arrested and will show up in a jail cell in a room opposite where you interrogate the Centurion. Everyone lives, nobody dies and nothing gets blown up. Result.
On my second play through I went to listen in on the spys conversion but when I went into the watch tower he was at the door and caught me looking at and had to kill him so I diddent have enough time to stop the bomb on the monorail.
About the interrogation quest, I had a very bad relationship with the legion, but I pretended that I was a emissary from Caesar and said that Caesar was furious with him and that I was there to kill him, then he started to say all the information that I need accidentally, the best part was when he tried to say to Boyd that I was a legion spy trying to kill him and he started begging for his life
thats an inteligence speech check, for that option to appear you need at least 8 or more intelligence points and honestly in my opinion its the most hilarious one
Again, the divergence isn't a single event, so I think they went with a iconic Korean/50s era fighter jet to make the game feel realistic, buy by the 50's especially late 50s, America had already broken the sound barrier.
Great video Oxhorn! I ordered your new shirt as well for my son. I realized that your new shirt is not only fallout related, but also related to real life,. I am having a very bad day. When I have days like these I watch your videos, Oxhorn. You've got a great voice and you're super calming. Thank you for making these videos.
If there's one thing the Legion knows how to do, it's subterfuge. Seriously, the way the Frumentarii can disguise themselves and insert themselves into positions amongst their enemies for years, even decades, without notice is phenomenal. It's one of those things that makes you wonder how doomed mankind would be if the Legion's military presence were at least equal to the NCR's.
@Oxhorn Not sure why you didn't cover it here, but when interrogating silus theres is an option to PRETEND to work for the Legion if you have high intelligence and convince him that the Legion sent you to kill him before he can spill the beans. It was pretty interesting to watch in my playthrough and was hoping you would show that, not sure why you didn't. Even with that this was still a great video as always, keep up the good work.
As far as Silus is concerned, there's supposed to be a fourth option. You can fake being a legion member, and tell Silus that he was supposed to die. The fact that he didn't upsets Ceasar. he'll freak out and yell for the courel to help him! He'll talk.
So me and a couple of buddies actually went to the real McCarren airport with our NCR soldier cosplays and went around saying things that random NCR NPCs say We got kicked out
Aye, it's the Camp McCarran series! I always loved helping the NCR in these quests because something about the military atmosphere made me happy. Not sure why. Either way, happy to see this series and can't wait for the next episode! Awesome work Ox, very excited!
Hey Oxhorn, I’m replaying Fallout NV again after many years (I never originally finished it - long story). Anyway, thanks for these vids. I really enjoy seeing this “oldie but goodie” game played through by you.
I get this is a game and not everything is life sized for the sack of budget and convenience, but man this is a small ass airport, just how exactly are these planes supposed to lift off when their is barely any space for the planes to speed up to fly at all?
Brandon Lyon my excuse is advanced technology or something, but fo4 had full runways. So I have no idea, probably just one of the not so important things
I was thinking more in the pre-war perspective, just how is this a functioning airport in the real world. The NCR air force seems to only be made up of helicopters which don't need the runways, but before the war this is supposed to be a conventional passenger airport yet their seems to be next to no space for the planes to lift off or even land for that matter without crashing into the wall.
Maybe those walls aren't pre-war maybe the walls were put up sometime after the war or maybe there was walls but they didn't go all the way around maybe they were added on to later to close up the base
There's a very long strip outside the wall. I'm thinking the walls are post-war. Maybe they used the machines from vault 21 to make them, similar to how they used them to make walls around Vegas.
I just LOVED interrogating that legion guy Boyd is a treat I was traveling with someone else and went and got Boone (just for fun) kinda wish we had more options to play up her “crazy” angle make faces at him through the glass press your face against it to freak him out
McCarran is a gold mine for quests, even some unmarked ones as well, the whole spy quest is a bit tricky at first but i figured out the best way to handle it, Eaves on Curtis, Kill Him then take the codes so you can deactivate the bomb in the vent without a skill check. for the record Boone approves of this course of action.

I had no idea how close I came to screwing that up :( Amazing video as always Oxhorn!!
