  • Enjoy! Comment if you got any questions! :)
Ingredients: Your basic birdseed, oats, flour, honey, water and millet.
Instructions: Mix 2 tablespoons of birdseed, 2 tablespoons of oats and 1 tablespoon of flour together.
Then add ½ Tablespoon of water and give it a quick mix.
Then add 1 tablespoon of honey and mix untill it's fully incorporated. It should be like a dough and if it's not, just add more water or flour. The dough should be easy to work with and not too sticky.
Then roll small balls and put them on a baking sheet.

Okay, because everyone is arguing about honey here, I'm going to try to clear some things up.
Honey is not healthy for birds. But that does not mean they will die if they eat it. In fact, many treats and food you buy for your birds have honey in it. However, birds should not be given anything too sugary. A little bit of honey once in a while can be alright; that being said, though, it is wise to avoid honey anyways. Honey is not part of a bird's diet, and some birds may get sick. Just be careful about what you're willing to risk.

This was super fun to do! We just put it in the oven. I hope my budgies enjoy them! I made two batches, because I tried a bit of it before we cooked it and it was really nice. Unappealing, but sweet. I’m going to do this every Saturday for Kiwi and Khyle, I think they’ll be happy. It was so quick to prepare, a lovely thing to do for your birds when your bored!

I’ve found you can use dried apricots in food processor to get stuff to stick instead of use of honey!!but I buy unsweetened and unsulfured from health food store till I got a dehydrating machine. I also use mostly pellets in my diy nutriberries with only a bit of seed as all my birds are on a pelleted diet as seeds can be bad long term as main food source

tip: There is amazon and they sell all types of bird food and they are very good for budgies and cokatails ( if i spell it right cause I am not form US or UK) and they even sell toys and cages for them!and if you want ot make homemade just give them fruits, they are healtyer than seeds and here is another thing,pakaeets/budgies can drink tea (: Mint tea and other types of tea ( just google and ifnd the tea) btw,if your budgie is sick here is how to know: they are super fluffy and theyre tail is going up and down very often ( I hope not it means rarely) theyre tail goes up and down very fast or medium,a way to make them healty: There are vets in this world (: ( to food it includes half of the yellow part of an boiled egg but dont put salt or other types of things on it,and I recomand an natural egg from a farm chicken because this is what i feed my parakeet and he got well in a few months)

Instead of white flour use wheat flour and use chopped apricots, it's a good binding agent & healthy for birds ❤

I have been using this recipe for a while now, and none of my birds have gotten sick, I even used all purpose flour once, and nothing happened at all. My birds love this recipe a lot. I suggest you add small bits of dried fruits such as, apricots or raisins, it's a healthier choice, plus they really seem to like it 😊

FYI, honey is perfectly safe for occasion treats, AS LONG as it is Pasteurized honey. Never use raw/unpasteurized honey. Also as long as it is heated to the point of of being caramelized (such as using it in the way she uses it in this video, in an oven).

This is okay as a small treat a couple of times a week... not every day. Also it has to be pasurized honey, raw honey has botulism, which is why babies can't have raw honey, same with birds. Pasteurization takes out the bad bacteria.
