    This video clarifies a lot of things.
    Knowing when things are explained from the point of view of ahamkaram or of the swarupa avoids a lot of confusion.
    I think the aim of this vada is to help us turn inward and not to affirm a theory of the world. In ajata state there is no jiva.

    Hi Michael namaskaram I’ve listened to scores of hours of your YT talks and don’t recall you ever answering questions on your Chapter 7 “the Illusion of Time and Space” in reference to Sri Bhagavan’s teachings. I would love to hear you explain this subject in more depth in a future video. If you have already included this in a talk, can you please refer me where to look? Grateful thanks 🙏

    If ego is what makes us see a world, then if one killed the ego, let's say, then how would this former-ego now see the world appearance? If there is no ego, and ego is what makes duality and appearance, then how can it be understood that one would be able to perceive a world, then what actually exists at that point, is the Absolute, or pure awareness only? No world. No ego. If ego does not arise, then how does the appearance of the world appear? Once we have seen the rope, how would we see the snake?

    🙏 When the false dam that seems to separate one from another crumbles then the love that we hold back for ourselves and the small amounts we let through to those we love (out iof self interest ) then our love surges out to immerse All .🙏🕉️

    • @johnmcdonald260
      @johnmcdonald260 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But there are no "All"! Our love can never immerse all but only ourself.
      Loving "all" is an imagination and not Bhagavan's path.
      In fact there is no such thing as "loving", self is itself love however never immerses anything.
      That should be clear.

    No teacher of Ramana’s teachings ever give a straight answer to this question. I’ve asked all… No response, just jibber jabber. Here’s the question once again….
    Being that the one writing this (Ego/Jiva) perceives a world, how can Ek Jiva be true and the one writing this not be the only Jiva? The only one that is having an apparent experience?
    Ek Jiva would mean that Michael James is a character in my dream, devoid of any real internal content, and not actually living a life somewhere (not even on relative terms).
    If there is one dreamer, only that dreamer experiences anything at all.
    If Ek Jiva is correct, then how can it be otherwise?

    • @ratinhoembondeiro646
      @ratinhoembondeiro646 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Eka-jiva is a metaphysical too' to turn oneself inward for spiritual seekers to find our true nature. It is not a description of the world and how we perceive it. Michael implicitly says it in the video. So eka-jiva is not really true as there is no really a jiva from the ''absolute" point of view. But it is helpful to think of eka-jiva for meditation practice toturn inward.
      I was going to disagree witb Michael but he actually clarifies it in the video.

      No either waking is like a dream or it is not. When I wake up from my dream the people in my dream cease to exist as well does my dream body. Yet I still exist and have experience, while all others only appeared to exist and have an experience. All these concepts and mental gymnastics are ridiculous. It is a simple question that should have a simple answer.

  • @whatisthis-y8w
    @whatisthis-y8w 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    This is nonsense. Either there are other minds (call it the one mind compartmentalized) who perceive this body when this body perceives them, or there are not. In a dream no entities actually see the dream body that is the apparent instrument through which awareness sees them. They behave as if they do, but they do not. If waking and dream be the same, then all apparent others are like characters on a TV, the one watching the screen being the only body perceiving anything. How can there be any middle ground if Ek Jiva be true? If it’s a concept to be used as practice then fine, but there is a high risk of insanity that comes along with it. If ultimately true, then Ramana is no different than the guy at the burger joint in my dream last night, only he is telling me that I’m dreaming while the burger joint guy is not.

      MJ just said Eka-jiva is a practical concept to turn inward. Ramana himself said that there was no use in believing what he said if you don't find out for yourself.
      A lot of the vada in Indian non-dual traditions are used for the practice of meditation.
      For everyday life, you don't need a vada. It's happening right there.

      @@ratinhoembondeiro646Not interested in concepts or methods, I’m interested in the truth. Do apparent others have an experience? Or are they devoid of experience like a person in my dream or an NPC in a video game. Very simple, that is all…

      I don't believe in Eka-jiva so I can't really help you. Ramana behaved like a normal human being with people. It's those who try to make a dogma of what he might have said or interpreted that risk insanity.

      Besides this "I am" is a pure heresy. 2 words related to the symbolic register hence "language". I'd have named it "the signifier of lack in the Other" for instance, to pinpoint the Real, different from reality which is part of fantasy.
      Probably this "I am" in Tamil was a pure signifier for Ramana, something linked to the cause of his unconscious desire.
      It'd triggered sth huge.
