- This is a whiff of Wally George outside his "Hot Seat" shout show format, and, naturally, he still shouted. It was as a halftime interviewer on "Rollergames," the failed 1989 retooling of Roller Derby. Also on the clip are Bill Griffiths (owner of the producing promotion), Georgia Hase (longtime heel figure in Griffiths productions) and "Guru" John Drew (a Hase protege and manager of a competing team).
I sure do miss Rollergames. Would love it if came on DVD. 😊
I use to watch Wally George on his talk show Hot Seat back in the 1990's! It was one of my favorite shows!
Wally George rules!!! I discovered him on rollergames. This guy would be on a major news outlet if he were alive today.
yes, the song was Hit & Run by Terrific Tammi Hanson of the Hollywood Hot Flash. She got a chance to sing at one game during the halftime show. The song is on the Rollergames album but good luck finding it.
I never understood why Wally didn't receive the credit for creating combat TV, or why he never was recognized for the genius that he was. RIP.
He was. He got very good attention on Peacock ANGELYNE mini series
I miss this show! Roller Games was a blast, Wally was the shit man LOL!...those were the days!
Ralphie Valladares! His wife, Honey Sanchez, is carrying on in his legacy in LA with Ralphie's Roller Stars; just saw them last weekend, and Honey was out there on the track kicking refs and whatnot. Good times. Honey's/Ralphie's daughter Gina now skates derby too.
this is straight up 80s entertainment
I like it
Mizzzzzz Georgia Hass
"Mizzzzz" Georgia Hase
Georgia haas was one bad gal!!!
WOW, I remember watching this in the 80s. There was 2 girls that she was trying to get on her team;;;thinking...
No, actually I believe that Mizz Georgia Hase has separated the T-Bird twins, and got them playing on two different team. One with the Violators, and the other with the Maniacs.
Just found out that Wally George is Rebecca DeMornay's father. Talk about a disconnect...
nevermind. i was confusing gina v of Hot Flash for gina "go go" gonzales who skated for the Birds. and i do remember reference to gina v being ralphie's daughter. it's all coming back to me now...
OMG! I haven't seen this in years! Ms. Georgia Hase reminds me of a substitute teacher I once had. Meaner than the regular teacher. ... creepy ...
@RedSalamander Yes, "Ms" Georgia Hase (Manager of Bad Attitude) is indeed the first boss in Ultra (Konami) Games' Rollergames. Not only that, the guy standing to her right, John "Guru" Drew (manager of Maniacs), was the second boss, but it's hard to tell because he used his "wizard" outfit in the NES game (robe and turban). but he did use his camouflage outfit in the arcade game. Chuck Skull (manager of Violators, not shown here) was the third(?) boss (the one riding the jet ski) in the NES game. Chuck Underwood, David Sams, Shelly Jamison and Wally George also made appearances, however, Roberto "El Fabuloso" Juarez (Manager of Hot Flash), D.J. Terrigno (Manager of Rockers) and Bill Griffiths, Jr. (Manager of T-Birds) were strangely absent (they did appear in the arcade version though).
Thanks for this post, Alex. I've been trying to get some information about El Fabuloso, but just seeing his name was Roberto Juarez is the only thing I could find. (So far?)
I remember Georgia Hase, aka Stoneface.
@NeonGod316 The show was canceled due to the distributor going bankrupt.
is this the same Gina Valladares that skated on the T-Birds during Rock N Rollergames? They never mentioned that she was related that i remember. she was like 3rd best woman on team behind Electric Randi Whitman and Skinnie Minnie Miller. Same person??
I remember all these guys both on the classic TV show and the NES game (curiously, Guru used to wear a turban and robe before switching to his camouflage outfit - or was it the other way around?)
I think my favourite of all was when the woman from the Violators (I'm embarrassed I forget their names) was going after someone and knocked Ms. Georgia Haas on her ass and flipped out LOL! That was awesome ;)
TurboGrafx FTW!!! at 1:28
What the hell? And was that woman the one in Ultra's Rollergames for Bad Attitude?
wallys caps
I want to get a real hipster hairstyle like Wally.
No wonder why his daughter, Rebecca de mornay or whatever decided to like, remove herself from him, look it up on Wiki.
so this is wrestling on skates? 0_0
what's a match race?
