  • The problem was about excessive exhaust gas temperatures. In addition, there was an uneven distribution of temperatures in the discharge nozzle. Initial diagnosis:
    - burned evaporator or
    - clogged pipe feeding fuel to one of the evaporator or
    - distorted wall of the combustion chamber or a combination of the above
    The first assumption proved to be right. The evaporator tube is replaced and the engine works perfectly.
    The film does not show only the evaporator replacement and dynamic balancing of the turbine rotor.
    Repair carried out in: jetpol.tech/
    Film design: JETPOL
    Music: elements.envat...

    Good afternoon. Thank you for the video. I have a BadG error. The candle doesn't work. Tell me, please, what is her resistance?
    The candle is welded by laser welding. As I understand. I plan to make a small technological opening, next to the regular candle, on the side. Without disassembling the entire engine. And introduce a new heating element.

      Hello, when cold, the plug is practically a short circuit. As a cold plug, it draws 15-20 amps at nominal power (for 1-2 seconds). The current drops after a few seconds to a few amperes.

    What are the perfirations in the center of the engine for? I get allowing air to enter the combustion chamber but wby as seen at 5:09 are there holes for the center. The hot gasses are escaping directly backwards to the fan. Or, do they enter through the center some how as well? How are the hole sizes and placement determined and why are they not all uniform?

    • @robrobinette
      @robrobinette หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is high pressure air all around the combustion chamber so air flows into all the holes. Some are designed to allow air in to keep the flame from making constant contact with the metal combustion chamber. Air flowing in all around in all the small holes keeps the flame in the center of the chamber to prevent burning/melting of the combustion chamber itself.

I reckon in modern model engines they only need a fuel tank without butane(from Kurt Schreckling’s book) to preheat the tubes at the start, is there an electric heating element or other method used? Let's see, there is a friction in the suction nozzle ... the turbine is disassembled and finds a broken vaporizer, changes it, to reassemble the turbine by changing a bearing. Check the parallelism of the compressor spacer, which cannot vary unless it was already poorly manufactured.
    On the other hand, it is not seen that the shaft jump (run-out) has been verified, when it is the first thing I would have done after damaging the nozzle, nor do I see that the compressor has been inspected for damage. Finally, I imagine that it will re-balance the rotor, or does it leave it at that?

    Veamos, hay un roce en la tobera de aspiración...se desmonta la turbina y encuentra un vaporizador roto, lo cambia, para montar de nuevo la turbina cambiando un rodamiento. Verifica el paralelismo del espaciador del compresor, cosa que no puede variar a menos que ya estuviese mal fabricado.
    En cambio no se ve que haya verificado el salto del eje ( run-out), cuando es lo primero que yo hubiese hecho tras tener daños en la tobera, tampoco veo que se haya inspeccionado el compresor para determinar daños. Por ultimo imagino que volverá a re-equilibrar el rotor, o lo deja así?.

    • @JETPOLPoland
      @JETPOLPoland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello, there may be several reasons. One of them may be deformation of the combustion chamber. It is really difficult to determine without measuring and examining the engine. Maybe the nozzle is distorted. Since the EGT is still low, it can gently choke the outlet nozzle. This will accelerate the stream of exhaust gases. Most, however, I suppose that the problem lies in the combustion chamber.

      @@JETPOLPoland is there a difference in design between the tiny engines and bigger ones like the jetcat 1000 pro?
      Or is it just the increase in compressor,turbine and combustor size while keeping the same design

    • @JETPOLPoland
      @JETPOLPoland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The difference in engine thrust is related to the amount of air forced through it and the temperature gradient. So, in principle, the engines are similar to each other. The differences arise in terms of efficiency (number of compression stages and power take-off), safety systems, bearing lubrication concepts, and the perfection of flow channels. Micro and large jet engines follow the same laws of physics, but their design is very different. In the case of two relatively small engines, which differ essentially in the thrust force, the differences mainly lie in the size of the compressor and turbine, and thus in the amount of air mass (mass air flow).

      @@JETPOLPoland how about compressor to turbine wheel ratio
      Does the turbine wheel size affect the compression ratio of the engine?

    • @JETPOLPoland
      @JETPOLPoland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      More than one book has already been written about it :-)
      The task of the turbine is to collect the energy of the exhaust gases and use it to drive the compressor. The compressor uses the greatest amount of energy to build up pressure in the chamber, and is the most responsible for compression. A diffuser located just behind the compressor is designed to stop this compressed air as quickly as possible without losing temperature. The greater the efficiency of the compressor (the arrangement of the compression wheel and diffuser), the greater the compression ratio. The larger the turbine wheel, the larger the compressor can be driven. I mixed it up a bit, but I hope it's understandable :-)

      This is a Centrifugal flow engine and yes you could make it slightly differently.
      But there would be no value in that... Even the engines in cruise missiles
      use this same type of engines.. if it works why fix it.

    Podawanie jakiegokolwiek paliwa do "komory spalania", jest pozbawione jakiegokolwiek sensu, jeśli dobrze pozna się zasadę pracy turbin gazowych... Sprężone powietrze jest paliwem samym w sobie! There is not much to these engines....I dont understand why they cost $2000-$5000. there is no more then $50 in materials. How do they justify the crazy high price.... especially when they are built in china.

    • @JETPOLPoland

      That's what I thought too 20 years ago when I started this adventure. Now I think differently. Our engines are not made in China.

      The materials that go into a microprocessor are pennies but the chips can cost thousands.
      The r&d alone can be a large proportion of the cost. Then factor in scale and manufacturing tolerances.
