Great instructional video Josh, and thanks for posting the bearing and seal sizes. And great camera work Nat. Makes it so much easier for Josh to do his thing.
Very well done Josh, The OEM Yamaha bearings and seals are crazy prices, I always get my Bearings and Seals from my local Bearing Service Supplier. "Valuable Info and Savings to be made" and great camera work Nat. Cheers HWY
Yeah mate I'm surprised anyone would be willing to pay those prices, but I guess a lot of jokers have more dolliz than sense these days 😁 When are you gonna start making some carby tweaking vids mate you could be a millionaire spending all ya TH-cam coin on OEM bits! 😅🍻 Cheers Hal
good job Josh.you could always gently flick out the seal on the new bearings and add some decent grease too the bearing.i do and noticed the bearings last so much longer too.
I did that in another vid one time and some people reckon it's a bad idea, some say it's a good idea lol. It was All Balls bearings I did it to and it made no difference to the longevity of those pieces of shit sadly. But yeah possibly would help with quality bearings, although I'd hope that the quality bearings have a decent amount of grease to start with 🤷♂️ cheers
@15:10 try a couple of bits of cut garden hose pipe josh, then knock it out when inserting the axle ...... carry then in my tank bag they weight nothing and saves all the fiddling and dropping (or worse loosing them) if you need to do a puncture on the trail...
See this is the sort of shit that's helpful! 😁 Thanks mate, good stuff. Nothing worse than having those spacers falling back in the dirt every 10 seconds 😣🔫
@@MVDBR yeah just cut a couple 50-70mm of old garden hose. Chuck em in with your tools and tyre levers . Ask me how I now how annoying it is too looses those spacers ;) btw if you see a Crf250l spacer up on the trails near imbil it’s mine ;)
Oh man, I hate the wheel spacer juggle. I put captives on my R6. I will have to check if the sizes match up with the T7. Huge thank you for the specs you threw up on the screen. I will definitely be coming back for those numbers later.
The cush drive rubbers on my V7 are the main pain with that when re-fitting the rear wheel as they are not held in place until it is attached back to the shaft on the bike.

Nice one mate……the only thing I’d add is plenty of grease is good, but on the seal I’d use either a specific seal lube or rubber grease at the least, I’ve seen your normal high temp bearing greases effect the rubber and stuff the seal due to the properties of the grease 👍

Hey Josh,,, really like watching ur vlogs after my mate who was trying to start a tour business over here in Thailand mentioned you. I buy scooters from the auctions and fix them up and I've done heaps of wheel bearings and seals. I'm not an expert but those larger seals would still have fitted and as long as not to much wider they hold the spacers in better. I discovered this when changing the bearings on a MSX ( Grom) And strictly speaking the bearings already have seals so really the seals are an extra anyway. But I still used the bearings with seals on my Berg when I lived it Tassie

i've replaced stock bearings on my bike at 75k and they still had some life left to be honest. I can't imagine why anyone would recommend replacing them preemptively at 15k on a bike like tenere, unless you have some obvious issues during inspection (hard to rotate, sticking, noise etc) that could happen if debris gets past the seals. But obviously nothing like that happened on your motorcycle.
Hi josh , great info on the replacement bearings , can’t help but notice your nut to undue the rear wheel was on the disc side where all other tenere’s are on the drive side ?
My GT 723 rear is still going well , only done about 3000 kms so far ( due to Vic look downs and my brain 🧠 injury just been back riding for about one ☝️ months. The XT 660 has a similar issue with rear wheel bearing and the Cush rubbers as well.
