I got a dobyns trout rod and curado bfs baitcaster few years back!! Love it so light and gets the job done!! Pulled in a bunch up in the eastern sierras🎉
You can always tell in these videos how much Matt and Tim like a certain bait or style of fishing by the way they light up. Even after all these buyers guides, they both light up on BFS. I have to agree! I got my first BFS setup because of you guys and have a hard time putting it down. Happy Thanksgiving guys!
@@jaredtremp4708thanks man can’t wait to get it! Now I’m torn on what reel to go with. It’s between either the Ark gravity bfs and the shimano curado bfs
Thanks, and happy Thanksgiving! I am addicted to BFS which is a bit crazy living in Florida, but so fun I find myself using it almost every time I go fishing 🎣...FishOn...Jim
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍽 everyone. I’m grateful for y’all Matt and Tim for taking your time and still putting out another great buyers guide. Eat well and tight lines my fellow fishing friends 🤙🏽🎣
The Lunker Hunt sinking braid in 7-10lbs pairs perfectly with the Conquest 23 bfs. The Daiwa sinking braid works fantastic on the Aldeberran bfs. The era mini glide is a bait drop bait, but the best BFS glide bait. Euro tackle has some great baits im surprised tjwy dodnt mention any since its now being sold in Tackle Warehouse
Great video as always. I’m always impressed with your take on new tackle and techniques surrounding all aspects of bass fishing, especially trying to improve on catch and hook up rates for every one, not just the “experienced anglers”. I stopped buying Great Lakes hardware! The hardware on the underspins are extremely cheap and rust like nothing I’ve ever seen and I’ve been an avid angler for over 40 years. 💯 %% Agree with the Karashi !! Awesome bait, but can’t wait for the duo underwalker to hit the Canadian market. Very tempted to just order it from the U.S. as I’ve been waiting, it seems like forever. Keep the videos coming, again always looking forward for a new look at fishing a bait I’ve been fishing for years. 👍
That peX8 is awesome stuff. I have the 12lb on my stradic 1000/6’ ACC crappie stix rod as a multipurpose setup and that braid easily casts 1/80oz trout/crappie jigs but remains strong enough for stud Smallies/white bass. It kinda blows my mind how it handles abrasions for such a thin line.
Runcl Powerbraid 18 lb, 8 stand, round PE braided line has been great for me. It's 0.14mm vs 0.165mm. And it's $19 for 300 yards vs 38 dollars for 220. A great budget option for a thin strong line. Half the price, and more than 2x the line.
You guys really need to check out more Duo beyond just their spybaits. They have a dedicated series called Tetra Works. Absolutely tiny topwater pencils & poppers, sinking minnows. They're mostly for trout fishing and ultralight saltwater, but they work wonders with BFS as well.
I have a question about BFS . A Reel do yall know why the SLX BFS reels are not on the market?? I know they have them people have videos of them. But I have never seen them anywhere for sale!! Thanks brothers appreciate all the awesome work yall put in. 🙏🏼🤙🏼
They are a JDM reel. There are several different SLX models that are not available in the US from two different 70 sized DC models to the BFS. If I had to guess, the reason that they don't sell them in the US is that they would seriously cut into Curado sales. In the case of the SLX BFS it essentially IS the Curado BFS at a much more attractive price point.
The line is key, especially in heavily pressured city ponds where I fish. I’ve thrown 4-8 pound monofilament and had no hits, then switched to 6-8 pound flouro and started getting bit.
Says , the Karashi has become one of those premier baits... because of Tactical Bassin! 😂 Us JDM/Megabass nuts were happy with it living in obscurity to the rest of the world. But we love you guys anyway. 😂 Happy Thanksgiving! I'm not as butthurt about the Karashi being exposed as I was a few yrs ago, as most guys wont spend that kind of $ on a small bait. Though they would if they knew. I was fishin with a newer fisherman last year, he couldnt believe the $ that the baits cost. He wasnt catching anything and after my 14th fish in a row, on the Karashi, he says, "yeah Im gonna have to get over the price"! 😅
Happy Thanksgiving!!! Who wants to bet these guys are thinking about fishing right now!!! Y’all should look at the LC 0.5 a real BFS square bill that smashes!! Jackal also has a very finesse 1/4 oz buzzbait.
Happy Thanksgiving, thank yall for all the hard work to make these videos happen. I have a question for the tx rig, im having a hard time finding a hook small enough for some of these soft plastics, what do yall recommend?
I’m curious on your guys opinion of the Ark gravity bfs reel. I’m getting my first bfs combo and have it narrowed down to either a Shimano curado bfs or the Ark gravity bfs. I’m pairing it to a Cashion Element 6”10 ml
I actually been throwing my 2.8 on my Zodias 6'10" med light baitcaster for the last 5 or 6 years. It's rated 3/16-1/2oz. I don't think anyone even realized back then what it was. I thought it was going to be great for tiny jerkbaits but a guppyhead is perfect 👌. The new bfs models are literally the same rod now and they're saying it's new 😂. I'm like...no I've been throwing it since 2017 or so.
The Seaguar JDM PEX8 is thinner, is an 8 carrier, and comes in all the smaller sizes that maxcuatro doesn't. We love both lines, but for different applications.
This is the one I've been waiting for! I love jacking them on a mag draft, big jig ext . But a free rig setup on a bait finesse that cashion with that Shimano BFS is a dream
They leave links so you can click and see if you want. They do enough. Asking for more is crazy. Next time try "thanks guys for giving us all these buyers guides." 😊
10lb isn't bfs. That's the problem. Not the reels. You aren't doing it right brother. If you are gonna commit then commit. You aren't trying to cast these tiny lures across the lake. I use 6lb braid (suffix 131) to 8lb leader and have no issues and have landed 15lb carp on that set up.
Happy Thanksgiving Tactical family. Thankful for all the knowledge that Matt and Tim bless us with! 🎣

