March 28: this song. I remember being 5/6/7 yo and every time they played it I used to cry… not out of sadness tho… just made me feel DEEP. I didn’t understand the lyrics didn’t know who these people were but the music… just the music. Flash forward 20 years I’ve been around, I lived in London for years and back in Spain this song come back to my mind. Damn I needed to hear it to know what’s really about… it comes out that I’ve always been who I am and even when I was a kid and even without knowing English I could understand that the friendship that I give, IF AIN’T REAL, AIN’T NOTHING. Those that call me a friend know what I’m about. As far as I know, that’s what friends are for. I give it, I don’t expect it butI demand it.
Why people cannot enjoy good old classics without mocking to nowadays music? So much disrespect.. are there no good talents today?! That's false and that comment is unnecessary
I was lucky to see this performance in 88' for an AIDS benefit. I remember it well. Very emotional and just so very special. It will stick with me forever. RIP Burt Bacharach. You created something very special and lasting.
This clip is telling why i so in love tith 80's artists and music! There will not be another 80's! So many classics and true musicians ! It was the most precious era in pop music history!
This is why I will always love Dionne Warwick. Look at the uncontrollable emotion she displays throughout this performance. Clearly she has a deep connection to this song and simply cannot hold back the tears toward the end. Always a gracious and generous performer, she shares the song and stage with her friends and is moved by their talents. This is an amazing piece of music history.

Christian Espedilla I am a big fan of Ms.Dionne and my family-dad and sisters. She is too good -heavy, deep, smooth, voice.Stylish singing, duets with anybody easily.Phrasing so amazing.Love her from India....God bless her. And you take care too....Enjoy this kinda music....Cheers👍👍💐💐💐
@@noelleslie6665 I'm a huge fan of Ms. Dionne. Probably her #1!!! I am truly impressed if how you describe her talent!! You are spot on with the exception of a few more adjectives left out lol!! Good job!! I can tell you and your family loves and knows Ms. Dionne's talent❤❤❤❤
Dionne Warwick is a beautiful singer songwriter inside and out. You really don't hear this kind of music anymore unless you're looking for it. WHAT A SHAME...
Almost all my friends died from AIDS when I was growing up so many precious people who were not even given a chance it was this song and movement that changed the world's view that it was not a Gay disease it was a blood disease and still is .Godbless
I can't count how many tears have fallen since I was introduced to this song & now seeing the video is causing a flood warning for my area...😅😅❤😭😭😭😭 they all sing so beautifully together and Stevie Wonder is the God of musicianship!!
My Filipina mother is a huge fan of this 4 artists. She was born a music lover and she always will be. And because of her I've became one, too...😅😊 80's music will always live to millions of people's hearts.
Oh My GOD. Some of the best singers of all time on one stage. Dionne Warwick, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, Nancy Wilson, Lena Horne, and others. Dionne is one of my all-time favorites. GOD Bless Them All.🙏
5:39 Burt Bacharach surrounded by Dionne Warwick and Stevie Wonder. One of the highest points of cultural existence. If only the modern Grammy's were about something like this - love, fellowship, and high art - instead of whatever it has sunk to.
In this live version they all sound like each of them is trying to OUTSING one another, but even though Miss Gladys sings the least lines in this song, she wipes her butt with all 3 of them, (specially Miss Dion who seems to be running out of voice and/or breath every 2 words) and Gladys shines the brightest!
callie ford ......Crazy thing is Steveie is pushing 70 come May and he still can hit the higher registers he’s famous for and sounds like he did way back when.
Some artists make sure that whenever they release a song it must be hit for many years to come, like these legends did, Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Gladys Knight and Steve Wonder, big ups to you guys 👏👏👏
DIONNE WARWICK is a class act and so deserve all accolades and recognition bestowed upon her. Thank you for bringin all of this exceptional talent together and Congratulations on your KENNEDY CENTER HONOR!
+Mike Boland Indeed, this performance gave me chills. It was competitive because Stevie sang his heart out, then Elton and then Gladys did. Truly amazing stuff.
Goose bumps occur as soon as that beautiful lady sings the first note of this sensational song. Four enormously talented people......we love each one as much as is humanly possible. Bless them all for the unending pleasure they bring, and have brought, to everyone.
Hardly Any Words To Say, Except How So Wonderful To Hear All There Voices Together With Such A Meaningful Song And Dionne Warwick's Last Word's '' GOD BLESS '' !!
One of the greatest pieces of music ever composed period. This makes me cry and why I do not know, but it does. The music is great and the singing is outstanding.
This song just made me cry too. It made me start sobbing actually. I think because it makes me think of the ‘old days’ and seeing, Dionne, Gladys, Stevie & Elton all looking so young makes me sad because this was from an era in time that we will never be able to have back. So when I listen to it and watch them singing it, I’m sad knowing music like this will never be like this again, yet I love it so much that it’s really just bittersweet. And that’s where the tears come from. But boy-o-boy! What a great time we lived in 😌
