The cotton wool should not have been placed on the bench, and the inoculating loop should have been flamed before the lid was taped to the petri dish. Additionally, the petri dish should have been labelled BEFORE beginning the streak.

This is used in pharmacy to assure that the drugs we give especially IV parenterals are completely sterile and safe for immunocompromized patients 😊😊
