Tony, a most enjoyable video! As you know I lived in Leixlip 1950/ 1970. Although 4 years older than you we shared many similar experiences in the FCA and canoeing although in different units and clubs. I served 1959/67 and I remember well the impact that the early 1960s overseas service sessions had on the Army and indirectly on the FCA. I wore my uniform in O’Connell Street for the Niemba funerals and remember the sadness of it all and the young men who died so tragically. In 1966 our unit proudly formed the guard of honour in O’Connell St for the 50th anniversary of the Rising and gathered behind us were the bemedalled veterans of the 1917/21 period. Fifty years on I was back there in 2016 for the centenary and I was one of the bemedalled old men. Sic transit gloria mundi,
    .
