Nick Hedgecock I agree. I think I like to look at the brighter side. Baker will always throw more picks IMO, it’s just the way he plays, but if he’s behind a good O-Line he’ll do a lot better. A good O-Line is more important than a good receiving core.
If you're a high first round QB these days and don't win a Super Bowl by your 5th game ever you are a bust. I'm a Lions fan so I've seen my fair share of busts and Baker is better than any of them ever were.

1. Baker Mayfield - What can you say about him man? He’s had a lot of ups and downs, but this has to be seen as an average pick right? - 5,5/10 2. Saquon Barkley - Super talented, amazing player and had a great start to his career. Despite that, he’s a running back who has missed 20 games in the last 2 years and hasn’t looked anywhere near what he was before his injuries. This is why running backs shouldn’t be top 10 picks. - 4/10 3. Sam Darnold - He has been a true failure in the league. Despite this, I blame the Jets for not having any idea on how to build a support system around the kid. Terrible coaching, no weapons or o-line and just throwing him out there to be battered. - 2/10 4. Denzel Ward - Very good pick. Still very young and has had 4 great seasons as their No. 1 corner. - 8/10 5. Bradley Chubb - So far you can definitely say this pick has been so so. He’s had some injury issues unfortunately, but that being said, he’s been elite when on the field. - 7/10 6. Quenton Nelson - Amazing pick, there was no way to see Luck retiring, so you can even nitpick and say they could’ve taken a Qb. He is the best guard in the league and the only critique you could have is some injury concerns. - 10/10 7. Josh Allen - What a huge risk this kid was, but opposed to Darnold, he was given a great head coach and coordinator, weapons to throw to and an awesome defense. He is a top 5 QB talent wise and a special player. (All this as a pats fan) - 10/10 8. Roquan Smith - Watched him a lot at Georgia and he translated perfectly to the NFL. 4 outstanding seasons including 3 all pro seasons. - 10/10 9. Mike McGlinchey - Solid player who has been very dependable until an injury this year. - 7/10 10. Josh Rosen - I’ve tried to find reasons to be an apologist for him, but he just wasn’t very good was he? Not to mention the pick that the cardinals hit for him turned into Andy Isabella, who also isn’t very good. - 0/10 11. Minkah Fitzpatrick - He is an absolute stud. An amazing safety who makes great plays in the run and pass game. All Pro level talent. That being said, he’s been all that for Pittsburg. The dolphins did get Austin Jackson for him, so I guess it’s a decent pick right? - 6,5/10 12. Vita Vea - Really great player who is fundamental in that awesome run defense. Some injury issues but still a great pick. - 8/10 13. Daron Payne - Another great player and leader for his defense. Has shown he was worth the pick. - 8/10 14. Marcus Davenport - A super bowl contender goes and trades 2 first round picks for a raw UTSA player who has been a fringe starter at best? Pretty terrible pick. 0/10 15. Kolton Miller - Not a great start to his career, but what a great player he’s turned into. Great player this year and probably an all-pro and pro bowl snub. - 8,5/10 16. Tremaine Edmunds - Rangy, young and great overall player. The modern linebacker is this kid. Great development into one of the better linebackers in this league. Great pick. - 8,5/10 17. Derwin James - Very tough to rate him. He is obviously extremely talented and a huge difference maker, especially in coverage. Despite that, he’s missed 29 games in 4 seasons!! Can’t deny the talent, so let’s just hope he can stay healthy. - 7/10 18. Jaire Alexander - Superstar player and probably a top 5 corner. Let’s hope this injury plagued season was just a small blip for a really great player. - 9/10 19. Leighton Vander Esch - When we look at the talent this draft had, it’s tough to see this as a good pick. He’s had some injury concerns and even when healthy, a 60% snap count LB is not what you expect out of a top 20 pick. - 4/10 20. Frank Ragnow - Had a tough season this year due to injury, but he is a top 5 center in the league for sure. - 7,5/10 21. Billy Price - Started one season and was average at best. Got benched and eventually traded to the Giants for a 7th rounder. - 1/10 22. Rashaan Evans - Not been as good as most thought he could become, but has been a solid starter on a good defense. - 5,5/10 23. Isaiah Wynn - This was the first year where he was able to get something going without injury issues. He’s shown flashes, but not great. - 5/10 24. DJ Moore - I think he has amazing talent and could be a superstar in this league. Unfortunately, he’s had really average QB play and hasn’t developed as much because of this. He can definitely prove that he’s better, but so far he’s great, but not a superstar. - 7/10 25. Hayden Hurst - They made up for this pick with getting Andrews in the same draft, but they have to be criticized for missing with this pick. If there’s any upside, he was traded for the pick that became J.K. Dobbins. - 2,5/10 26. Calvin Ridley - He is such a great player. 