Jackson is a low percentage thrower (sub 60), a good 2nd round pick. The Patriots using their SF pick for him would be a good move. You can't get over 60% in the NFL your bottom half on the QB list and a bust as a high draft pick, running can help but only short term because defenses eventually light up QBs out of the pocket.
Just because Matt Leinart was a bust doesn't mean he doesn't have any relevant discussion to offer, just because his skills didn't translate to the NFL doesn't mean that he's not intelligent about football, and he knows more about the quarterback position than anyone in that room or in this comment section
The Xman If the Giants take Barkley and Jets take a QB and he becomes a Super Star, the Giants would be the laughing stock in NY because they actually need a QB as well.
I wouldn't discount either of the Allens or Lauletta to be a surprise, depending on where they end up (Lauletta to New England, for example). Look at the current top 12-18 quarterback stats in the NFL.
Lamar Jackson's score of "13" =ing (a 4th grade educational level, no comprehension or almost unable to read as an adult) on the NFL IQ test translates into maybe a future doing Heisman Trophy House Commercials! But it takes a lot more in the NFL!
@@xxlpeterpan Yeah, I've called him the "Human Highlight Reel". I also took some heat on our show for saying that I would be ok with Browns drafting Barkley one and Jackson at 4. The Knight of Awesomeness i dont think you quite get where im coming from. Drafting a qb is waaaaay safer now than in 1999. All the colleges run pro aspects. In the 80s an nfl qb averaged less than 20 passes a game. Qbs in high school average 20 passes a game in 2018.
The Knight of Awesomeness and on top pf colleges running pro like systems a lot of the nfl teams are running college style plays due to the lack of oline talent coming out of college. Its just a different era now.
Dustin Roberts Okay I think I see where you're coming from and while I agree on some aspects I still have to disagree with QB as the "safest" because QB still get picked in the 3 round and on and usually those picks don't plan out... If we say safest pick I would say a OL/DL because you can extensively see where there body at from speed, power, and agility. This guy throws directly to the defense. The Browns need to take Barkley at 1 and Chubb at 4. Stop chasing a position that you can neither scout nor develop and build a functional team.
Midnight Jones that thinking is why the former regime got the browns to where they are now they aren't taking a running back first in the draft when running back is deep in this years draft & they don't need one they need a QB they already passed on Wentz & Watson
i believe the point he's making is that even if the Cleveland Browns found the next Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers they don't have the staff to make him anything more than the next Josh McCown. There's not a guy in the building who knows how to develop or train a QB in the NFL. He'd be right. History has shown as much. Maybe that's changed a bit with the addition of Todd Haley if you can keep him sober long enough to pay attention. anyhoo, these guys are all about the same. take Barkley at 1 and possibly Mayfield at 4 or Chubb.

Midnight Jones bruh when’s the last time a good QB was developed that wasn’t a top pick? Unless your team is the patriots you have no chance of doing that.

Some of Sam's numbers last year compared to the year before is he played fewer games in 2016 but DAMN 22 individual turnovers is unacceptable at any level.