I’m looking to get my first bfs combo. What rod did you go with? I’m thinking about getting the cashion element 6”10 medium light
@ I picked up the Dobyns Sierra Ultra Finesse 700c. I like it a lot, very light and responsive.
@@jaredtremp4708 right on those seem popular. I’m looking to stay I think on the heavier side of bfs. I’m afraid the rod I get will be like a noodle 😂
@@Ukcat24 I hear ya! I do a lot of ultralight trout fishing so the lighter BFS is right up my alley. I think you would be happy with the Element 6’10”

JDM only
The SLX BFS is a JDM reel, not supported in the US market. That means that if you purchase one, there is no warranty, no service, and no parts.
@@helotaxi Yup it's almost same thing for less the price, I owned the SLX BFS and Scorpion BFS as well

For your topwater BFS baits do you just use straight braid?
Use mono. Braid will absorb water and sink, ruining your presentation. Mono floats, and keeps your bait looking more natural
I have a buddy making the replacement gama hook and the owner st36/10 for the back of the karashi.

How does the PEX8 compare to Almight?
Is there a noticeable difference between the regular J Samurai and the Hidden?
How does that new braid compare to PowerPro Maxcurtro? Is it thinner for the strength than previous options?
Have you guys tried that Almight sinking braid? Do you recommend?
Could I use the NRX+ 902S as a spinning rod alternative to throw these baits? 10lb braid to 7lb fluoro leader
What happened to the 7'2" medium light in the zodius line
Thanks 👍
No problem 👍
Bait finese empire is the go to store for this category.
Their frequent stock outs drive me nuts
Dang you weren’t kidding
Agreed
I noticed you guys didn't mention the Raid egu dam type cover or type level. Would you not recommend those?
Let's just keep that to ourselves 😂
you guys should give the Rapala Shadow Rap Little Fat Jack a try
Is megabass not participating in the black November sale?
Megabass doesn't participate in any sale officially. They're MAP on all their products.
Am I crazy, or is the diameter of that Seaguar braid more or less the same as Maxcuatro for slightly less per yard?

Wow that Zip n Ziggy had been out of stock forever. Jumping on that.
Can we make lures $5-10 again lol. $20 apiece is wild. I still buy them though.
First!

You linked the wrong shimano crank
Lucky Craft Gunfish 75 is an absolute menace for the bfs topwater game.
Why no caméra close up shot on all these lures....?
Totally agree, can’t see any of these lures at all.

The problem with BFS is line capacity. It needs to be increased atleast to 75m at 10lb.
The Seaguar JDM PEX8 will solve that for you.