In my game when I helped Boyd I pretended to be a legion member with my speech level then rubbed it in his face because of how easy it was to illude him he was so mad

Just now i realized i never subscribed to your channel, thank you so much for helping me understand almost everything in this massive game, first time i played it i never had any idea of any of this kind of missions. Thank you so much for helping me redisover such a jewel.
They should have swapped the back story of the male and female protagonists depending on who you chose. The sole survivor's skill only makes sense when the protagonist is a former soldier.
It's funny how they the devs gave the guy with a legion name the most suspected position but the guy who was doing the espionage was just some random dude named Curtis
I enjoy all three games, but New Vegas is my favorite. I used to hate 4 due to how vanilla it is at times, but there are a lot of things to like about it. ESPECIALLY Far Harbor
Tip: For Silus, if you want to speed up the fight, you can use some brass knuckles to do the job. One-two hits in the first part will get his health pass half. And in the second part, one hit and a maybe a few normal punches will finally make him talk. That if your unarmed is decent say 50-60.
There is another interesting way to get Silus to talk. If you have an intelligence of 8 or above, you can lie to him and convince him you are an agent of the legion. Complete with fluent Latin, you can threaten to kill him before he gives the NCR any information, and he will tell you what he knows by accident. I really loved it because of the time that Obsidian took to put correct Latin in to give it that extra immersion!
So what happens if you listen in on the conversation in the radio tower, but then run off to disarm the bomb without stealing the activation code? That sounds like the only way you could feasibly thwart the plan to blow up the monorail *and* catch the guy before he kills himself.
Oxhorn, they're is another way to interrogate Silus. If you have a high enough intelligence, you can trick him into thinking you are part of the Legion. So he trusts you and he gives you the information.
Strange. I had high rep with the Legion in my playthough and I spoke to Silus in Latin which translated to telling him that he is weak and is a traitor which made him think that I was a Legion assassin to get him in which Silus tells Boyd that I'm an agent to the Legion and it got him scared where he gives me info.
i like the fact that this mission locks you in the explosion of the train because you haven''t been cautious enough in not telling anyone (in this case Curtis) about the infiltration in the tower. That being said, when i did this mission, i had already made the one where vulpes sends you to protect the woman that the omertas were going to kill and i knew alredy that curtis was the spy, so i was hoping that there would be some way to uncover him to hsu after i told him that i was with the legion (actually not, i killed cesar and vulpes at that point), but it only told me about blowing the monorail myself and i couldn't use any of his materials as evidence.
hi oxhorn, i love your video:) i think that in this case you missed something: when interrogating Silus you have a completly different speech option, in fact you can pretend to be a cesar legion assassin, so silus would confess in order to protect himself from cesar's revenge. :)
I miss the part that you talk about the new radio dialogs that some missions unlock. In my last playthrough i forgot to listen to Curtis and rushed to the monorail just to see it explode and on top of it the Mr New Vegas kept reminding me of my mistake for the rest of the game.
Great video but what about the high intelligence option where the Courier can pass for a Legion assassin? It's so much fun to spurt out Latin quotations like "Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes" or "Corruptio optimis pessima."
You missed the inelegance checks to get info from him by convincing him you are a legion assassin! Though this may only be for male couriers because of the legions stance on women.
I can see Ceasar bending a few rules as long as they get results. The Legion has been around long enough for women to be completely indoctrinated in their beliefs. A female spy would be less suspicious in certain situations.
He always could pull a Tyrion Lannister and tell each of his lieutenants about a different Supply route. then scout out where the Raiders are ready to attack, thus knowing who gave them the information.
"You can only gain access to the monorail if you have liked faction reputation" Ooooooor, if you steal a NCR suit of armor like I do, every playthrough 😂
Oxhorn I just completed the interigation part and if your character has 8 inteligence you can trick him into thinking you are working with Caesar and he will talk. He also gets really scared and its funny
Fun fact: The NCR and the Enclave never saw eye to eye on issues since their establishment in the West coast. Longtime Fallout fans would know this despite the fact that both are founded on Old World principles.
i wish the airport had brighter lights..also i wish there was a player home(or something of that nature) near the airport..maybe an old passenger airplane
Jw, any chance you can do more creature lore. Like youve kinda done vids on supermutants for fallout 4 but what about mirelurks, deathclaws, vault 87 supermutants or the masters army
Great video!! I really like your Videos Oxhorn and I really have been able to understand fallout lore thanks to you. Also I found it funny how closely my name is to Cook Cook.
