- Paul Cronin (8 July 1938 - 13 September 2019) was an Australian actor who played iconic roles in the Australian television series Matlock Police,The Sullivans, and The Flying Doctors. He won the Silver Logie five times, including three years consecutively from 1978, the most awarded actor in Australia.
He died in Melbourne at the age of 81.

Paul also played Matthew Caine in the mini-series MATTHEW AND SON with Darius Perkins, who unfortunately, also passed away recently and who I met on the set of Neighbours at HSV7 in 1985. Paul played I think for memory the role of the State Coroner and it was a very intelligently written series, round about 1984 I think....But I'll always remember him in Matlock riding the motorbike HK-136 that I had dreams about when I was a kid, as well as the white CIB Monaro!!And I didn't miss one chase!! Paul was one my inspirational life role models in Matlock Police and The Sullivans, his natural characters.

Sorry but I'd had no idea that Paul Cronen had parst away and like his family agree he will be sadly missed and of all the TV shows he was in for me was Matlock police IV got the sound track to that tv show both the start sound track and then ending sound track per every day or year of his passing I myself will play the Matlock police sound track in memory of Paul Cronen and Paul rip we are thinking of you
