@@datboigrizz idk but i recall his cam being on recently. Maybe it wasnt for the whole epi. Maybe we are in different timelines. Idk. That was my experience though.
I watched the movie with my family in a packed theater... I'm not even kidding- when the movie ended, it got a standing ovation from the entire room. My favorite character was the blue star guy. Such a cripplingly depressed but happy about it type of guy... I liked all the references, and thought the humor was good considering what the movie's about... When we got home, my younger siblings cracked each other up for a week over " Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches!"
I get it tho. That original Mario movie was so wild and stupid that is just stays in the mind far after watching it. It's an experience. Most of the cast were drunk during the making of it. They knew it was a shit show from the start.
I feel ya, it's definitely an odd take but it makes sense. The Mario movie was a risk free investment, you knew you would get a polished movie that hit every basic beat. Nothing real terrible but nothing really great. Sonic was an experimental thing that took risks and won some things and didn't win others. Andrew just sounds like a gambler that's all.
I can boil it down to two sentences. We still talk about the 90s Mario movie. In a few years, nobody will be talking about the 23' Mario movie. One is memorable in its awfulness. The other is going to be forgettable in its mediocrity. It's a lowest common denominator movie. It's not bad at all, but it's far from being something great. The most memorable thing about it for most is how awful Seth Rogan (and his laugh) was in it.
@@Edward-Not-Elric the thing about that though, is that it kind of means nothing. the same way you FEEL about the new mario movie is how we FEEL about that argument. Meandering, pointless, nonsense.
@tumpynuts That's not how I feel about the new Mario movie at all, which shows that you didn't even comprehend my original comment fully. The movie is fine, it's just not very good or amazing. I'd give it a personal 5/10 but a 6/10 for a slightly more objective view. Perfectly serviceable. It's also really not about how I feel. It's more about what I think based on pattern recognition. Inside Out was also an alright movie. It got a big box office and great critical reception. But nobody talks about it anymore, and I've never heard someone say it was their favourite. When conversations come up about good animated films, Inside Out isn't mentioned past 2017. However, when a conversation about bad films or video game films comes up, the Mario movie usually gets mentioned as a so-bad-its-good movie. It's a wacky and interesting watch. It tittlates the brain in a way that just alright movies don't.
I don't even have a problem with that many of his takes... But I disagree with his take on the Saw franchise here lol. Idk, I thought at least some of those movies were entertaining to watch

If you are smart you usually can guess what is gonna happen through the movie, especially in a children's movie lol.
Halfblood prince doesn’t really have that big of a meaning it’s just that Snape is a halfblood and his mothers maiden name was prince. And before dumbledore was killed, he used a spell on Harry so he couldn’t move. That’s why Harry immediately knew Dumbledore was dead for real because the spell didn’t work anymore and he could move
Also Harry used Sectumsempra when attacking Snape at the end of the film, a spell created by the Half Blood Prince which prompted the line “You dare use my own spells against me Potter?” Such a good reveal