3 great seasons next to Julio and unfortunately missed this season, even though he was right to do it. Hope he comes back well, and I’m sure Atlanta will get something good for him if they do end up trading him. In the end, he’s been great, but never proven himself as a 100% no. 1, and Atlanta will probably have to lose him. Tough to grade. - 7,5/10 27. Rashaad Penny - He’s started 6 games in 4 years. He definitely has talent, but way too injury prone and unproductive to this point in his career to justify this high of a selection. 2/10 28. Terrell Edmunds - He’s a starter, but has definitely not lived up to the expectations as a first round pick. - 4,5/10 29. Taven Bryan - Not been a consistent starter and this year played around 30% of the snaps for a very bad team. - 2/10 30. Mike Hughes - Traded for a seventh rounder after starting less than 10 games. No value whatsoever - 0/10 31. Sony Michel - Hindsight is definitely 20/20 with Chubb being picked a few picks later, but he was a great starter and played a solid role on that super bowl team. He only lasted 2 seasons in NE though. - 4/10 32 - Lamar Jackson - MVP and amazing talent. He has definitely improved through the years and is just an awesome player to watch. Another player we hope won’t be hindered by some injury issues this year, but the talent and production is there for sure. - 10/10
Chidozie Osuji definitely wouldn’t have. The best team that selected a qb that he could’ve gone too was the Bills instead of Josh Allen, but he went to the perfect spot.
I love Lamar but I think not. In 2016-2019 they went 14-49-1.... I don't think any one QB (Wentz, Mahomes, Watson, Jackson) could be very successful if drafted by them
I miss hearing from Mayock on Draft Night. Nothing against DJ but I loved some the evaluation terms Mayock used. "This is a guy that I wouldn't want to find in a dark alley"
They helped out quite a few teams from 2018-2020, 2018: The Bills for not drafting Allen and the Ravens for not drafting Lamar, 2019: The Jaguars for not drafting Josh Allen the linebacker, and 2020: The Packers because if the Giants had started Eli one more year in 2019 and drafted Josh Allen instead of Daniel Jones, they could’ve got Tua or Herbert the next year and the Chargers would’ve ended up with Jordan Love instead of falling to the Packers
I've been waiting for these for ages. Thank you so much NFL Throwback, these Classic Drafts truly made April much easier for me last year. Please keep continuing to upload these and keep up the great work!!!
@Charlie B I was a believer in Allen as well, but to say he’s better than Jackson after one year isn’t necessarily accurate. Jackson’s peak has been better than Allen’s peak so far
I remember thinking Kolton Miller wow reach!?! Now I can't imagine what the Raiders Oline would be without him. What a pick! If Gruden did anything it was land us a franchise LT! Best Tackle in the draft I remember I wanted McGlinchey so bad. It all worked out!
I can’t find the entire video despite scouring TH-cam for - no joke - years. His interview was dramatic. You could see Lamar becoming teary eyed. It was an AMAZING display of passion mixed with resilience. If anyone ever find the entire tape @ me.
Caeleb Dinger as a ravens fan glad that didn’t happen but this year will be fun i don’t hate the steelers but the rivalry is always fun and competitive definitely the two most mature teams in the division
I mean he wasn’t bad his rookie year , he just had a terrible o line and coaching. Although now looking at it though, they could have gotten someone else easily considering they drafted two first round qbs which wasn’t smart at all
Ravens for life you just gonna ignore the fact that Kliff Kingsberry was his coach and that Steve Wilks is more of a defensive coach that ignores the offense. I do agree Murray is better but he also had a better situation in Arizona than Rosen
MrBlueD3V1L lol did you not see what I commented, his coaching staff and offensive line were garbo. He was unable to set his feet properly and look at his reads properly because of the 300+pound Defensive Lineman coming at him unblocked. He did good for the situation he was in but decent in terms of looking on the outside of things
Lamar might not have as much success in another system right away but it wouldn't take him long to be great in any system because he's smart and he works hard also he's obsessive about getting better. Baltimore Ravens players were saying that as a rookie sitting on the sidelines, Lamar was reading defenses better than Joe Flacco was.
