Awesome video man. Preparedness is not something to take lightly. You should always have at leat a backup to your backup plans. Great content as always!

That wire saw looks like more work than it's worth I'll take my bacho or silky hands down over that , thanks for sharing and I agree a poncho shelter is a definite great option

If you are going to rely on one of those blizzard bags or the various mylar versions, throw some chemical body warmers in your kit.
It makes a world of difference.

Looks like you had one of the military spiral wire saws. I've heard that spiral wire is good for bone, and can also be used in scroll saws for fine woodworking. However, my experience using it with to cut limbs for shelter construction has been that it doesn't take much friction and flex to break it. Also, the set screws in the rings can sometimes let go while the saw is in use. Configured as a bow saw, the tension from the green limb launched one of the rings like a catapult.

The wire saw that you sell is far superior in my opinion

Literally up at the cabin right now in a blizzard, probably 10 feet of snow already snd expecting 2 more. We had 2 tires blow out on the snow cat, ONLY 1 spare I just swapped out. Preparedness isn't a Gimmick. This matters. I overprepared this summer and for this trip up. Still have to limp down with my entire family, and I'm SO Glad I at least prepared enough tools and food and shelter supplies that IF we can't make it down with the cat, we will be ok. Won't be a fun hike down if that happens but we can do it. Videos like these help give me ideas on how to prepare and what works. THANKS for doing this and sharing

I have that same waist pack. It is great for a survival kit. Got some good information from your video. I like to carry 3 chem lights and use one inside my shelter, a great light source, I’ve used them for years camping instead of battery operated light. Have a esbit stove but didn’t think about putting it in that first aid pouch for my kit. That I will now do. Really good video.

Might be better to bring a heavy Mill trash bag with you fill it full of leaves and make a bro's bed .. use the emergency blanket on top of you to keep warmth in..

That water looks like it might have had some flavor to it already 😂. Good kit, I have one of those waist packs, handy size for many applications.

Awesome Video! The W81 MOLLE II Waist Pack LCE pouch is pretty sweet! I have one in OCP. Is the MARPAT Parka the ECWCS Gen 3 Level 6?

Where did you find the pouch for the esbit? Or is it just a random pouch that happened to fit perfectly?

Your vids are always enjoyed, wish I had the patience to make them. Don't go out as much since my kids have grown but still hit the woods every couple months. Would make a good short distance GHB.

I like the way that you set this up in my case I have a small sling bag that would also be perfect I have an Esbit stove that I use with multiple types of fuel including home made fire starters that both throw a lot of heat but also burn a long time for an Esbit stove I also use a mini alcohol stove with it. It pairs up very nicely with it plus I can also use twigs too. I am wondering where you get the cravat from as I would love to get some? Please let me know what you think. Also befor I forget where do you get the whorl bags from? As I can not find them.

I'd like to know what poncho that is. I've been looking for one, especially with all the rain we've had lately in Northern California.

Is that the 30 min or 4 hour water purifier pill? Is there a difference between the 2? Which do you prefer?