Remember dont shoot the captain.if you shoot him well like you know it still the train is explode.if not you can tell the col.shu tell him "it was curtist" he said"i will send the man out there to captured him and send him to jail"and then mission succed
Even if the monorail blows up you can eventually get it back after a while. The monorail came back in my game after hearing the ncr soldiers say that the monorail is back
In the quest "Not Worth a Hill of Corn and Beans" there's a bug where if you pick "Can anything be done to improve your supplies?" it will make Fitz, and Ruby Nash never have the dialogue option to recruit them and finish the quest. Which means that the quest is dead before you even start.

They should have swapped the back story of the male and female protagonists depending on who you chose. The sole survivor's skill only makes sense when the protagonist is a former soldier.
@@JollyOldCanuck not necessarily. A lawyer is able to take survival and shooting lessons
@@dathunderman4 doesn’t explain the Power Armour training which before the Great War was a military only skill.
That's Laura bailey for you
Voice of serana as well
It's funny how they the devs gave the guy with a legion name the most suspected position but the guy who was doing the espionage was just some random dude named Curtis
Hey oxhorn congrats on 700,000 subs
I never played any fallouts until your videos, now I have 3,nv, and 4 lol great video yet again, keep it up
Rocco 44 I had 4 and 3 before I watched ox then I recently got new Vegas a few months ago
I enjoy all three games, but New Vegas is my favorite. I used to hate 4 due to how vanilla it is at times, but there are a lot of things to like about it. ESPECIALLY Far Harbor
This quest took me forever to finish, it kept glitching, as the spy wouldn't spawn at the time he's meant to.
I really loved it because of the time that Obsidian took to put correct Latin in to give it that extra immersion!
boomers and powder gangers don't EVER get along well... I guess they just have an *EXPLOSIVE* relationship.
BATMAN *IS A FAN OF PUNS*
I only have such a relation with powder gangers. The boomers are relatively close xD
In my playthrough I killed both of them
wow, good job kiddo. you should go speak to the old lady. in my experience, she loves jokes.
the writing in the interrogation... flawless!!
So what happens if you listen in on the conversation in the radio tower, but then run off to disarm the bomb without stealing the activation code? That sounds like the only way you could feasibly thwart the plan to blow up the monorail *and* catch the guy before he kills himself.
Lol all the soldiers with the runs using the latrine. Its 12:30 am and im dropping quite the deuce myself.
"Just scare him a little"
"Pain IS scary"
Oxhorn, they're is another way to interrogate Silus. If you have a high enough intelligence, you can trick him into thinking you are part of the Legion. So he trusts you and he gives you the information.
Strange. I had high rep with the Legion in my playthough and I spoke to Silus in Latin which translated to telling him that he is weak and is a traitor which made him think that I was a Legion assassin to get him in which Silus tells Boyd that I'm an agent to the Legion and it got him scared where he gives me info.
Boyd: "How about we skin him?"
Ox: "I'm in."
"More beans, Colonel?" "I think y'all have had enough!" -Oh wait this is Camp McCarran and not the campfire scene from Blazing Saddles.
Sinapus yessssss! Thank you!!
I actually really liked Boyd's sarcasm and wish she had gotten a bigger role, maybe with some backstory, and a couple of personal quests.
Oxhorn has blessed us once again with a great video. Thank the lord and saviour, Oxhorn.
i like the fact that this mission locks you in the explosion of the train because you haven''t been cautious enough in not telling anyone (in this case Curtis) about the infiltration in the tower.
I hope you do lore and vault videos for the original CRPGs.
I miss the part that you talk about the new radio dialogs that some missions unlock. In my last playthrough i forgot to listen to Curtis and rushed to the monorail just to see it explode and on top of it the Mr New Vegas kept reminding me of my mistake for the rest of the game.
