As soon as he loaded Legend-43 I started thinking he was flying way too close to the Sun. It's a damn shame to see the channel go, but I can't say I'm really surprised either.
As a non-Babymetal fan and having never heard of that channel, it sounds like FTFG jumped from doing a good service of having otherwise unavailable or lost content for the good of the fans and jumped into piracy. You're absolutely right. I can't afford a Lamborghini either; that doesn't mean I can steal it. This is no different.
Ah, but they'll say it's not stealing Bro. They will then make arguments to justify getting around not paying for a ticket, and act as if being poor or in a country that doesn't have access makes them entitled to the content.
Not sure why this was even needed, BabyMetal had every right to take down a channel that is clearly breaking copyright. Also I bought the movie and had it shipped from Japan, cost about $100 Australian dollars shipped. Be a real fan of the band and support them by buying their releases and going to concerts when you can. Don’t let the FOMO get to you, the dvd/bluray will still be available in 6 months or even longer.

I was always a bit curious how that guy got away with it while some reactors were struggeling with copyright issues. Now we know he didn't, in the end. Uploading Legend 43 so soon was probably overplaying his cards. But however understandable, the demise of that channel is a substantial loss for us overseas Kitsunes, as that was the one place where you could consistently get decent English subtitles. If Babymetal is meant to keep on expanding internationally, Amuse should find a way to provide that service themselves in some form or the other. All you got from them op to now was the official lyric sheet, and for some songs not even that. People like Duane Metal and AJ Heartley have done a good job at explaining the songs to us, but that is not the same as having a decent translation on screen.
Amuse didn't strike or close down anything. The culprit is Live Viewing Japan, who thinks they have perpetual rights to all BM content. I got one strike from them, FTFG was probably unlucky to get multiple. Reactors have been getting strikes occasionally for the last year or so. They went after Legend 43 hard. Amuse did recently claim L43, which means no more L43 on YT.
Just for those who think just because Amuse gets the ad money from copyright claims it is ok to post their content, the amount is less than they would get from the same number of views on their own channels so they are still making a loss. However Koba has said he has no problem with reaction channels as long as they don’t portray Babymetal in a bad light
Except they don't post that much on their channel. So there's no lose, only what they make on copyright claims. That's said I'm not arguing afraid their rights to have the channel taken down. That channel was pushing the limits so hard, and lasted so long, I was starting to think it was secretly an Amuse channel. Edit: had to fix an autocorrect
@@chrisharris1522 they absolutely would. I dont disagree with you at all. I'm just saying they don't put much on their channel so they are already losing money by not putting anything up. I can honestly say that almost no one saw it in the theater. I went on the second showing and only 6 people in the theater. This was the only theater in Houston Texas showing it that day. And after talking to employees, they said it wasn't much better on the first showing. Having said that, it really was an awesome experience, but nothing you couldn't see on any DVD of their other concerts.

The channel posting the movie was just plain stupid. The channel was fine posting what it was and Amuse were getting the copyright cash. I watched the channel a lot , but this was a very bad idea.
Yeah, knew uploading that was a huge mistake. It was not only in the theaters but also just released for sale on Blu Ray. I was like what are you doooooooing? I think I know who the channel belonged too and they travel all over to see BM. Still shocked me they uploaded the entire thing. 🤘🦊🤘
I wasn't able to see Legend 43 in the theater. Was shocked to see the movie uploaded to TH-cam but had not yet watched it. Totally understandable it would be taken down.
Legend 43 was only at select locations, so I understand people wanting to see it by any means necessary, but this was definitely a bone headed move by uploading the whole movie. At the end of the day I'd rather pay more money to see a live show and do the traveling. If this was at a theater closer to me, I probably would have gone to see it. We lost a good channel, but FAFO.
i just tried creating a babymetal video where i dance along to one of the blueray-recorded sets (legend metal galaxy), and it was a 100% NO GO. i could not get it posted on TH-cam, it was all 100% copyrighted. I even submitted a fair use claim, and amuse rejected it. they're cracking down on youtube i guess 😭
We do need sites that don't just post "official" BM MVs - they're pale comparisons compared to lives with intros and genuine track and subtitles. Amuse (what a surprise) seem to do next to nothing on that front.
In the USA, willful infringement of copyright law can result in up $150,000 and jail time AND legal fees (the cost of lawyers to sue the infringer). If Amuse obtained a list from TH-cam of people who downloaded Legend 43 from FTFG’s channel, each person could be fined a minimum of $750 or more and legal fees. So, I agree with the argument against not being able to afford a movie ticket (or buy the Blu-ray/DVD). Compared to the cost of legal risk, a concert ticket, movie ticket, or disc is minuscule. I put it like this: If you can afford the annual cost of cellphone/internet service, you can afford any of the three options above.
