- In this episode of Central Hall, Kapil Sibal discusses with a panel of leading independent-minded lawyers the problem of sitting judges developing political links. Recently, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay quit the Calcutta High Court and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. While on the bench too, his judgments, obiter and interviews generated controversy. How should the legal community respond in such cases? And is it ever possible to insulate the judiciary from politics? Listen in to Sibal’s conversation with Meenakshi Arora, Prashant Bhushan and Dushyant Dave.

Not only frustrated, despite being sold-out, Deep State Stooges they are wondering about _WHY_ Soros's might is not working, that's why they are frustrated. 🤣🤣
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
We need more courageous lawyers and judges. Hope these conversations are seen by other senior judges and lawyers including the Chief Justices of States.
Gentleman's argument! Amazing! Everyone MUST watch.
High tea is missing..
Thanku
Having got used to godi media for a long time, this conversation is so refreshing. They are able to speak freely and express differences respectfully.
Differ with Bhushan on unfounded fear. Hope he remembers Justice Loya.
Yes but I agree with Bhushan otherwise we will become another Iran Russia China. As Dushant mentioned someone has to pay a price for Honesty.
Best Panel of Legal Minds

Honest, dedicated and committed people. It was so refreshing listening to them.
All are legends...... dignified.....lovable and best humans.
What an educative talk, thank you the Wire
Watch from 14:30 to 17:01 - Real gentleman's -- how respectfully disagree and come to the logical conclusion of the argument. Hats off!
Ms. Arora hit the nail on the head when she talked about character building. Schools used to teach students about morals, obeying, respect and the importance of the law, in addition to fairness to our fellow beings. Somewhere we seem to have lost our path and are following a blind urge to make or save money at all costs, with the result that we as a civil society give less importance to rules, laws and even our fellow beings, shunning all notions of fairness. I think our "education" system has completely failed us, and we are seeing the results, where "might is right" and everything else be dam ned.
Yes, you are right.
Very nicely put
I am learning what learned discussion looks like. Thank you, Sibal shahb
Very knowledgeable and informative discussion.🙏🙏🙏
This country will live grateful to these people who are blowing the whistle when things are going wrong . I respect their courage and their attitude in sailing against the tide.
only episodes i wait for nowadays.
Very good discussion.
Wow, Dave sir. You said what needs to be said.
You said whatever is spoken in hush, hush tones.
Salute to you, sir!
Excellent discussion. Scared for the future of this country.
Thanks to the participants and The Wire for bringing such nice discussions.
Enlightening. Dignified panel. Love, respect and regards from Kerala ❤
Thank you so much for this discussion.Much needed . We should stand only with Country and Judiciary not with these doggla politicians.
Thank you team WIRE for such informative and educative talk... Such productive dialogues and discussion s are very important for healthy democracy.
Very good and balanced discussion. The message is very positive and solution oriented. This discussion should be forwarded to the SC judges.
I also happen to agree with Prashant Bhusan. This psychological fear of repercussions like demotion must be avoided as the public are in support. As Prashant pointed out he continues in his path to the Truth and the Constitution. If the named judges did not achieve success in the careers , a personal altruistic success surely trumps that.
Well said , sibbal sir.
As long a the executive is part of the appointments, it will not work well for the Judiciary.
Salute!
Bless you all
May God protect you and give you the strength and health to fight this evil
Very important conversation. Needs to be shared and discussed widely in high schools and colleges.
Very important discussion for Indian democracy and I think we should all know for all Indian citizens.
Excellent.
We want more of this kind of discussion on every facet of life. Let the leaders of civil society come forward and take the lead. General people will be the beneficiaries.
Ask these superbright folks why so many poor people are in our jails because they cannot afford the bail money. Money-based bail, I submit, is not constitutional. Your witness Shree Arora, Bhushan, Dave, and Sibal.
A very thought provocating discussion. Thanks you all.
It's a pleasure to see Kapil Sibbal in a different role 😊
Brilliant discussion and pleasure having such a amazing minds.
What a fantastic, illuminating video it is !!!!!! Hats off to you and, encore!

Great conversation.
Sibal Sir great endeavor and initiative bring on more such initiatives
THE JUDICIARY SHOULD BE THE DEFENDER OF DEMOCRACY.
HATS OFF TO MR SBAL AND PARTICIPANTS OF THIS DISCUSSION.
Thank you, Sirs
And Madam hahaha
All four of you are excellent in the field of justice and your views are fiercely independent. Ms Meenakshi Arora's decision not to accept judgeship in the SC is commendable. Earlier one is used to mention it as Honourable Supreme court but of late, it has lost the confidence of the general public.
Having such farsighted Judges and similar personalities in Rajya Sabha is necessary. This is how it should be and, is in the Rajya Sabha equivalent of many developed countries countries.Helps in unbiased criticism of the Lok Sabha.
Very good and eye opening discussion. Please have more such discussions to make the public know the reality.
Exactly what Ms. Arora says. No character building at school level. In convent school in the earlier times they had moral education and what is ethically good and what was bad. But today we find only sucessful people coming out of schools but not ethically strong ones.
ok can i higlight this comment!
Wire on the top 👌, best wishes 👌 👏

This is incredible interview. Indian judiciary is fully being exploited. I'm watching from California. Please keep on protecting the Indian democracy.
Sibal and others should take initiative for the betterment of this country
Dave Saab Very Nice Speech by U
Extraordinary discussion on judiciary..
You forgot the name of Arun Misra who was appointed head of human rights commission fot favouring Adani in 40 odd cases.
They have mentioned about Mr Arun Mishra's appointment to NHRC.
Congratulates to people like u sir for working in the direction of truth and humanity tirelessly !

As democracy,
Judiciary is at low point except CJI current

Such wise personalities it's refreshing
Wonderful. Salam . for this. Knoowledge
Preventing corruption in India's judiciary demands a holistic approach. Strengthening accountability, judicial reforms, transparency measures, ethics training, whistleblower protection, financial disclosure, tech integration, civil society oversight, legal frameworks, and judicial independence are key. 🇮🇳
Thanks for the very nice discusstion
Beautiful conversation. We have an option to get anything of our choice like if we want to buy a cup of tea, we can have it from this shop or that shop. But for justice we have no option. We must go to our designated courts. So the responsibility of Judiciary is much greater. But the truth is that Indians now have lost all trust on the Judiciary. So it is the Judiciary's job now to restore the Indian people's trust in Judiciary.
Topic of vital importance for point of good bad or corrupt governanceqqq
Much needed discussion . Every citizen must hear this.As the judiciary system is the strongest pillar of democracy..it upholds the democracy.
very well narrated;
STRONG CHARACTER IS Vital from bottom of the pyramid;
Values; principles; Ethics; Morals are to be part of INDIAN DNA.
Competence and integrity
Thank you so much, wonderful discussion.
Brilliant 4 minds there❤
I hope these points brought up by these learned and respected gentlemen are spread all over the country 🙏
Could we include Ladies too. The Lady discussed a very important point about parents being challenged by their children. I did in the late sixties.
Simply excellent, a conversation of very high standard and building hope and expectations, that some days the judiciary and lawyers fraternity will rise above petty ambitions.
