I been using shokz for everything since 2017. It's awesome to be able to hear your environment while wearing them. If you don't want to hear your environment, just plug in ear plugs and suddenly your head is a subwoofer. I am using them for everything. Computer, gaming, phone, music, etc. I put them on in the morning, take them off in the evening. I am watching this video because I am thinking of upgrading to open run pro2.
It is like having a speaker in your head, almost telepathy. I can bike with it on bike trails and listen to youtube videos while still hearing important noises. I'll use it around the house with a tablet to watch videos without making other people hear what I am listening to. They are great at work so you can still hear other people. I too can wear these for hours. The swim ones are great if you have a pool as phones and tablets are all water proof already. I feel like these headphones could save marriages. I even stuck a mod mic wireless to the side of one to get a better microphone for gaming before. (have since switched to a desktop ORCA001 cardioid mic which works like a really really good directional speaker phone microphone)
I've had them since about 2017 as well. This is my 3rd pair. The only reason why I bought new ones originally was because I lost the other 2. They pretty much stay on my head, or around my neck when I'm not using them, all day.
I do not think it is safety wear bluetooth earphones all those hours. I do not even know if that vibration in your head can create problems in the near-far future.
Thanks for the comparison! I can't decide which ones to get lol. Don't forget one of the biggest reasons people need these: SAFETY! Being able to hear the world around you while out running, etc. is a big deal for safety, especially for women out alone ✌
I have a pair of these and use them all the time for work it's like having a radio on in the background and you can hear your surroundings so your ready to talk and great for safety at work I couldn't recommend these enough 😊👍 and shokz are the best sounding on the market and no I'm not paid by them just a very happy user of this product Love the video Danny thanks for your hard work it really shows appreciate you 😊👍
I'm still using my first generation Aftershokz on a daily basis and I love them. I have congenital conductive deafness in one ear (the nerve is intact but the middle ear bones don't work), so I went my whole life deaf in one ear. But with bone conduction headphones I can hear from both sides! Not a lot of people like me. But that's why I wear them, and I love them. Mostly I listen to podcasts and audiobooks, but you're right -- if you're looking for audiophile quality sound, forget about these.
I have the older OpenMove. They don't have much bass, but you have the vibration, which personally, I enjoy. Takes a week or so to get used to them, but once I did, I don't even want to use the in ear buds any more. I'm about to upgrade to the Pro 2
I can help complete who they are for: cyclists, because we truly need to hear the traffic or world around us while enjoying the music (also skiers, runners who are on a trafficked road, etc). Secondly, parents of small kids who want to be able to listen to a podcast or music while making lunch, trying to tidy up but must be able to hear their kids loud and clear at all times. Not saying you should be faking attention to your kids and actually listening to an audiobook, just saying parents of little ones need to always be aware and this is one way to do it. I know these because I have been all of the above and I love these headphones.
PS re sound quality: they come with earplugs and if you put them in, the quality sounds way better because you don’t have the din of life. Also very good for airplanes where there is a lot of white noise.
I have been using Aftershokz OpenMove for 4 years while cycling to work and back home, so being able to hear surrounding is very important. Now looking for replacement for it. There is one point that I would like to know is that does the additional speakers on OpenRun 2 obstruct surrounding sounds a lot when compared to OpenRun 1?
What were the OTHER phones you recommended on 6:10 "if you care at all about music quality"? It was too fast for me, and the transcription isn't accurate...
How much of a difference in audio would you say the Openrun Pro 2 is over the Openswim Pro? Recently got the Openrun Pro 2's and while they're quite nice, I sorta regret having lesser water resistance in exchange for slightly better audio and USB-C charging.
@JustAFatGuyInTX the pro 2 I think sound about 30% better and get a bit louder. I know it's hard.... I'd probably just go with the swims and get different buds for overall audio quality.