Anyone with a brain could’ve known this was going to happen. It’s one thing to upload concert footage because only the people there got to experience it. This a movie you could’ve bought on DVD or saw in theaters and accessible to everyone. Babymetal doesn’t lose money by people watching there live shows on TH-cam. Babymetal DOES lose money by people watching there movie on TH-cam because now those people arnt buying there dvd or going to the theater. Completly idiotic move by the channel
Only five people in the theater when I went and I think I was the only fan there. It was on too many screens. One per city is enough. And it wasn't on any screens in Canada. It was edited like an MV and got a lot of complaints for it. I wonder if that will affect sales to people that are used to concert editing?
Yea, this channel has been pushing its luck for some time now. They should have known better for uploading an official theatrical release. Not even a reaction or fancam but the official Legend 43 performance was sucide. As this falls into a studio release issue here. Babymetal has been pretty lax but this was out of their hands. Guess we will just have to accept the official channel now unfortunately. Word to the wise as you fly to close to the sun you get burned!!
While I agree that uploading something that is in theatre is just plain stupid, I do have to disagree with your stance on movies theatres. It costs a lot now. For example, Legend 43 wasn't shown here, closest was Montreal which is 3 hours away so either take a bus for $120 there and another $10 or so for the city bus or use about $150 of gas and then $40 for the parking, shill out $25 for the ticket and $8 for just a water bottle. Even going to a movie theatre in my hometown can be very expensive. Last movie I saw in 1 was Godzilla Minus 1 in Nov 2023 and that was almost $30 of gas to go and come back $30 for the parking, the $25 ticket and almost $30 for popcorn and soda. I paid less to get the Blu-Ray directly shipped from Japan when it released. Gone are the days when everyone would go see a movie every week. It has become a luxury outing and forget about it if you are a family of 4, just tickets and snacks will be nearly $150
That sounds very expensive. I can see why people will turn to piracy to get access to the content, but... that of course comes with potential consequences. It would be much cooler if Amuse offered an option to stream it on TH-cam.
Damn, to think we been blessed with three amazing collabs this year (Leave It All Behind, RATATATA, and Bekhauf) then before closing the year they shut down where I always suggest reactors where to pick videos but I definitely not blaming Amuse here.
If you can't afford to see it, then you have to work on your situation . It's not anyone else's fault. If you are a fan, then you want them to be as successful as possible.

I think Babymetal staff actually put concert footage on Prime Video, but only made it available in Japan! Also, they most of the official stuff doesn't have translated subs, so you'd have to go to some website to see them.
AJ Heartley here on YT has done fine explanation videos for more than 40 BM songs. Not the same as having subs with the video, but on the other side he gives lots of cultural context and has a keen eye for minor details in live performances that carry meaning. I stringly recommend checking himm out.
The band put on amazing concerts, they dont just stand there and sing/play instruments, it is theater. Even the small concerts. BM give a lot to the fans, buy their stuff, dont bootleg it. If nothing else you can imagine that next plushy/soft toy for Moa was bought with the money you paid for that theatre ticket/DVD.
They should have stuck to posting song clips they were pretty much leaving the channel alone, aside from the copyright claim which is only fair seeing as majority videos aren't changed in a sufficient manor. Posting an entire concert was crossing the line in my opinion, regardless of your opinion on whether people can afford to get them it's wrong. I can't afford to get the concerts from Japan there's many things I can't afford in life, so I don't get them simple, we aren't entitled to these things or have a right to see them and because we can't afford them doesn't make it ok just to watch it for free anyway.
Amuse should do what For the Fox God did, upload their videos with subtitles, if some rando can do it, a company with hundreds of employees sure can. And I don’t mean content produced right now, Babymetal has been going for 14 years, I bought the Live at Budokan and Live at London blurays, and I’ve watched those shows for free before multiple times, those are very old shows, I wasn’t going to see anything new buying them. Also, buying from Japan directly it’s a pain, at least with how they behave at Customs, where they hold a package for weeks and charge extra for it way more than they should (VAT tax). Having Amazon distribute the Babymetal stuff would surely increase their sales overseas. Include subtitles in the dvd/BR and distribute on Amazon, damnit!
I totally afgree. Whatever the legal status was, For The Fox God provided something for the non-Japanese Kitsunes you couldn't get elsewhere, that is videos with decent subtitles. I was almost convinced that this channel actually was run by Amuse for marketing reasons.
Japancd is great 👍 There are solutions to the problem, but it costs money and people act like they can't afford 20 to 50 dollars when they got money for other BS. I do social work. I work with low income families, and you know what they got? They got money for movies and weed.
