Hey Lisa! I'm with you. A lot of this 'praising' of older women not bothering to dress for the occasion is a move to put pressure on those of us who love to look our best. This is proven by the fact that the famous women in their 20's and 30's are NOT showing up with undone hair and no make up. If younger women put on make up why shouldn't we?
I believe in the phrase, 'You do you.' But your point about turning up to a big do, such as a wedding, and NOT doing your hair or looking your best (even with only lipstick) is a sign of disrespect. Personally, I think Pam looks like an old lady in many of the photos, and that's fine, for her. I am Italian and I'll be darned if I ever go without my trademark red lip!
      Love you lady!
      Kisses,
      Antonia in London.

I remember Pamela saying in her interviews that she would go into character and be "her" back then. After her trauma healing and reclaiming herself, that character is no longer serving her. And the beautiful soul that we see now is her authentic true self. That takes courage, strength and balls! I see her as beautiful, and wise beyond her years. Truly inspiring!

Her stance on animal cruelty in fashion food and beauty is her most impressive achievement. Makeup free, older face, demonstrates she's evolving as a human being, and not stuck in a 'PR' rut, simply perpetuating her original, fame/notoriety-bringing persona. As an older woman, I feel she is a role model for the non-celebrity woman, unlike soooo many out there.

At the risk of putting it too simply, I believe we all should do what brings us joy. It is simple to follow that rule. For me, dying my hair wasn't bringing me joy so I stopped! Now I have long salt and pepper hair (at 34 years old) and I feel free. If that stops bringing me joy, I will color it again.
We all as women put so much pressure on each other. I love that you ALWAYS support other women Lisa. You are an inspiration ❤❤❤

Her confidence and growth and maturity is what I find most beautiful about her. I can't wait to see how she continues to evolve and embrace her entire self as she ages. I hope she goes completely gray, no matter what the shade is. Go Pamela!!! Some other women who are also inspirational are Justine Bateman, Meryl Streep, and Frances McDormand. We need more positive role models for aging as women.

I like that she is not stuffed with fillers and botox and maybe that is what she is trying to say it's ok we are all beautiful in are own way . Some people look hideous there faces are like caricatures of them with those fillers and botox and clownish makeup and that what is passing as beautiful . Look at Pamela and Madonna no comparison. Pamela is beautiful even with out her makeup. Strong women who is not worry what others think.

Pamela Anderson writes every single day, apparently. People who write ,are probably more introspective and thoughtful. I think she’s just going through a phase of not wanting to wear make up. Of course , opinions are more about one’s perceptions than whatever they are critiquing .I think Pamela was often looking very “made up” so the contrast is severe. Thank you for this video, Lisa.

I’ll tell you what, since Covid, I’ve gone gray. I’ve gotten more compliments on my hair than I ever had on my fake blond hair. Just this week, I got out of my little pickup truck at the hardware store, and some random man said to me, “Wow! I love your hair! It’s so elegant, and pretty!” When you let your hair go, you will be surprised. I never knew the color of my hair either, but it really flatters me more than the fake blond I did. Was wearing makeup!

Right. It's horrible. Sometimes I for some reason are fed in my IG flow with sites that only do "this is what she (famous person) looks like now. Then they show a young version and then an older version, often very close up, with bad light and not the best picture of this person. The comment field are then filled with horrible comments about this person's aging. And. It is always, always only about women and their aging...I would never cope with being famous and in attention of everyones eye, in every angle, and always be judged.

There is a trend coming down the pike of less is more. Buying less, less consumption PERIOD. A part of that is less covering up imperfections, embarrassing your skin literally and figuratively. The realization that we’ve been conditioned to consume, consume, consume to make us look better so we feel better is a huge lie. That is another reason why Pamela’s no makeup look has resonated with people.

My two cents, dont let your outward appearence be where you get your self esteem from , but let it be a reflection of who you are on the inside...perhaps her overdone makeup reminds her of how superficial she once was and how much pain that life caused her, for her she needs to go to the extreme opposite for awhile to be authentically herself, learning to love herself as she is and not how society wants her to look, she tired of trying to be that person, i think she will find balance and her true self and we will see her putting more effort into looking pretty for the world again. This is her time and her terms and she needs people to see her, and thats why its important. Woman must always remember its whats inside that counts and never let anyone explot you.
For the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.

I worked in a town where we had many celebrities who lived and shopped . They always dressed down and never wore makeup. Most people wouldn’t even recognize them. One actress told me because she is always so made up for work that she hates putting anything on her face when she’s not working. It seems to be a very common feeling amongst actresses.

