Dorian is one of my hero's. He was the guest poser for my first show back in 93 as a teen. He was in the middle of bulking for his Flex mag layout, he was huge. Two years later he guest posed the same show again, but I was working for the promoter and got to really talk to him and hang out with him which was really cool. In 2000 me and my friends took a road trip to California and we ran into him at Alcatraz of all places. I went to talk to him and he remembered me which was really cool. Such a cool dude!!!

Could someone sum up what his appeal is, in a nutshell, what he's known for, what his favorite subjects are ? Apparently he's quite big, as in, he has done _lots_ of interviews (if this one is #989) and has a tremendously large audience (almost 2 million views for a 3 hours interview, while other interviews with D. Yates I watched recently had much less than that, for instance the London Real one which is 1h40 and has a bit less than 700.000, so his name alone can't explain that high figure).
Could you also list a few particularly good / notable interviews he's made ? Thanks !

Says he only took 1 gram of steroids TOTAL!
If you fuckin believe he only took 1 gram of gear total you're crazy naive with Steroids use.
There's guys using 10+ grams right now who don't have his size.
Genius? He's a graduated liar I can tell you that for a fact!
In fact here's what he said he used specifically. Pay attention to the fact that this is easily what a beginner today would start with and a 150lb man would go to 170lbs. Dorian is lying saying he became fuckin superman. This is so far below what would be considered an advanced cycle it's a TOTAL joke!
      WEEKLY
      TEST PROP 300mg
      TRENBOLONE 152mg
      PRIMOBOLAN 500mg
      DAILY
      ANAVAR 50mg
      GROWTH HORMONE 8IU
I typically also did three 8 wk cycles in the off season and those would be made up of basics like deca and dbol. I would do 4 wks at peak dosage then taper down over the next 4 wks before taking 4 wks off and repeating. Here is the typical 4 wk peak off season cycle:
      WEEKLY
      TESTOSTERONE 750mg
      DECA 500mg
      DAILY
      D.BOL 50mg
      He's lying his ass off.

I'd say weight lighting rather than " body building" & then that statement is really true. Genetically Westerners are predispositioned to excel in weight lifting/ strength over sports that are based on speed/ running or flexibility. Evolving in colder climates required Westerners to collect & carry firewood, get ice/ snow for water, etc. Even women of Northern European ancestry can gain a surprising amount of strength, & are fairly unique in that they fought alongside male warriors in shieldwalls & helped row ships

Bodybuilding has the rep of being a very shallow, douchy pursuit. Often (not always) for good reason. Dorian Yates is a deep, open, thoughtful, and honest human being. And easily a role model

    • @isaaca1036
      @isaaca1036 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

It has a bad rep but its perspective. It takes alot of dedication, motivation, consistence and persistence to sculpt your own body like an artist. It's a physical artform in that you feel the pain, the sweat, the glory of meeting your benchmarks/goals.. It's great..
However, steroids have always been the x factor in the bodybuilding world..
As far as the "Dorian Yates is .." comments that are littered throughout.. He's an old man now and has seen and done alot of things in life.. of course hew ould be humble and well spoken.. WHat the fuck do you expect? He's a stand up individual and a lot of his life was being a personal trainer.
Try meeting him in his young days.. alot of dudes gave no fucks back then..
The reason why those comments bug me is because people act as if they have never encountered many normal people in their life.. -.- its pathetic.

Dorian Yates (nicknamed "The Shadow" because he'd just come out of nowhere, barely spoke, kicked ass and leave) is one of bodybuilding's more awesome physiques if not the most awesome...but he is most certainly THE brightest mind of the sport, with eloquent expression and a philosophy of the responsible and sensible individual going for it in life for himself and the world at large. Everyone should listen to his expression, bodybuilding enthusiasts or not.