He is the system. Because of Greg Roman, Baltimore would be a good run team with another QB, great with a scrambling guy, but their one of the greatest ever with Lamar
@@darkchocolate3390 either way hurts was a waste of a pick. not even the best te they drafted in that round. but at least they got a 2nd round pick from him

I feel bad for Rosen, even w/ the "9 mistakes before me" criticism...but it's amusingly apropos that the commissioner didn't have his jersey ready for him when he got to the stage @ 18:26. Really a sign of things to come (so far) for poor Josh Rosen XD
I JUST NOW noticed ALL the teams that passed on Lamar that could DESPERATELY need him right now, Was, NO, LV, Ten, NE, Car, Atl, and Pit, NE stands out because they had two chances to draft Lamar
@@ProfessionalWomanRespector They would’ve made the playoffs in a few of those years though since they still had Cam and Lamar would’ve been the PERFECT backup to him as they’re both dual threat QBs so you could run the same plays when Cam gets hurt, there’s no telling what Bryce Young is gonna do, at least with a proven veteran like Lamar he’d give the Panthers a chance at the playoffs with that defense
Funny seeing Ian say "it's gonna be Marcus Davenport" and then Mike Mayock immediately says he's wrong and goes on a whole tirade about Lamar...and it was still Marcus Davenport

9. Mike McGlinchey - Solid player who has been very dependable until an injury this year. - 7/10
10. Josh Rosen - I’ve tried to find reasons to be an apologist for him, but he just wasn’t very good was he? Not to mention the pick that the cardinals hit for him turned into Andy Isabella, who also isn’t very good. - 0/10
12. Vita Vea - Really great player who is fundamental in that awesome run defense. Some injury issues but still a great pick. - 8/10
13. Daron Payne - Another great player and leader for his defense. Has shown he was worth the pick. - 8/10
14. Marcus Davenport - A super bowl contender goes and trades 2 first round picks for a raw UTSA player who has been a fringe starter at best? Pretty terrible pick. 0/10
15. Kolton Miller - Not a great start to his career, but what a great player he’s turned into. Great player this year and probably an all-pro and pro bowl snub. - 8,5/10
16. Tremaine Edmunds - Rangy, young and great overall player. The modern linebacker is this kid. Great development into one of the better linebackers in this league. Great pick. - 8,5/10
17. Derwin James - Very tough to rate him. He is obviously extremely talented and a huge difference maker, especially in coverage. Despite that, he’s missed 29 games in 4 seasons!! Can’t deny the talent, so let’s just hope he can stay healthy. - 7/10
18. Jaire Alexander - Superstar player and probably a top 5 corner. Let’s hope this injury plagued season was just a small blip for a really great player. - 9/10
19. Leighton Vander Esch - When we look at the talent this draft had, it’s tough to see this as a good pick. He’s had some injury concerns and even when healthy, a 60% snap count LB is not what you expect out of a top 20 pick. - 4/10
20. Frank Ragnow - Had a tough season this year due to injury, but he is a top 5 center in the league for sure. - 7,5/10
21. Billy Price - Started one season and was average at best. Got benched and eventually traded to the Giants for a 7th rounder. - 1/10
22. Rashaan Evans - Not been as good as most thought he could become, but has been a solid starter on a good defense. - 5,5/10
23. Isaiah Wynn - This was the first year where he was able to get something going without injury issues. He’s shown flashes, but not great. - 5/10
24. DJ Moore - I think he has amazing talent and could be a superstar in this league. Unfortunately, he’s had really average QB play and hasn’t developed as much because of this. He can definitely prove that he’s better, but so far he’s great, but not a superstar. - 7/10
25. Hayden Hurst - They made up for this pick with getting Andrews in the same draft, but they have to be criticized for missing with this pick. If there’s any upside, he was traded for the pick that became J.K. Dobbins. - 2,5/10
27. Rashaad Penny - He’s started 6 games in 4 years. He definitely has talent, but way too injury prone and unproductive to this point in his career to justify this high of a selection. 2/10
28. Terrell Edmunds - He’s a starter, but has definitely not lived up to the expectations as a first round pick. - 4,5/10
29. Taven Bryan - Not been a consistent starter and this year played around 30% of the snaps for a very bad team. - 2/10
30. Mike Hughes - Traded for a seventh rounder after starting less than 10 games. No value whatsoever - 0/10
31. Sony Michel - Hindsight is definitely 20/20 with Chubb being picked a few picks later, but he was a great starter and played a solid role on that super bowl team. He only lasted 2 seasons in NE though. - 4/10
32 - Lamar Jackson - MVP and amazing talent. He has definitely improved through the years and is just an awesome player to watch. Another player we hope won’t be hindered by some injury issues this year, but the talent and production is there for sure. - 10/10
I like this type of comment. I also appreciate you showing some love to Josh Allen and Tremaine Edmunds as a Pats fan🤣
The fire 🔥 in Lamar jacksons eyes at the end in that interview WOW...
