Thanks for the video! One of the best out there for Tiptronic fluid change. I have a 997.1 Turbo with Tiptronic and it appears the process is the same (slightly different parts though)
Anyhow, just wanted to say thanks for uploading the video and being true with the challenges you ran into. This will certainly help individuals like myself as I attempt to change the filter and fluid. Cheers!

Are you thinking about a Quickjack? I think about one every time I do a fluid change...still working off ramps and stands myself! If you're going to work on these things invest in an Autel 808 scan tool or equivalent. The wired tool is cost effective. The bluetooth version is awesome because you can take the tool with you anywhere you're working to read temperatures or actuate things. Kinda pricy but in this day and age it just as important as having a good impact and sockets!

Ah yes, the Quickjacks.... I NEED them!!! One of these days I definitely will get them, so useful!!! And thanks for the intel on the Autel - I'll look at that as well! I bought the iCarsoft because it was cheap for the number of features it has - Durametric is good but limited on number of cars unless you pay the big bucks for professional version. Given what the tools can do these days plus the need for them on common maintenance tasks, you really need a good one! Agreed they are pretty much essential these days - thanks for the tip @YoshiV819!!!

Your video was excellent. I wished I watched this before changing my transmission fluid. My fluid appeared very dirty even though my1999 Porsche 911 996 only had 52K. (recently purchased). I’m guessing the previous owner did not change the transmission fluid because of low miles even though the fluid can break down over time.
I had to change my fluid three times (4-5 quarts) at a time before I was able to change most of the 8.7 quarts that it holds.
I also had to go back and top the fluid off because I did not top it off correctly the first time, running the engine, going through the gears and allowing the gearbox to get to the correct temperature.

Thanks glad you liked it! And yeah, it takes a few changes to get through all the fluid for sure. Good to have that done!!! And I'll say it's HOT next to the exhaust down pipe when you top off with the engine running! Take care out there!!!!