"Maybe you'd better step out for a moment, you've upset him! 🤭"
"Poor little fella 😚"
The sass had me chuckling 😆
Great video but what about the high intelligence option where the Courier can pass for a Legion assassin? It's so much fun to spurt out Latin quotations like "Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes" or "Corruptio optimis pessima."
I've been waiting for a series over this location :D
You missed the inelegance checks to get info from him by convincing him you are a legion assassin! Though this may only be for male couriers because of the legions stance on women.
The Sand Boxer well Caesar let's women join him despite his doctrines
I have never seen a female legionnaire or legion assassin.
Ceasar will let you join if female. Not others.
I can see Ceasar bending a few rules as long as they get results. The Legion has been around long enough for women to be completely indoctrinated in their beliefs. A female spy would be less suspicious in certain situations.
I can see why you haven’t gotten any of the intelligence checks.
He always could pull a Tyrion Lannister and tell each of his lieutenants about a different Supply route. then scout out where the Raiders are ready to attack, thus knowing who gave them the information.
"You can only gain access to the monorail if you have liked faction reputation"
Ooooooor, if you steal a NCR suit of armor like I do, every playthrough 😂
It’s one of the easiest ways into the strip
I see that 1 MIL mark coming up. Keep it up Ox!
I have played New Vegas for a long time and it never occurred to me to go speak with Farber, damn.
When I did the prisoner quest, I stood outside the glass in my black ranger armor, pumping drugs and punching the glass
Oxhorn I just completed the interigation part and if your character has 8 inteligence you can trick him into thinking you are working with Caesar and he will talk. He also gets really scared and its funny
Honestly, I love the interrogation mission with Silus. The centurions are fucking scary, dude.
Im so happy when i see an oxhorn new vegas vid over an hour long, time to play fallout.
You could use an Intelligence check during the interrogation with Silus and pretend that you're part of the Legion.
Fun fact: The NCR and the Enclave never saw eye to eye on issues since their establishment in the West coast. Longtime Fallout fans would know this despite the fact that both are founded on Old World principles.
Sorry I’m a little late but still love the vid and I’m so happy that we can all see more of the maceran airport
i wish the airport had brighter lights..also i wish there was a player home(or something of that nature) near the airport..maybe an old passenger airplane
Jw, any chance you can do more creature lore. Like youve kinda done vids on supermutants for fallout 4 but what about mirelurks, deathclaws, vault 87 supermutants or the masters army
Brandon Gerhardt We have thenapple for that. It's his forte, Ox's is research and story telling using his sexy ass voice
Mikhael Gonato i wouldnt say sexy but he sounds like one of those guys who talks over cartoons
Brandon Lee the Great Now that you've said it. I agree but nevertheless he's entertaining.
Hell yea! I love your videos Oxhorn! And the Thursday stream was great!
Great video!! I really like your Videos Oxhorn and I really have been able to understand fallout lore thanks to you. Also I found it funny how closely my name is to Cook Cook.
Remember dont shoot the captain.if you shoot him well like you know it still the train is explode.if not you can tell the col.shu tell him "it was curtist" he said"i will send the man out there to captured him and send him to jail"and then mission succed
sweet a video for camp mccarren
"Hey what if we skinned him. Wouldn't be so smug then." Sums up the NCR completely
49:48 the light wasn't there for me either thought I had a problem and came to see what oxhorn did
Men! Wtf! You could use the intelligence thing to talk to the prisoner in Latin! And play to be an legion assassin! It's the most epic one! Wtf!
Sir!
IT WAS BATMAN'S *BAT LANGUAGE*
Even if the monorail blows up you can eventually get it back after a while. The monorail came back in my game after hearing the ncr soldiers say that the monorail is back
In the quest "Not Worth a Hill of Corn and Beans" there's a bug where if you pick "Can anything be done to improve your supplies?" it will make Fitz, and Ruby Nash never have the dialogue option to recruit them and finish the quest.
Which means that the quest is dead before you even start.
I didn’t know that you could disarm the bomb, thanks for more information
The most unique way to deal with Silus in my opinion is to pose as a legion assassin
