    I ‘just know things’ through direct perception. It’s not a matter of thinking, purposefully observing, hyper vigilance or fearful observance. Rather… I have many accurate experiences of insights based on what I would call vibes… or energy. The vibes are not only received physically but also emotionally. I meditate and it makes me clear. I attempt to stay in a neutral state by being aware of my breathing and when the breathing rate changes it’s also a type of internal indicator. I have been doing this for so long that it has become part of my usual demeanor and is now unintentional and acting on its own. I would call it a form of ‘knowing’.

    An INJF that knows themselves and understands the meaning of the term intellectual, is unlikely to describe themselves as an intellectual.

      I agree. We undoubtedly have wisdom in spades. I think people confuse wisdom with intelligence.

    INSATIABLE CURIOSITY!
    And, a never ending search for knowledge.
    I often share information with others - usually little factoids - in the moment.
    During an excursion that included experiencing a different environment (geological and climatological) I shared some simple things that I knew -- having worked for 9 years as a US Navy weather forecaster at 2 separate NOAA facilities. So, I have some "heft" behind my experience and knowledge.
    The response from a person known to bully others in the group was: "You don't have to show off - we know you're smart."
    This hurt - and that's exactly what this person wanted it to do. And no one spoke up.
    I did call it out in the moment and defended myself in my soft spoken manner, but still, no one present said a word... And, the "door-slam" came a few months later
    (one of the best days of my life).

    I feel like INFJ's are one of the few types I can have deep, philosophical conversations with. Furthermore, they don't seem to find it tedious or dull to completely get lost in the realm of discussing ideas, theories & abstract concepts - which I could spend all day doing. To me, they sometimes can be a bit stuffy, stiff and controlling. However, once they let go and loosen up a bit more - they are quite pleasant to be around and talk to. I'm an INFP by the way 😊

    Ironically, I found this intellectually stimulating. I don’t think I’ve ever heard such a detailed explanation of our various functions, and how they interact. Very enjoyable, with plenty of food for thought!

  • @Coneman3

    Yes I can relate a lot to this. I think Ti is arguably the function that can most ‘save’ the INFJ, but it also has the effect of stifling our creativity if overused.

    BTW guys, I like to respond to these videos, but I worry my responses are too long and boring. So permit me to make them a little more compact going forward, despite the increased risk of being misconstrued. (Even this aside already feels lengthy. 😅).

    Although we use a lot of Ti logic, we are, or become aware, that we have access to understanding that doesn’t come from intellectual logic. MBTI thinkers tend to hate our kind of perception, because it doesn’t compute to them and seems unreliable and pretentious perhaps.

  • @pistache9772
    @pistache9772 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Can't Ti be the function by which we (relatively) succeed to articulate, form (in the language), and communicate (as much as it is possible to do it) the ''treasures'' given by Ni ? It is probably true that it can hijack Ni ; but I have the intuition that it can also give it a force that Ni does not necessarily has by its own. (I think it's pretty hard to achieve this, though : to express Ni "rationnally'', without betraying it. Maybe impossible in the absolute ; but my impression is that it is nevertheless worth the try.)

    If the goal of MBTI is to name lanes and police people into staying in them, this video excels. If the purpose of MBTI is to understand your weak spots, and explore how to be more well rounded, inauthenticity does not apply here. Having a "hunch" about something will only get you so far, developing the intellect to match the intuition is key to being able to share ideas in a way that alienates others less. If you cannot help others get to where you are and understand why we're there, nobody wins. Being an INFJ who _knows_ they are right, but nobody else does because they can't show their work, sounds a lot like solipsism.

    • @endo4682
      @endo4682 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      it's not necessary to accept all his ideas.

    • @RensRoom
      @RensRoom  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think it's a mistake to think that it is intellect that allows us to connect with others and communicate with them compellingly. Too much emphasis on intellect can also alienate. The difference is much more often made at an interpersonal, real-world level of engagement - affective, emotional, social, and cognitive.
      That's not to say intellect doesn't matter. Tertiary Ti has the potential to be well-developed and INFJs should aim towards that. But it won't be much use if the relationship with Ni is distorted or repressed in the first place.

      Some times people know things way ahead of the times and showing work is not possible... Religion required trust--- and for awhile it worked..now we have swung in the opposite direction-- dismissal of anything that cannot be proven immediately--neither approach is helpful... We are just learning as humans what the correct balance is and in all likelihood it's dynamic and not static...
