can't believe this is 36 years ago, it was completely a different world back then, I would of been 9 years old during this time, I remember 1986 quite well, no computers, smartphones, internet, social media, and video games, didn't get all that stuff until the 2000's, nothing much in 1986 besides, watching tv, going to school, playing outside and collecting Garbage Pail Kids cards
There were computers in 1986 though, but they were primitive in terms of features compared to 21st century ones. The NES was out by then as well in terms of video games and Atari 2600 games were often found for cheap at thrift stores at the time.
