- Will K-Seal save my engine? Let's find out on this episode of daily driving a classic weekly. As a last restort and by popular demand I am trying out K-seal head gasket fixer on my 1975 Jaguar XJ6 which is losing water into cylinder number 2. Will K-Seal save my engine?

What's your experience with K-Seal? Has it worked for you?
I used it 8 years ago on a Jaguar XKR. it had a small head gasket leak between a water gallery and a cylinder. No water contamination in the oil just huge amounts of steam from the exhaust.
It was intended a a temporary fix but it's still holding. Worth noting, the engine is a 4L supercharged V8 and I don't drive like Miss Daisy!
Eventually, I will repair the engine but the most conservative quote is 12 hours labour! So I'm in no rush.
That is great to hear that it has worked so well for you! Let’s hope it keeps working for you too
I have purchased this product but I would like to know the correct way to use it, after using this product should I take out the cooling water and clean the cooling cycle then pour new water or what?? Should I mix this product with water or coolant?
Yes it worked for me and I do not believe it is temporary it is permanent
I tried K-Seal in my B3000 but it didn’t work for me. Later, I flushed the system and tried Blue Devil Pour and Go. I made sure that I went through a couple idling cycles before driving on the road. It took a couple days before it completely sealed up. The truck is running great now.
Fingers crossed! Would be great to have the little blue bottle save an expensive engine swap! If it does, K-Seal may want to make you their celebrity spokesperson!
I've never head someone call me a celebrity before! If it does work I will gladly recommend the product to anyone. Very simple to use also
Thank You for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth.... Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ ☮ ❤

Very nice jaguar 👍💕
Thank you for another excellent video, love following your trials and tribulations, had a few of my own over the years. An excellent tip I had given me by an engineering firm and by a very good friend of mine who has rebuilt a few MGA twin cam and Austin Healey 3Ltr engines in his time, was to use a product called Stag Wellseal Jointing compound on the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and block, if this of interest for the future.
That was interesting , I think you did the right thing for that small leak. Will look forward to hearing more in the next few weeks.
I hope so too!
I really hope this will work ! This engine runs so smoothly, il would be great to be able to keep it. Looking forward for the next video .
Thanks you so much for another instructive video !
Thank you! I hope so too
just stumbled upon your video because Im going to try the k seal ultimate . Hope yours is still working and mine does too. my old man had one of those with a V-12, ran like a scalded ape.... Miss him and the car....GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
Wow. So glad to see it apparently worked!! Fingers crossed. Love to see that car back on the road.
Me too! Went for a longer drive yesterday and it felt great
Great job. Looks like you finally found a solution to the water leak problem.
I hope so!
Nice job and a good informative video. I know that K-seal as Radiator Welder here in Denmark and you can bay it all over Denmark at many tank stations. ….I am very satisfied with the job it works…
Thanks! I wasn't aware that it was the same things in the bottles
Told you it works, well done! and Good luck 👌
Thanks! I hope it keeps working
Worked good on my 77 cutlass
Good Luck. Time will tell.
Used K-Seal a couple of years ago to sort the heater matrix on my Alfa 147. Has worked a treat up to now.
Great to hear that it has worked well for you!
@@LivingWithAClassic cheers 😎. I certainly didn’t fancy taking the dash out. Here’s wishing you and your family a safe arrival of bambino number 2.
Thank you! The due date was yesterday so my wife is very sick of being pregnant now
About a month ago I had a coolant leak at the timing cover gasket on a Ford Taurus 3.0 u code engine. My mechanic said $695 to fix it. One bottle of K-seal fixed the leak in minutes and it seems to be working great.
I have replaced that gasket on my 3.0 engine. There are several TH-cam videos on how to do it correctly. K-Seal won’t work on a timing gasket leak. It requires high heat to seal.
Looks like you may have a positive result Adam! Fingers crossed for you 🤞
Thanks!
Thanks for this. Lovely old British classic you have. Is it still running...
Still my daily. Has a new engine now
My fingers are crossed for you Adam!
Thanks Bob!
These products generally never work. I have tried K-seal and Bark's Leak Stop. The reason being the extra ordinary pressure inside the engine. The pressure will never allow any residue to remain in the place of the leak unless it gets hardened immediately. It's the similar case when there is a leaking pipe. Unless the flow of the fluid is stopped before the application of the adhesive/epoxy the leak never stops.
Blue devil kept me going 3 years
@@riverbumzz9960 This is really good to hear. However, practically it doesn't look possible that with such a high compression inside the engine, it can let anything stay in the affected area.
My 1998 Chrysler Cirrus overheated from water pump leak. Puddle of water underneath the water pump. Let it cool and added K-seal. Like the direction say it was fixed in 2 to 3 minutes and I haven't seen a drop of coolant since! It's a miracle! 4 day now.
how is so far ?
I think doing up the head bolts up has fix it nice job 👏
Thanks!
Yes it works great. I used it in my 1951 Studebaker . My dip stick showed white gunk. One cylinder plug was clean. You have to flush out all antifreeze. WATER only and follow instruction. How long I dont know since I sold the car later. there is lots of K-seal on Amazon Canada. $18.00 Canadian. Some local auto parts store carry it.
Great to hear that it worked so well for you!
Wish I could pick up these kind of products locally
Hi, great video. Any update one year on? I was thinking of giving this a go.
Yes I made an update a month later and it didn’t work. That engine ended up having some big issues on the inside. If you have a small leak I think it could work
Good luck. Time will tell.
Thanks John!
I really respect a guy for having a picture of the kids as his wallpaper/background. (No word on the baby yet?) Really hoping this works. I've had a few tired but not dead yet engines that could have used this. And don't you just love the way those mid range voice mics pick up the internal engine noises and can barely pick up the low rumble of the exhaust?
No baby yet. The due date was yesterday so my wife is very sick of being pregnant now.
Off course I have a picture of my kid on my phone!
Fingers crossed it keeps being a good engine
Like you, I'm always very dubious of "miracle cures" but, hey, it's interesting to see what happens. Fingers crossed.
Me too but let’s see. So far so good
I have purchased this product but I would like to know the correct way to use it, after using this product should I take out the cooling water and clean the cooling cycle then pour new water or what?? Should I mix this product with water or coolant?
K seal works on my 2000 escalade
I did not watch the video yet but based on my experience with k seal I would say yes it will save your engine
I hope it will be fine! One thing that is not fine at the moment is my XJ40. The fuel tank is leaking and beyond repair. I will have to look for options, since I can't buy another one...
Oh that’s too bad. Have you tried a tank sealer? I will try one of my tanks with tank sealer
@@LivingWithAClassic Hi! It is basically like a glass of water. It does not leak, but emits a strong (and possibly dangerous) odor. There is rust holes on the top and the 2 fittings under the tank are completely stuck, even with the lock removed. :(
If you can get them removed maybe you can try a sealer. Might be a good solution
Hi Adam
Why not also do a compression test on that cylinder after driving for a few trips.
best wishes and good luck.
craig from Australia
(my car --1969 E Type Roadster)
I will be performing a new compression test after a few drives. I have the numbers written down from previous tests when it was leaking. I’m expecting that cylinder 2 may stay a little lower since it has had water in it.
Great car by the way! It’s my dream to ride in an E-type some day
@@LivingWithAClassic Grace Space and Pace.

