    Hi again!
Join me on this windy, beautiful downwind ride to Isafjordur, Iceland. This is the last port before sailing over to Greenland. As usual things did not go exacly as planned.
Big thanks to the Australian musician Dustin Tebutt for making a soundtrack starting at 16:34 into the video, loved it Dustin! Check him out on TH-cam here: / @dustintebbutt
Also big thanks to Rolly Tasker Sails for helping me out with a brand new A5 heavy duty gennaker, after I ripped the last one in the North Sea. In this video you can really watch it fly!

Thanks for reviving some great memories Erik. I too remember being surprised by rapidly shifting winds in the fjords: dead calm followed by 20 knots of wind a mile further along the coast. You've done a great job of capturing the experience on camera. Bravo.

You're still the best, and always the best :) I was talking to my fiancée, about how people who don't have spinal issues cannot understand how painful even a sneeze can be, at the wrong time. I once sneezed while bending over and spent a week in bed, full of the strongest meds imaginable. These days I have a diagnosis ("severe lumbar radiculopathy") and some meds to treat (morphine) but I'm still determined to learn to sail, then to sail as far and wide as my fiancée and I can, in the next few years. Your channel gives me hope, gives us hope, so keep on keeping on my friend, but only when it's safe to do so. Love your spirit, love watching your stuff. All the best.

Hope your back gets better soon. It sucks to hurt your back, I've done it myself many times. A lot of people that sail do yoga. I used to teach yoga and I had a lot of sailors and water sports people coming to my classes. It really helps you when you do things like slip and fall. Most of the time you get back up and brush it off because your body is loose and relaxed. You don't need any equipment, so you can even do it on the boat while you're sailing around.
Look forward to your Greenland crossing, hope it happens soon...

I threw my back out once brushing my teeth! Took days to recover. 🤦‍♂️ I’ve had it go out a few times, now I do deadlifts to keep it strong and strengthen the supporting muscles. Super important! You’re hunched over all the time in a boat, the back gets really weak. Strength training is critical!