Because he knew he was overlooked over some qbs he know he was better than
Damn I miss mayock as an analyst
The raiders do too, I'm sure!
kevin jobling Where is he now?
@@broccolisidedish5014 the raiders hired him as their gm in 2019.
Imagine if Lamar went 1st overall would he have been an NFL MVP today
Chidozie Osuji definitely wouldn’t have. The best team that selected a qb that he could’ve gone too was the Bills instead of Josh Allen, but he went to the perfect spot.
Browns would have ruined him like their ruining Baker
Probably a unanimous MVP
I love Lamar but I think not. In 2016-2019 they went 14-49-1.... I don't think any one QB (Wentz, Mahomes, Watson, Jackson) could be very successful if drafted by them
@Fizzgig No other qb in his draft class has even made it to the divisional round
these are great....please do the 2010 draft next?
What a great draft. Go Lamar and the Ravens!
Man you could just tell by that last interview Lamar had IT.
This talk about Lamar possibly playing a different position or being in a tandem with Taysom was so incredibly out of pocket
“Sam Darnold has the highest ceiling and highest floor” on his floor he’s seeing ghosts 😬
I miss hearing from Mayock on Draft Night. Nothing against DJ but I loved some the evaluation terms Mayock used. "This is a guy that I wouldn't want to find in a dark alley"
Man, this draft was just the best, you can’t change my mind.
Look at the 2014 draft class
Shazier walking out 3 months after hurting his back still gets me 😭
This has to be one of the greatest classes of all time. Most of these guys are still studs
i remember crying because the broncos picked Bradley Chubb over like Josh Rosen, but now i’m for sure not crying over that pick
The giants not taking Lamar is insane 😂
They helped out quite a few teams from 2018-2020, 2018: The Bills for not drafting Allen and the Ravens for not drafting Lamar, 2019: The Jaguars for not drafting Josh Allen the linebacker, and 2020: The Packers because if the Giants had started Eli one more year in 2019 and drafted Josh Allen instead of Daniel Jones, they could’ve got Tua or Herbert the next year and the Chargers would’ve ended up with Jordan Love instead of falling to the Packers
Giants play in New Jersey
Still ain't win shit
shut up. just, shut up. in 2018 there was NO WAY you would have taken Lamar over Saquon Barkley at #2, if you were the GM. Stop it.
I've been waiting for these for ages. Thank you so much NFL Throwback, these Classic Drafts truly made April much easier for me last year. Please keep continuing to upload these and keep up the great work!!!
Will do!
@@NFLVault Great!!!
2 years later Lamar and Baker were a part for the game of the season
@Charlie B josh allen is an overrated bum, hell regress next year
@@jordanearl3313 And you root for what team that Josh Allen probably beat?
It goes Lamar he had a down year then Josh Allen and then Baker
@Charlie B So? Nick Foles beat Brady, does that mean he’s better?
@Charlie B I was a believer in Allen as well, but to say he’s better than Jackson after one year isn’t necessarily accurate. Jackson’s peak has been better than Allen’s peak so far
Gonna be missing this this year
This draft will go down as one of the greatest.
I remember thinking Kolton Miller wow reach!?! Now I can't imagine what the Raiders Oline would be without him. What a pick! If Gruden did anything it was land us a franchise LT! Best Tackle in the draft I remember I wanted McGlinchey so bad. It all worked out!
Arizona trades up to draft Rosen before Miami....
*Ironic*
Love that people wanted Josh Rosen instead of Josh Allen 😂
I can’t find the entire video despite scouring TH-cam for - no joke - years. His interview was dramatic. You could see Lamar becoming teary eyed. It was an AMAZING display of passion mixed with resilience. If anyone ever find the entire tape @ me.
32nd haha. The stare after saying he’s going to get the Raven’s a Super Bowl! Believe Dat!