I started with the OpenSwim Pro and was really happy with them, especially because the MP3 mode is noticeably louder than Bluetooth and even louder than the OpenRun Pro 2-something that wasn’t mentioned in the video. I used them a lot for running and cycling, but eventually upgraded to the OpenRun Pro 2, mainly for the convenience of USB-C charging. The OpenSwim cable was easy to forget and doesn’t match my other chargers. I also find the sound quality on the OpenRun Pro 2 a definite improvement, so the upgrade was worth it for me. Still, I’m glad I kept the OpenSwim, as swimming can get pretty boring. Having music underwater, especially during heavy triathlon swim training, adds a great change of pace.
It looks like Open Run 1 and 2 are hybrid earphones. Bone and air conduction. How loud it need to be to other person listen to your music or conversation? Because im in doubt if i try the Open Run 1 ou the Pro2 as I intend to use it to run and at the office too. So its going to be a problem if other people can hear the sound. Thanks
That's mainly what I use them for throughout the day, for audiobooks, podcasts, and they're great for phone conversations as well. Music quality is good... but honestly, I'd rather be able to hear my surroundings moreso than music while I run since I train in the city and want to know what's around me. I find audiobooks and podcasts easier to listen to when I'm out running. I'll use my more expensive speakers at home for high quality music.
you can barely hear it outside the headphones up close at full volume, and by then it's loud enough to give whoevers wearin it a headache so you should be fine, get some earplugs (loops are my pick atm) and you have noise cancelling and better audio anywhere anytime
@@Feastalisk thank you for the info. Do you think it’ll be silent in office settings? The room is not so silent but not so noisy either! Wanted to get as much info as possible before investing $180 on this!
@@etherlords88i tried the regular open-run (vibration only) at a quiet empty Target store. It felt super loud due to a quiet environment and when i wore it but when my wife wore it right next to me i heard nothing. Consider the regular open run as it is bone conduction vibration only
I have the basic openmove model and I can guarantee that they don't leak sound while being worn, they do however vibrate pretty loud If they're placed on a hard surface so that the sound gets amplified a whole lot more than when you're wearing them, so rest assured as long as they're on your head the sound leakage will be minimal even at max volume
@ Thanks, I went for the open move pro 2 Eliud Kipchoge edition and tested at office, leakage is almost none. Highly satisfied with the sound, battery and amazed by the Bluetooth range, it gets connected to my laptop at home 4 story up when I park my car below. 😅
Great video! However I needed to tell you that your sound and cadence and way of speaking is uncannily like the TH-camr Joe Scott, I thought it was him when I wasn’t looking!
Dude! Stop calling them earbuds! They don't go in your ear! They are headphones! Actually, they are the only "true" headphones, since they act against your head, not your ears directly!
I bought a new pair of open run pro 2 and I am NOT happy with the sound quality. Bone conducting unit is very weak in the new model. There is no bass at all compared to the real bone conducting open run pro and open swim pro , I have them all. There is no point to buy a new model if you have already got the open run pro and/or swim pro as you will probably not like the sound of the dynamic units in terms of bass quality and quantity. It will be a step back. I am really disappointed with that , wasted the money.
Does it sound good the old ones were not that good sound wise. The openmove I think it was called were the best form shozk it had loud bass and where good the new ones are so mid idk why they change the design

The sound leakage is non existent it’s just because he’s using a microphone.
*is not noticeable

Is there any spatial awareness with the Oladance earphones?

I got my first pair of shokz about a year ago and over time they have replaced all of my ear buds.
Would they be good for audio books?
the best for audio books in quiet environments
👆🏽literally best for audio books been on audible more often because of these. Great when listening to long podcasts
I love my minis! I wear them like 16 hours a day
Would these be the “top brand”?
Does the pro2 fit into the case of the pro1? I prefer the pro1's smaller case.

Are the open run pro 2 waterproof / sweatproof
I create a new eq profile and raised all the eq setting to max and name the profile Loud and it is 20% lauder
Do I need the app to upload music on OpenSwim? The point is that (for some reason) the app isn't available worldwide
@@ghostishev you know... I think you need the app to enable the bluetooth vs mp3.
If you have the basic openswims those are just mp3 only so it'd default to mp3