Thought provoking and interesting discussion. I’m a 59 year old woman who celebrates all there is about being female. I love my daily ritual of hair, makeup and fashion. I colour my hair and have no intention of going grey, ever. That said, I am a “you do you and I’ll do me” kind of girl. If it makes you feel good, do it. I do find that an increasing group of women try to shame you if you don’t embrace the no makeup, grey goddess look and that upsets me. Why do women feel the need to judge? How does my attention to makeup etc. threaten them? I’m me, this is what makes me feel like me. I agree 100% that when you are invited to an event by or for someone, you should always take the time to be the best version of yourself that you can. For me, it’s a sign of respect and a nod toward what the person means to you. Thanks for the thoughtful conversation.❤️

Paris Fashion week is a global phenomenon event. It celebrates human inspiration and creativity through design, fashion and style. Now throw in the statement of global celebrity Pamela dressed in haute couture but without her renowned made up face! This is art! And the result is the debate going on world-wide on this simple 'statement' act. It is truly a masterpiece, that we are all admiring or critiquing and interpreting from our own perspective. This is ART. Bravo! Such fun! 👏❤

I’m happy for her if she goes gray because it’s bad for your health to use all those hair dyes, plus gray hair is beautiful. I say we should all be allowed to be ultra made up if we want or to be ultra natural if we choose without being criticized. I think with Pamela, her roles and public life focused so heavily on her appearance to the point of objectification at times that I assume it would feel very freeing for her to go makeup free. This won’t be popular, but here it goes. How many men are criticized for not wearing makeup to special events? How many men are judged by how they look rather than what they do? I love wearing makeup, when I feel like it. It’s why I enjoy watching videos like yours. To learn how to use the least makeup to best advantage. And I totally understand that makeup can help us all feel more confident. But all the really important things in life, and in our own development, come from within. And, in that sense, whether or not to use makeup seems a trivial choice.

in an interview with Elle, she disclosed that her makeup artist, Alexis Voguel, tragically lost her life to breast cancer in 2019. As a result, Anderson explained that it feels more appropriate for her to forgo makeup without Alexis by her side.

We all get to choose. That's the bottom line. I am continually stunned that people think they have the right to express their opinions about how someone else looks. Of course, we have our thoughts, but I was taught to keep those to myself. What someone else does is their business, not mine. When I was a little kid, I was so pale that my mom started putting a bit of blush on me so that my teachers would stop asking if I was sick! haha! I grew up "putting my best face forward", and that means putting makeup on, but it is always and always will be just for me. I also have always felt that putting some effort towards my appearance is not only a sign of respect for who I am seeing and where I am going, but it's also a matter of self-respect. I have been teased over the years for taking the time to put makeup on. It's my choice. All that said, let's be kind to one another.

Feeling confident and comfortable is imperative. Personally, I have always felt uncomfortable going out of the house without some makeup! It’s definitely a confidence thing. ❤

I love makeup, that’s why I watch Lisa’s channel for years now! I love that Pamela seems to have no more desire to be the prettiest girl in the room! Feeling confident in who you are and how you look is a great accomplishment! I know why I put on makeup - to feel good, but sometimes the reason has to do with social expectations .

I absolutely love what she's doing. I think she wore all that makeup before because she was in "character" and there's nothing wrong with that. Look at her when she was discovered, she was very natural so I think this is really who she is. We can't expect anyone to stay the same forever because we shouldn't. We all must evolve and change with however WE want to, not how others perceive we should be. I love Pamela and I applaud her for being real and authentic but it doesn't matter what any of us think about it because its her business and hers only. Great video Lisa and I really liked hearing your thoughts on this subject because as we age (I'm 53) I think we should talk more about how we should do what we want and not worry at all what others think because in the end it really doesn't matter.

I have always adored and appreciated Pamela Anderson's feminine appearance. Her makeup was always done to perfection and in such a way that showcased her delicate features. It was a bit surprising for me to see her attend such a high profile event sans her iconic look that we all know. That said, I get her point about enjoying herself and her time in Paris rather than spending time concerned with her appearance. I feel it shows she is comfortable in her own skin, and exudes self confidence. Looking at her pictures on Instagram shows a more down-to-earth lifestyle that nurtures and embraces who she truly is and for that I applaud her.

Ok I making another comment. I guess I’m just not reading a lot into it. I personally don’t think she is doing it for a bad reason but I do think there is a motive behind going to events without makeup but it could be as simple as just letting people know it is ok. I do think she will go back to wearing makeup for events in the future. Women are beautiful and we are all different and I enjoy seeing the differences.

Almost her whole life she is a sex symbol. Let's be honest, we have no idea how a life like that would be. I can understand that she is tired about the pressure to present herself like this the rest of her life. And don't forget, she's never been the prettiest girl in the room. She is and was THE sex symbol of a whole generation.

I applaud Pamela Anderson's confidence. For me, personally, I wouldn't feel "complete" without doing my makeup, especially if I were getting dressed up for an event or special occasion. It would be like wearing no makeup on my wedding day!! I KNOW I look better and feel better with makeup on. I also enjoy wearing makeup. It makes me feel "pretty." It's a personal choice, and you have to do what makes you feel good inside. Whether you choose to wear makeup or not, it's about feeling good about yourself, not about what others think.

First off Lisa, I would like to say you're beautiful and this is a great subject! You know that saying "For everything there is a season" Well this is a season for Pam Anderson. She has done the bombshell and she finds herself in a new season of life that she needs to explore. I commend her for that. Perhaps she wants to be known for more than her sex appeal and be taken more seriously. I'll tell you, I was very impressed when I saw her on the View speaking about her friend Julien Assange. She handled herself with elegance under a barrage of tough questions. That is a brutal panel and she was very well spoke. I commend this season of her life and when she's done with this season, perhaps she'll employ a 5 minute makeup routine. Anyway you look at it, she's a beautiful human inside and out.
