Markku talks about the crazy fans in Portugal and how the rallycars are becoming just too fast for man to handle. He also talks about testing the car and the future of rallying with the upcoming Group A. WARNING: there's a fatal crash shown at 0:45! Onko Lancialla ollut murheita,kun Peugeot tulee lähes peesissä kohdassa 8.45-? Was the red lancia behind him in one of the parts of interview the group s lancia ecv?

Looks like a Delta S4 to me, just red colored. Probably used for testing purposes.

Lancia painted most of their test mules red. You can see the same red colour for the car he used for 1000 Lakes testing in 1985, only that was a 037. What I wonder about however is what happened to those cars.

It's either a Delta S4 test car or a Delta S4 Stradale recce car, though modified. The Stradale was the street version of the Delta S4, part of the 200 cars built for the homologation requirement of Group B.

Hyvin toi markku ajelee nykyäänkin siinä teknari ohjelmassa, näkee että mies on ammattilainen ja osaa käsitellä autoa ja hallitsee sen. Nyt viime kertasessa se veteli sivuttain sitä pyöreetä rataa pitkin, kyydissä ollut mies alko voimaan jo melkein pahoin, markku vaan nauroi.

I was there, and never understood the stupid, idiots from country, that thought they where in bull fight or something like that, fingers, nails, stuck on the cars..., I was always in the same place, on top a big wall 3 meters high, could see maybe 4 corners. We are still one of the most ignorant citizens from Europe.

Three spectators died, many injured.

The driver was Joaquim Santos of Portugal, who drove a Ford RS200. This was the first stage of the rally and he was the 12th car. There had already been an accident earlier when Timo Salonen hit a cameraman with the back of his 205 T16 and lost the back of the cars bodywork. The cameraman got away with some broken bones.
Three people died on the spot, an 11-year old boy and his mother, plus another child. Another person died of his injuries later on in a hospital, and 32 people were injured.

Alen kehitti Lanciasta voittaja-auton. Vei muutaman vuoden mutta piti mennä mm. nelivetotekniikan ensimmäisenä keksineen Audin ohi. Sitten malli Delta S4 oli iskussa 1986...jokainen tietää lopun.
