    I read that the building of this part of the line was an act of engineering genius for the 1880's when it was completed. I've only ever seen it from the side as a passenger, but seeing it from the front makes me realize the truth of it. There's so many hills in this area and they built a line through it that would hold up for at least another 130 years.

      They certainly done a good job back then without the machinery of today 👍😊

    Thanks for that facinating driver's view. I often go to Bacchus Marsh and much earlier I used to drive up The Pentland Hills and always wondered how trains negotiated them. Thanks again Driver667.

    Been there maddingly yard! Remember that well! Sitting in the derm having lunch amongst all the locos and carriages when doing a tour on it a few years ago! I think it was back in 2019 sometime! Will never forget that in my life! ☺

    It's such a great view atop that plateau, with the You Yangs one side and Mt Macedon the other.

    I've really been enjoying these local videos. It's been so long since I've been on the Ballarat/ Melbourne train. Nice to see it again, thanks.

    12:00 Looking to the left side of the train, I often see what looks like prep work for a second track. Are they planning to upgrade this line? (fingers crossed) 🤓

      @driver667  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This line has already been through an upgrade. The embankment there has always been that wide. 👍😀

    I don't get the signal sistom , Top green , bottom red .

    • @Detrabot
      @Detrabot ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is unecessarily complicated but green/ red is basically a green light and red/red is a red light

    • @driver667
      @driver667  ปีที่แล้ว

      It actually makes sense. It is speed signalling. The top light allows the maximum speed for the area and the bottom light is a maximum of 40kph. The colour tells you if the next is proceed or not. Green and the next is yellow or green. Yellow and the next is red. This is a very basic explanation and by no means covers everything but is the basics of the system. 👍😊

    Vline should make a new train that Combines the Vlocity with the N class locos to make a cool looking train named Vista.
    It will be a Dual powered train with a Pantograph that can be set up for overhead lines, heck it would even replace the Stony Point sprinters for crying out loud!

    • @driver667
      @driver667  ปีที่แล้ว

      You should seriously put it in to the transport department as a suggestion. The more people suggest things, the more traction ideas get 👍😊

    • @azurecorviknight4189
      @azurecorviknight4189 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe i should, heck Nsw has a regional train replacement on the way to replace the aging XPT trains that is dual powered, so why not have Vline have a Alternetive to the Vlocity.
