There are many types of eating disorders such as Anorexia meaning you refuse not to eat because you are scared of gaining weight, Binge eating disorder meaning you eat large amounts of foods and then stop eating for a while because you feel guilty about it and then binge eat again for the time you lost that you didn't eat. Bulimia means you eat food and feel guilty about it and you make yourself throw up to lose weight. Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder ( Which I think Maverick has) Meaning you refuse to eat foods because of texture, color, taste, temperature, and even just the smell of it. Rumination disorder meaning you eat food and immediately spit it out (any and all food). Pica meaning you eat food that have no nutritional value in it like it cant even be classified as food at all. Orthorexia meaning you are obsessed with eating ONLY healthy food. Diabulimia meaning someone with Diabetes stop taking their medication to lose weight. I HOPE THIS HELPS! NO HATE AT ALL ❤

Mav talking about his problems with food rly touched me (especially when he was saying how he feels terrible when ppl have to accommodate him) i have food neophobia which is where i have an intense phobia of trying new foods. Once when i was little my parents were forcing me to try a piece of steak and i had a panick attack. But i just wanted to say thanks to Mav for talking about this kind of stuff and how its still an eating disorder, even if it isnt the typical kind.

As someone who has had multiple eating disorders, I can confirm it is definitely a disturbance in my life, I used to have an eating disorder to where I only ate things that weren’t food or had no nutritional value mostly lettuce and I would starve myself, at the time, it was mostly bc I had major body image issues which made sense me being a gymnast and dancer, fast forward a few years and bc I starved myself so much, my stomach shrank and caused me to eat a lot to bring it back to its normal size and in doing so, it caused me to gain weight, I hated myself for the longest time bc of it and still struggle to this day, bc of that, I was very self-conscious and started a keto diet for like 3 months, lost most of the weight, and started working out individually and kept playing multiple different sports as I have always done, but I have never been able to look at myself in the mirror and feel content, some days I still starve myself and every time I eat, literally just eat when needed, I feel a pain of guilt and I take advantage of every single time I am sick bc I tend to starve myself and have so many thoughts of starving myself and I did for about a week recently and I get like Maverick in the sense that I throw up everything bc for me, I am afraid of gaining weight and I weigh myself daily, if I do starve myself, I make sure to drink liquids but I know it’s not healthy, the only reason I don’t starve myself as often as I did is bc I am a powerlifter, and I know that I could probably die if I starved myself while lifting weights, but even then, one of the main reasons I decided to become a powerlifter was bc I want to look good and tone my body up, long story short, I love it either way, but it’s still awful. I guess the point that I am trying to get across is that there are many types of eating disorders and not all are just to where you don’t eat food, bc I am a living example of someone who still technically eats like the average person but still has an eating disorder, and if you have an eating disorder, I just want to say I am so sorry, you aren’t alone, I know you probably won’t believe this, neither do I, but here’s the truth: you are wonderfully and fearfully made in the image of God. You aren’t a mistake, and things can get better with help, I know it’s hard. Also I will be praying for you Maverick thanks for opening up, and thank you Cash for apologizing, it’s much appreciated especially when you have almost died from an eating disorder 😅 anyway, have a blessed day everyone! 🥰

Thank you for sharing! I have never dealt with an eating disorder but I have had body image issues since I was 10 (18 now) and it is really hard for me to talk about. It makes my heart so happy that even though you deal with all of these mental battles, you have an identity and security in God. He loves us more than we will ever be able to comprehend and one day I hope to be dancing with you in heaven without insecurity or fear. God bless ❤

I have ARFID and this is definitely ARFID! I have struggled for many years and have been on and off feeding tubes… and people like cash make it so much harder. Eating disorders come in many forms! Please have grace

I really appreciate this video because i share the same disorder. Maverick you could have ARFID. Its a very undiagnosed eating disorder and pretty new too. And just a note to Cash it actually does truly affect my day to day life and my health.

as someone who is extremely picky and will only eat like 3 foods not including snacks (even including snacks the amount of snacks i’ll eat is really low) i believe mav does have an eating disorder and i completely see where him and kate are coming from. when it comes to life or death if you had to eat something you don’t like, for me i would end up being sick before it hits my mouth and i would rather actually die, so i understand where mav is coming from. in my opinion, cash is being quite rude when it comes to this and instead of arguing trying to create an argument over this and disagree he should be trying to help him. eating disorders don’t mean not eating anything , it means a mental problem with some/most food not all.

I honestly relate so much do Maverick. I hate fruits and most vegetables because of their textures. I can’t eat different textures. My parents don’t realize it so at every meal, I get constantly yelled at to try new foods but I mentally can’t. Then I get compared to everyone that they know. At school, I always throw out my lunch because my parents don’t understand that I can’t eat it. I gag and just can’t eat what they feed me. I just wish they’ll recognize it soon.

I think that Maverick has a specific food disorder called ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder). It is fairly newly discovered, and it consists of people throwing up whenever they eat or are around certain foods.
