When people take the most stereotyped version of autism and use it as their personality 🤡

What do you believe was made into a personality?

“I wanna ask you something. Can I stim with you?” Stimming isn’t something you control, it’s Munchausen's and people make it their whole quirky personality… I have autistic family, I grew up teaching special ed summer school and care providing with my mom who has her doctorate in special ed and teaches it. People will take the stereotypical traits of “stimming” “sensory issues” and “social awkwardness” to make it their cute little neurodivergent personality… there’s so many other traits but it’s weird how everyone now a days seems to show the 3 most stereotyped ones?
Edit: I didn’t mean stimming IS munchausens, I meant the people who claim to be able to control it and “omg stim with me!”… most if not all of the people in my life with autism get embarrassed of their stims once in a while but guess what, there’s no masking… they sometimes don’t even realize they’re doing it…

@Checkerboard_floor ah fellow family of autistics. Yeah then you should remember that the tism is a spectrum and I can control most stims but I need to manually do them so I don't overload myself or underload myself. The script doesn't make the listener make it their whole personality. Seeing as the only noticeable listener lines are yes and nos. The voice actor (me) is portrayed as someone who doesn't know the nitty gritty details of stimming and how it works. But wants to be apart of what makes their partner happy and wants to give stimming (a trait that isn't only for autism or adhd and can be/needs to be done by anyone even nurotypicals) a try to also help their partner feel less shy about it. Turtleshark (creator of scipt) in my opinion portrayed this very well. Sorry to hear that you feel as though it was their whole personality from this little clip of these characters lives :
