Amazing video. Thanks for sharing the experience. No wonder why NOLs and NOLs instructors are top notch.

Thanks for watching Bob. Set yourself a goal, of someday paddling there. It is the Super Bowl of kayak trips.

That’s an awesome adventure man ! I think switching boats - though it probably was a pain - was a terrific idea. Forces you to stretch a little, kind of like playing tennis (or whatever) against someone better than you

Oh it’s key! Keeping in mind this trip was about teaching instructors from other disciplines how to be kayak instructors and so those boats were picked to teach them about hull shapes and how different boats paddle. The leaders of the course did an amazing job picking boats (and I told them!)

Awesome! Totally awesome! Orca belly rub beaches and glaciers are cool! 🤣
You didn't show too much camp life but I have to assume you carb monstered out again! Ha ha
I admit I was a bit confused about the course component of paddling a different kayak every day but super curious how you felt paddling a Seward?

the Sewards are nice, I liked some more than others. But oddly my favorite boat of the course was the valley aquanaut. Its a lot of fun to paddle. Low volume (and with a skeg!) so a hard to pack. but an awesome boat.
Yeah I didn't shoot a lot in camp because I didn't want to get in peoples faces too much. It is hard on such a short course to get people to relax in front of the camera. Matt is a natural.

Holy mackerel, this was absolute fuego! I really enjoyed the more candid scenes with instructors and participants. Will you show us more footage of map planning, meal prep, camp making & breaking, etc…?
Also, what was the game being played very last scene…yeehaw!

I honestly don’t have much more footage. And because the course was so short, I didnt have time to get people comfortable on camera. Because Matt was on the baja course with me, he started off super comfortable and sort of understood the drill. Sorry I don’t have more.

@@AdventureOtaku No worries, the peak behind the curtain is cool but I totally understand. Fair winds…

I have never been to Alaska. It's a place I have always wanted to travel to, especially to kayak. I'd imagine that the most difficult part of going to Alaska would be having to leave and go home.

Wayne, I am going to give you some advice. JUST GO TO ALASKA. Ive been to Yosemite, Yellowstone, the Tetons, Acadia.... They all pale by comparison.. Just go. But thanks for stopping by, and commenting!

@@AdventureOtaku I will definitely plan to, once I have enough saved. In the mean time, Acadia is only a few short hours away from me (I'm in NH), and I'm planning to go there in a couple weeks.

I’ve said many times Acadia has some of the best paddling outside Alaska . I was planning on being up there in a couple weeks but had to postpone the trip
