THE GOD STORY BEHIND OUR HOUSE | BLENDED FAMILY
มุมมอง 1K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Being a blended family comes with unique hardships, which is why we are so thankful God has clearly shown us His hand in our journey. These "God fingerprints", as we like to call them, have served as anchors, memorials and testaments to His presence in our story. Join us as we share one of such "fingerprints" which God was writing even before the beginning of our relationship.

📍The parents are feeding the monster. A hot mess that is pervasive & snowballing ❗😳😳

I am a full-time career nanny. I have been a full-time nanny for over 25 years. Here is the reality. Unless you are the parent....you can offer NO guidance in the area of obedience, accountability or boundaries with children in your care. NONE ❗ there is a pervasive & toxic parenting style now called "warm parenting".... The majority of it allows the children to RULE....& get away with a lack of accountability and boundaries in the home and thus they rule the home. The parents look belabored, exhausted, and absolutely spent at the end of each day. They look like they have been through the mill and back. It is sad to watch and the nanny is always caught in the middle, concerned that she could lose her job if she tries to counter that approach or suggest anything else to the parents. I know because I have lost my job more than once when I have tried to suggest that a child's temper tantrum at age six- sprawling on the floor (because she had no time to brush her hair in spite of receiving six warnings up to 1-hour previously) was unwarranted. It is a very sad situation. The children talk back they are highly insolent, exceedingly entitled, detached, arrogant and basically not nice to be around....6 year olds, 8 year olds, 9 year olds are having temper tantrums on the floor of affluent homes (like 2 year old children). The parents then handle it like the child is a piece of glass that could break, encouraging the nanny (who will eventually be dubbed as the bad guy if she is not super careful) ... to leave the child to their tantrum....& . to get down on the floor with the screaming child and hear their feelings......(Even though it is 2 minutes before the school bell rings)😳😲. They have an absolute aversion ...and I mean collectively.... not just isolated cases.... Collectively the parents have an aversion to any type of boundary setting or accountability from their kids. The parents are looked down on by their kids, mocked, divided against - as is the nanny. It's the saddest thing and I've only seen it get worse over the last 25 years. Good luck raising your own children.... they will likely be an anomaly in a world that hasn't got a clue.... and nor is the world interested in "getting a clue." ( I cannot wait to get out of this industry.... (Signed an overwhelmed career nanny) 😭

Make sure you pair this with what healthy boundaries are and how to keep themselves safe. Without that this is conditioning them to be abused.

Thank you for sharing your story, I'm so sorry for your loss. I found out Friday that what should have been our 10 week old, stopped growing at 8 weeks and 5 days after having a healthy heartbeat on our last check up. Can I ask you how bad the pain was? This is my first miscarriage and first pregnancy and I am absilutely petrified! I decided to try and pass the baby naturally, but it's been 3 days since we found out and I only have very mild spotting and cramping. How much time passed between the time you found out and the actual miscarriage of the baby? I'm just trying to prepare myself and I don't know how much longer I can wait before opting to do a D&C 😢

It also helps to have a qualified family therapist to work with. I highly recommend if you have neurodivergent children (you are yourself) ADHD, OCD, ODD and major health issues like celiac in children YOU need a therapists. I found the most amazing one, a believer, a grandma whose fruit of her family shines through. There is no shame only joy getting help and resources. Because sometimes it’s not the parenting it’s all the other stuff. After a year of therapy I find I naturally am calm and collected. The yelling was a symptom… I absolutely take captive my thoughts and mediate on scripture. I even made a TH-cam play list I listen to over and over again to remind myself of His words!!!!

I have just had my 4th baby who is a month old. 3 boys and 1 girl now. However, im sick of people imposing their thoughts on me! Im sick of people asking me if im done because I know they are trying to tell me thats enough. If you want one child its up to you. If u want 10 its up to you. I would never want to get to 10 kids coz i think thats too many for me. At the same time I would never tell someone who has 10 kids to stop having them.I will just mind my own business. However, stop asking me if im done yet. I always get this question wen im pregnant, its specially strangers or people who just know me and are not my friends. I noticed i started to get insecure and started responding, saying its my last just to be accepted in the society. I have to say I blame myself for being insecure and I've ended up lying to myself and random people saying I have enough. Hey, Im done with this. Not anymore! I'll do the hell i want!! If i get pregnant for the 5th time i will say its non of your business. Stay the hell away from planning for me. I'm living my life. Live yours.

I have to add. Relatives are a nightmare! They want to tell you to stop! Mother in law imposing her beliefs saying its enough! Mind your own business. If I have more, those are my Eggs being hatched not yours! You decided on your family when you had yours. I'm making my decision.

This video is truly a blessing!! I have been praying about how to address my son's behavior. I say constantly, his strong will is great for a 40 year old, but not a 4 year old. Your video has made me change my mind about that a little. We need to do more teaching him how to channel that strong will for good. He has such amazing qualities, but there are times when he gets overwhelmed with his emotions and we need to teach him how to control those. I LOVE that you followed God's guidance and it inspires me to do the same!

The one thing no one ever mentions about a pop up is the fuel mileage saver. I have a 2021 Forest River Rockwood HW 277. Dry weight is 3,400 lbs plus all the dry goods and clothes we add, which is about 250lbs. We also load the truck bed with about 300lbs and cabin weight is about 700lbs. I still GET 15.5-16MPG IN MY F150!!! Meanwhile, others are hauling these big rigs, even bumper pulls, and are barely getting 10mpg. I will never get a big rig. Even if my kids are teenagers.

My kids feel neglected when asked to sleep in their room.. they probably think of the reason that mom and dad are sleeping together...reasons which their pre teen minds may get confused about . How to politely ask them to sleep as my husband is very attached on the younger one who's 6 sleep with us. I too feel that this age will go and then they will grow up and ultimately sleep on theor own so why not let them.be with us.... And as it is , here in india Co sleeping for a longer time is common. I do still homeschool but definitely feel God has shifted my purpose here on TH-cam to align more with what I have walked through in life. It is not lost on me that probably most homeschool families do not have divorce as a part of their story and therefore the latest content is irrelevant to most of my starting audience, and that's ok. I do hope to post an update soon on where we are in our homeschool journey!
