@@dundertvelr2536Jo is only a replacement for this fight, 2 weeks preparation. Tawanchai had a full camp for this regardless of the opponent changes.
But of course neither of them had much time to train for the other.
And it is kickboxing rule, Smokin' Jo has much more experience in this rule set.
Smokin' Joe came in shape!
was a classic tale of speed vs power, he really brought the challenge to Tawanchai and I honestly saw it live and coulda given it to Jo.
Never seen someone walk forward against Tawanchai let alone stop his usual forward pressure and aggression
Tawanchais bread and butter is Muay Thai. He’ll get exposed by a higher level boxer such as Giorgio, Marat, or Chinga in kickboxing
Walking forward against Tawanchai - there had been other guys, example - the fight against the Thai Champion Petchmorakot had been very close.
@@casgal2431 Tawanchai improved already a lot in boxing over the past years - look the fight against Larsen - brilliant boxing. But you are right he is still sometimes 'very' open in his guard and good boxers are still a problem for Muay-Thai fighters. In this regard Allazov is just an all round power-house who will be hard to knock off the throne.
I am looking forward to a fight Tawanchai - Allazov in Kick-Boxing or Haggerty in Muay Thai.

@deads9455 superbon is possible , al do after yesterday. I do have questions 😅and doubts about how good he would have done against Superbon .
But style wise, I think he has the best chance against Superbon because yes of course he's better under kickbox rules then tawanchai definitely more experience.
But he still kind of has a slower pace compared to guys like chingiz and marat . Tawanchai could sneak in his kicks against super .
But guys like chingez won't give him distance and chance to land his kicks

Onefc point system is different. They don't decide round by round, they look at whole match as one round.
@@TombulSavas I'm pretty sure that ruleset only applies to their MMA matches. "The three judges will score the bout round-by-round using the “10-Point-Must” system, and victory is awarded by the judges’ majority decision" According to the Muay Thai ruleset. I really like the whole match-scoring idea tho.
Damn Nattawut did really good. I have only seen this highlight but it looked like it could've gone either way in that.
Joe is himself had been a Lumpini World Champion so it was clear this is not to be an easy fight...
Considering Tawanchai was expected to walk through Smokin' Jo, this was a somewhat unexpected and good result for Jo. Very close fight and personally I thought Smokin Jo edged but could have gone either way. Of course the judges were always going to give any close decision to Tawanchai because he's one of ONE's biggest stars. They want him beating lesser ranked opponents to set up the blockbusters. I bet Superbon beats him if they do fight.

I still don't buy the theory that ONE favors Tawanchai. If it was true, Rodtang should have won over Superlek. I don't think general audience like us know the pointing system better than One's referees.

They were pretty even in terms of landing kicks. The difference is Tawanchai was more accurate with his hands.
I'm pretty sure it's typical of Asian Kick Boxing judges to give close matches to the champion. They typically want to see a clear defeat in order to give a lesser ranked opponent a win. It's not just something common to ONE, either.

Wish we can see this version of Jo when he fought Chingiz. He seems so off back then especially when compared to his performance in this fight.
Even though this is a last minute replacement fight, it can easily be a highly promoted fight as it delivered big time.
No shame in it, Chingiz at the moment is just in a ridiculous insane shape
I don’t think this version of smokin Jo was any different. Stylisticly, he doesn’t have the answer to chingiz hands and pressure in kicking boxing. Against Tawanchai, the pace and rhythm is slower allowing him to pick more shots. Typically, at least in Muay Thai, if you fall short in the hands exchanges you’ll be opting for clinch just as superlek did against rodtang.
Super awesome fight. Never seen Tawanchai be so offensive before hes usually more relaxed, sick 🔥.

'Should win by split decision' is nonsense. Split decision doesn't mean close fight, it means the judges disagree with each other. You can only say should win by *your score here*, should win by split decision means you think the judges should disagree which doesn't actually make sense.
@@panner11 split means its a close fight. Unanimous means the other fighter is completely dominated the fight. There is no clear domination here both are striking good. DRAW SPLIT and UMANIMOUS.

A couple of years ago I remember Chatri saying Tawanchai is on course to become the "greatest Muay Thai fighter of all time" LOL. He really wants to make him seem like the perfect fighter but the truth is he's simply one of the best current fighters. Sittichai pieced him up and Smokin Jo just went 50/50 with him. He also got knocked out by some Chinese fighter a few years back.
@@jerryleung3294 All judges are supposed to judge on the same criteria. One disagreeing is either by chance (in a close fight) or by incompetence.
The closest fight can be a unanimous decision if the judges happen to see it the same way. It's a common misconception that unanimous decisions means it's not a close fight. Fights that are not close should all be unanimous decisions. But fights that are close will be either unanimous or split, by chance.
That's why you can never say it should be a split decision. Saying it should be a split decision is not the same as saying it should be a close fight. It's saying the judges should disagree, which isn't sensible. Of course, the judges can happen to disagree in a close fight, but there's no reason they "should".

It had been close, and to remember Joe is a many time Lumpini world champion too - the fight had been won by Tawanchai - his kicks to the body who made him all the points. But it is also fact that the local young superstar get a jury bonus - because the next fight is already planed, just imagine Tawanchai went tko this would be a huge lost for ONE Championchip.
Juries in the fighting sport are known for making sometimes strange desisions, but if you want to see a total fail of jury just look at old fights of Buarkaw in Japan - were Burkaw destroyed A.Sour 3 rounds it was not even close - but Sour had been announced the winner....

It was a pretty clear 2-1 for Joe in kickboxing. He neutralised TW kicks with dutch block and countered with inside leg kick a lot. TW kicks don't score in this case.