*I agree:* If Babymetal’s channel posted at least some of the full song performances and allowed reasonable reactions, “fan sites” such as FTFG wouldn’t need to exit. Which, to be fair, they have been doing lately with Legend MM and L43. *I disagree:* Buying merch and BluRays from A!Smart or CD Japan was an absolute breeze. Google translate the page, create account, purchase. Both my Legend MM and L43 showed up in record time (US), faster than some of my Amazon Prime lol. Yes, shipping is expensive though, comparatively.
I am new. But i absolutely love SuMetal i just bought my passport so i can to Europe and watch their concerts in May 2025. So amazing. So beautiful. I love them! Also, ya pay for it. If you cant afford it, get a job.
I support the band and pay for their stuff. For those outside japan that day it is too difficult, i buy from JapanCD with prepaid import tax paid on purchase. They are completely above board, reliable, all in English. It is sent out in 1-2 days and arrives in 3-4 days very well packaged. You cannot use the excuse that it is difficult to buy. The blue ray is Dolby atmos and sounds fantastic. Just buy it.
One thing is reacting to songs, but uploading a whole movie that is just released is a different story. Imagine what Disney would do to you if you upload the last Star Wars movie to YT a week after the release. Having your channel closed would be probably the least of your problems. I'm not a big fan of capitalism, but what is fair, is fair. I had the movie suggested by YT a couple weeks ago and I was "cool, I have to watch it at some point", but I never did dammit. I wish I had cause in my case is not as much for the money but the high probability it will never make it to the two theaters of my small town. Well, it will be available at some point, no big deal in waiting a bit.
Just opened my playlist and saw the videos were deleted 😭 they were such great quality with subtitles too. so sad 😭 they're coming to my country next year, I hope I get to see them!
If you dont give the bands time to earn their money from movie tickets/dvds then they wont make any more. i loved FTFG channel for great videos, but they should be at least 6months after the event. The whole Legend 43 posting was nuts & asking to be nuked. Yep just because you cant afford it doesnt mean you are entitled to see a piracy of it. You just have to imagine if it was you in the band and all your stuff was being shown for free. agree the movie does not seem to have been marketed well. plus if you are a fan you want Babymetal to be successful and make $$$ for themselves.
Dude really you don't understand how alot of peoples situations are not being able to afford a movie ticket is a very real and very common problem and people on disability like me can't do extra jobs on the side to get extra money and also another thing is the movie didn't go to every theater for some people they would have to drive an hour or so to see it the theater here didn't get the movie
Damn that sucks! With how popular reactions are these days, and frankly, how they can help any band’s exposure, I really think there needs to be a better system to honor the original creator’s copy rights while allowing reactions to take place. This can also apply to any 3rd party that may have “partial” rights as well. Would make it a lot clearer to what’s allowed / not allowed, and save everyone grief. Just my 2 cents.
How does this hurt Babymetal? You mean they're not going to earn off of ad revenue? Amuse is not interested in freeloaders that aren't willing to pay to play.
In this instance it helps to protect their product. I doubt they made a profit on the Okinawa Show. Okinawa is far away. A big logistics expense. The profit was always going to be in the Blu-ray sales. And a lot of people aren't going to buy it if they can see it for free. Now you're right if you're talking about Amuse striking reactions to videos that BM already has on their channel for free.

Yeah you don’t get to steal intellectual &/or financial assets from a band. The dude had legend 43 uploaded and it’s still in cinemas……not cool.
If you upload single Songs ok, but a whole Show? Come on^^
Just opened my playlist and saw the videos were deleted 😭 they were such great quality with subtitles too. so sad 😭
they're coming to my country next year, I hope I get to see them!
I'm so sad 😥
Dude, we're talking about $20. Sorry, that is just ridiculous.
I'll add my 2 cents: 👍 Right On! 🖖❤
It wasn’t a reaction channel. They uploaded the latest blue-rays/dvds with subtitles to their channel without any transformation.
I'm often amazed how much they do allow when it comes to videos on TH-cam.
pretty certain the full movie was on an other channel.,
@@autohmae it was, but that’s gone too.
@@lordsheogorath-bz5ti OK, so it was both, OK
What I don't understand is why they only realized if I think I had videos from 2 or 4 years old uploaded and they barely saw the channel
I understand why they did it but I think Amuse need to realise this actually hurts their own product.
How does this hurt Babymetal? You mean they're not going to earn off of ad revenue?
Amuse is not interested in freeloaders that aren't willing to pay to play.
@@rantandchill9503 Exposure. Plain and simple.
The legend 43 movie was not played at any theatres near me. I live in northern California. East bay to be exact so i was not able to see it. 😭
Same here think he doesn't realize the movie didn't go to every theater
Sucks for you, but it still doesn't justify it.
Perhaps there is a plan for streaming the movie?
I think you can still get it at CDJapan. Ships fast and not crazy expensive either.
He simply uploaded stuff that wasn’t his, so that’s what happens on YT.