magic in a bottle. Yes, I think that engine will work again, and for quite a while.
Fingers crossed!
I image you have a new baby as I write this. Fingers crossed the K-Seal fix is permanent.
I used today and works good iin mmy car mmy car was overheating
Hi Adam, hope this works out! I have no experience with that stuff. But I have an other question: Your oil pressure is about 40 psi, mine is at 70 psi which seems normal for me. What do you think? Is there a problem, which I didn't know of? Best for your family! 😀
He fitted thin oil to flush the engine....
Is it a straight 6 or V12? The oil pressure in my engine is a little on the low side but it is acceptable when warm and at highway speed. Should be around 40 psi at 3,000 RPM hot I believe. Cold it can be much more than that.
@@LivingWithAClassic It's a straight 6 and it's at 70 when warm. Oil is Liqui Moly Classic. Hmmm...
Maybe the oil pressure valve.... I look into it.
@@LivingWithAClassic Funny idea! Make a vid of that! 😂
Great video, see if this will work for you.
Has your wife had your 2nd child yet?
Thank you for the video content!
Thanks for asking Mark! No 2nd child yet. The due date was yesterday so she’s very sick of being pregnant now. Could be any time now
You're going after water in the oil..... A lot of us are going after exhaust in the coolant...
It had both
No I used it on hyundai i40 it did nothing to fix my head gastet problem
If the repair is successful , and the engine does not have any other problems, keep it. Unless you buy a reconditioned engine, you are not going to know the history of a used one, you could be in even more trouble.
I think you're right but I'd like to find a useable engine that I could restore maybe in the future for the car. If the car proves to be one that I own for a long time.
You can delete it if you want but K-Seal
Sucks it lasted about a week
Ok
