Approximately a century ago, at the age of 27, Marjorie Merriweather Post ascended to become the wealthiest woman in the United States. Renowned for her impeccable taste, she was celebrated for her art collections, unparalleled style, lavish jewels, and legendary entertaining skills. Merriweather Post spared no expense when it came to acquiring jewelry, amassing a collection of over 200 exquisite pieces throughout her lifetime, many with royal provenance.
So let’s explore the Most Famous jewelry of Marjorie Merriweather Post.

What an an amazing lady and so stylish and generous to donate so much to the public…..Bravo ,!
The woman knew what she was buying, and knew eventually where it would belong. In a museum. Class.
These pieces have no context in modern history because they are no longer worn by people. Jewelry like these pieces were made to be loved and worn. It’s so sad to think they will never again be worn but stuck behind glass cases in a museum 😢
At least, in that way more ppl have access to them. It is more democratic and more ppl can dream of becoming owners of such splendid pieces one day
You forget what time we live in and who would have the money to wear this jewelry today...do you want to see these artistic pieces of jewelry on today's banal rich women like Kim K.? That rather damages the beauty of the jewelry.
Remember the unfortunate incident with Marylin's iconic dress that Kim K. wore...
I also think that they represent the world's cultural heritage and therefore belong in a museum where everyone can admire them.
Still, I'd be willing to wear some of these pieces if asked, I'll be honest...💛
Majorie Post did indeed have a fantastic art, real estate. But her French and Russian jewelry collections are the most captivating! ❤
I can’t even imagine having one piece a jewelry like these, let alone 200. It must be nice to be one of the 1%. In my opinion, turquoise is not in any way a substitute for emeralds.
Seen some of hers and other collectors items on display at Smithsonian Museum.Under the special lighting the entire hall was just jaw dropping.
Amazing 🎉
Amazingly beautiful pieces of art!
I’ve seen her emerald brooch in person at Hillwood Museum, it is almost 20cm long. She wore it when presented to King George V and Queen Mary at the Court of St. James. If in DC, Hillwood Museum is by the zoo. Not mentioned in this video is another magnificent emerald emerald brooch that's now in the collection of Museum of Fine Arts Boston.
I love these pieces that can be broke down into brooches and bracelets from a necklace.
Unfortunately we can see such wonderful jewellry only till 1920. This beautiful woman always had its appropiate collection. Thank you for your documentation.
Many thanks for watching!
The jewels and jewelry was worn by kings and queens for centuries. Much of Merriweather’s jewelry came from the revolutions overthrowing the Russian and French dynasties.
I enjoy Learning about Marjorie Post life, Wow her Jewllery, houses, interesting that Donald Trump now lives in her old home, Marlago
I didn’t know that was Marjorie Post’s Palm Beach estate was Miralago…rich people keep it all within their circle.
In Marjorie Post’s time, Mar-a-Lago was her private residence. Fake billionaire Trump turned it into a golf club. There is no comparison between a REAL wealthy person and Trump!
I understand that he has preserved some of the best decorated rooms.
WOW! ❤ ✨🤩
I’ve seen these pieces at the Smithsonian Museum and they are truly magnificent!
The Mughal emeralds are stunning. What a beautiful piece of art.
Absolutely! Ill wear that 👑
Quelle splendeur !
Im so excited for this episodd. Maybe a Part 2. The Smithsonian teamed up with QVC of all people to reproduce some of the Smithsonian Marjorie Post jewelry. It is amazing. I have two pieces and I’m always on the lookout for anything. I love this program. This was so amazing. Thank you thank you.
Thanks for the feedback l!
Marjorie's daughter was the actress Dina Merrill.
That’s very interesting. I remember Dina Merrill very well.
Dina Was Married to Actor, Cliff Robertson !
@@TheCelestialnav I’d forgotten that. I remember both of them well, being of, “that age”.
That was her cousin not her daughter.
@@derricklangford4725 If you read Wikipedia Dina was Marjorie's daughter and was married to Cliff Robertson. I heard that decades ago.
The Romanov wedding crown was used as a pageant crown for Miss Universe 1952.
🤩✨Fantastical !🔥
Amazing ❤❤❤
Thanks!
Many thanks for your support!
De beleza indizível! Uau!
The royal of U.S.A. 💎🇺🇸👌 2024.
Muchas gracias por compartir la bendición del Padre del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo estén en tu vida y todos los tuyos gracias buen día bendiciones 😅😅😅😊😊😊Colombia
Thanks!
The best stone for me is the blue Tyssen diamond, the most revealing item of her collection is the Romanov Crown. I Hope she enjoyed switch off the fire of every single crystal set in it due to her human condition.Wish also to know if all that energy helped her after death in the other dimension.
The Cartier bill says Hutton
Is this Barbara Huttons family ?
Another immensely rich family and lover of jewels
It’s a shame the emeralds were drilled through their centres, though the result is lovely
Is it true that the post family can take those jewls back if they want to????
Never heard such information
What happen to all of her beautiful gowns?
It’s funny that someone could look so dowdy wearing such jewels
That is called Refined Elegant Distinguished. A dying race with todays. Vulgarity. Seeing the types of women copied by uneducated females. All appalling.
I enjoy our video... friendly fyi @4:30 it's uh-PIT-uh-mee instead of uh-pee-tom... :)
Earrings or errings? LOL

It is true that money makes the impeccable taste of certain people!Let's watch that kind of taste achievements, that made this woman "creative", according to your illustration!
Instead of your asinine comment, look up Marjorie Merryweather Post’s biography on Wikipedia. She was far from the aimless socialite, she was a shrewd businesswoman (the richest of her time), and a philanthropist too.
@@myriamickx7969American philanthropists have destroyed the western society: how many they are (avoiding to pay taxes, because that's their goal) meanwhile the number of homeless is in the millions. But they are the guarantors of the welfare, according to you. Even illiteracy ( I mean total level of illiteracy) increases at alarming speed.
PS keep your insults to yourself, if you want to get respect: you have already lost mine for your "äsinine" (how dare you? AmeriKANA!) and for your worthless comment.
-Philantropists- she says...
After watching all your video The only thing I can say is that the Ol' rich Birch always looked as a decadent Christmas Tree: Give those magnificent creations to a beautiful and sensual Young Lad, or Woman ( gender doesn't matter...) and you will see all the stones getting LIFE. On her, they certainly had lost their intrinsic energy, because they were compelled to recharge her as lithium batteries. This enterprise strained every single brilliant's energy to the Opaque point.
Look at diamonds, Rubies and Tourmalines on the Vulgar Victoria Secret's bra: They shine more than the Stars of Winter Norway! The reason is they benefit of young, attractive human organisms.
Has it occurred to you that young, attractive (presumably female) organisms rarely have the means to acquire that kind of jewelry?
And like all socialites, she was never truly happy.
Weird that she's a wearing a tiara despite the fact she's not royal nor noble birth... Weird!
We’re Americans. We don’t give a crap about Nobel births.
Weird that you think that's weird.
It’s sickening to think how the money spent for the endless greed of Post could have helped so many people to simply survive
Belongs to a Blackqueen
Tacky and Tasteless
Jesus, this automated voice is horrendous
Its pronounced pa vay not pave …and Epi tum? for e pit o me…really! Is this a person reading or a robot? Try harder.
That is more than royalty!!!