Thanks for posting this it really feels good hearing Matthew Maconiha voice leading into this
Now the ravens have Ro on defense & Lamar on offense 🐦🐦
As a Steeler fan I can remember wanting us so badly to take Lamar at our pick. Could’ve let him sit behind Ben
Caeleb Dinger as a ravens fan glad that didn’t happen but this year will be fun i don’t hate the steelers but the rivalry is always fun and competitive definitely the two most mature teams in the division
@@ghgftyy66556 your username tho🤣
I don’t hate anybody but the browns I’m a bengals fan and the ravens are my second favorite team in the division
That Rosen Pick will haunt me.
at least you got murray
I mean he wasn’t bad his rookie year , he just had a terrible o line and coaching. Although now looking at it though, they could have gotten someone else easily considering they drafted two first round qbs which wasn’t smart at all
Ravens for life you just gonna ignore the fact that Kliff Kingsberry was his coach and that Steve Wilks is more of a defensive coach that ignores the offense. I do agree Murray is better but he also had a better situation in Arizona than Rosen
Ponster The Monster bingo
MrBlueD3V1L lol did you not see what I commented, his coaching staff and offensive line were garbo. He was unable to set his feet properly and look at his reads properly because of the 300+pound Defensive Lineman coming at him unblocked. He did good for the situation he was in but decent in terms of looking on the outside of things
I’m so happy we got Lamar
Lamar might not have as much success in another system right away but it wouldn't take him long to be great in any system because he's smart and he works hard also he's obsessive about getting better. Baltimore Ravens players were saying that as a rookie sitting on the sidelines, Lamar was reading defenses better than Joe Flacco was.
He is the system. Because of Greg Roman, Baltimore would be a good run team with another QB, great with a scrambling guy, but their one of the greatest ever with Lamar
This class was massively deep.
Please upload more drafts from the past. I need more content to binge at home.
What Josh Rosen actually meant, "The league done messed up"
Its crazy that 30 other teams including the ravens passed on lamar
Ravens were basically in the clear once the Saints picked someone else.
That Allen pick would go on to cause Dorsey to go into that epic fit in the bills booth & one of all time funniest
If only the Ravens had taken Ridley instead of Hurst. Damn.
Eh not really. He gets most production because he plays with Julio.
@@darkchocolate3390 either way hurts was a waste of a pick. not even the best te they drafted in that round. but at least they got a 2nd round pick from him
Still got a 2nd out of Hurst.
Hurst help that run heavy offense last year. So it is better that they took hurst instead of ridley.
If they drafted Ridley, they probably wouldn’t have drafted Hollywood Brown in 2019. So honestly it’s hard to say.
Yesssssss plz do more I live these vids 👍🏾
Cant believe patriots could of had Lamar
UNBELIEVABLE LAMAR WENT 32 TO THE RAVENS AFTER THE RAVENS TRADED BACK TWICE IN THE FIRST ROUND IN STILL DRAFTED 2 PLAYERS IN THE FIRST
I am a Cowboys fan but I remember pulling for somebody to draft Lamar. I'm honestly really happy the guy had possibly the greatest QB season in history. Who woulda thought?

Im glad Lamar went to Ravens.
He would have been weird with really any other team.
imagine passing up on lamar. crazy he dropped to 32. though im extremely happy as a ravens fan
Right now the Baker Mayfield pick is working out so much better than Darnold.
Josh allen worked out better then baker mayfield ...
I feel bad for Rosen, even w/ the "9 mistakes before me" criticism...but it's amusingly apropos that the commissioner didn't have his jersey ready for him when he got to the stage @ 18:26. Really a sign of things to come (so far) for poor Josh Rosen XD
Glad My Jets Got Darnold in this Draft ✈
He is the only good player on the actual Jets roster after the Jamal Adams trade.
Nelson at 6 was such a great pick
I JUST NOW noticed ALL the teams that passed on Lamar that could DESPERATELY need him right now, Was, NO, LV, Ten, NE, Car, Atl, and Pit, NE stands out because they had two chances to draft Lamar
Carolina does not need a quarterback.
@@ProfessionalWomanRespectorafter that garbage you just seen Bryce show are YOU SUREEEEEEEE they don’t need a QB? Lol
@@lornegreen6755 yes
@@lornegreen6755 I honestly feel bad for him, he’s on the WORST team and they’re already giving up on him
look at josh allen man, so inspirational
I still think the jets getting darnold was the right thing.
Barkley is the best rb since ap was drafted. Hoping he gets back on track this year with new coaching and even Neal or ekwonu
Funny seeing Ian say "it's gonna be Marcus Davenport" and then Mike Mayock immediately says he's wrong and goes on a whole tirade about Lamar...and it was still Marcus Davenport
