We should all petition Netflix, Hulu and other streaming channels to carry Mr. Rogers re-runs. There are no kids shows out there these days that can come close to having the impact on new generations as his old shows can. I wish I'd had Mr Rogers' Neighborhood to show my son as he was growing up (he's too old to get into them now). Even if the clothes are outdated, I think he'd still resonate with little ones today.

Their was once a blind girl who watched Mr Rodger’s show. She heard that Mr Rodger’s had an fish, and she was worried Mr. Rodgers wasn’t feeding him. So, When Mr Rodgers would feed the fish, he would always say he was feeding the fish. Just for her. Mr Rodgers was such a beautiful man. He’ll forever be our neighbor!

It was hard to hold back tears during the documentary: Won't You be My Neighbor. I didn't really cry until the end. The documentary made me a softer person in not to take life so seriously. There is so much Love to give and to inspire others.

I hope you will understand.' It was something that I fully did understand and thusly, have respected his wish for it to remain private. Perhaps that is why I could not openly share them. I might make some pictures of the things I received from him, but the contents of the letters I wish to keep private because they are comments of very personal stories that I shared with him.

wow. I never knew he did that. I used to watch him as a kid in the 80s and the reruns when I was a teen. He was a one- of-a- kind human being with an AMAZING one-of-a-kind show.
It was a bit different. One of the chapters was using a voice actor that sounded like him to send out robocalls raising money. Roger's production company sued for copyright violation and got a restraining order forcing the Klan to turn over the tapes and to stop making the calls. A quick google should pull it right up and with a lot of misinformation.
When he said "I like you just the way you are", I instantly broke down in tears. I've been having some mental health issues recently, and this meant the world to me.

In the country where I grew up, there was no Mr Rogers; it was my first time hearing it, and it makes it very clear why this man was so important in so many peoples' lives.

I didn't grow up watching him, I only found out about him several months ago because of Tom Hanks. I'm so intrigued by his idea that I watch several videos of him, and I can't stop my tears. It's just keep flowing. I guess his sincerity and love can be felt even through the screens.

He was a rare and gentle soul who loved us for who we were and told us that we were special. There will literally never be another man like him again. I feel happy knowing I got to watch him in my lifetime.

I had Fred Rogers in my daily life . I was born in '64, so I was right in the perfect demographic, and it was really perfect. When my dad died, I was only 12 and it was terrifying. Even though I was very old for the neighborhood, I felt that it was one place I still belonged.
I had Mr. Rogers too. 😊 I was born in '92 and my mom said that every time he'd talk to the audience via the TV, I would talk back to him like he was in the living room with me. 😂
Mr. Rogers voice was so comforting. He was one of the reasons why I always try to be a good person. My childhood was the best when I watched him I walked away feeling good about myself and I never looked at others differently all because of mr. Rogers. Dana says- I still can't watch clips of Mr Rogers without crying. As a child of a broken home who watched his show, he made me feel safe and secure and understood. He made me feel like I was good enough, just like I was. He obviously had a huge impact on all the children who once watched his shows, and the absence of his kind heart, mind and voice really shows in the generations who have come since then. He taught common decency, how to love everyone- even if they are different or we don't agree. He taught us how to love ourselves and be kind to ourselves, without doing so at the expense of others. He taught us to appreciate everything and wonder at the little things in life. What a wonderful, God-fearing man he was. The people who never knew him or his show really missed out on something life-changing and wonderful.
The worst thing anyone can find is a VERY OUT OF CONTEXT photo of him flipping off an audience of children, while laughing. XD It was completely unintentional. He was teaching them to count on their fingers on camera, and the method he used left him with both of his middle fingers up when he got to the number "two". He had a laugh at himself about it as he knew it was an obscene gesture but he knew the kids wouldn't recognize it either. XD The man was so pure. I miss him dearly.

Another great moment is when Mr Rogers (a deeply committed Christian) shared a stage with Bill Nye (a stanch Atheist) about baking soda and vinegar chemical reactions. They were polite to each other and were able to be civil.
I didn't know Bill Nye was an atheist. But that's one of the things that made Bill Nye just as great. He educated kids and adults like without forcing any of HIS beliefs down anyone's throat either.

If you haven't seen the clip where LeVar was a guest on Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, you should. Reading Rainbow was also a wonderful show way back when. Hmm,... maybe a collaboration of the two. Or something totally new. Either way, same heart, same warmth, same love and same messages, just for a new time and new audience.
K1productions "Reading Rainbow" got me into "ST:TNG", which is the only "Star [x]" anything I've ever watched. Capt. Picard is my captain because of that.

I love Mister Rogers neighborhood. He was such a positive person and had such a gentle manner. He dealt with many difficult topics. I lost my mom my mom at 7yrs age. I appreciate his show and the support it gave me at that time.
Mr. Rogers was just an amazing human being. One of the best human beings that has ever graced this planet. My childhood was profoundly affected by him for the better and I still remember so much of what he taught me. He was the friend of entire generations of children and he'll not soon be forgotten.

He was an ordained Presbyterian minister, but NEVER forced his religion on others. He was able to reach so many people by simply being a compassionate human being.

I watched Mr. Rogers every day when I was a young girl. Now, I have been a public school teacher for 23 years and see the true contrast in the way we treat each other every day. It is so very tragic. We need more Fred Rogers in the WORLD....
Every time I hear his voice it just makes me cry in the best way. He made me feel like I was wanted and loved at a time that I never experienced that and it was absolutely life-changing. Such an incredible person.
I never had him in my life until now, and I'm 25 yeard old. However, ever since I got to know about him, the sincerity in his eyes and genuine care in his words have made me cry like a baby. Simple words like "you are special" manage to touch something inside me, and I feel so happy to have footage of a human being like him. I envy all children who had the opportunity to grow with him, and I hope that he's managed to pass his message on to at least one of them.
This absolutely touches yet breaks my heart at the same time. Fred was someone we all needed in our lives. Notice that I did not call him Mr. Rogers because he was my friend. He was all of our friends. He was so unique and special and the world just isnt the same without him now. Take 10 seconds to think about about Fred. I really loved Mr Rogers. I really believe that we need Mr Rogers these days. Things are harder. So much hostility division and problems. He was calming and helpful as well as someone who talked to us and wasn't difficult to hear from.Even as an adult, people still sometimes watch his shows on here. We need Mr Rogers on some of the streaming services so people can watch it. I don't know how to make it happen but it would be great and helpful too.

Had the priviledge of watching his show in 2001 on a J1 Visa to USA. My daughter then 3 year old, always look forward to his show. Brings nostlagia (now that my daughter is 23 years old) when we were recalling her favorite tv shows. Thank you Mr Rogers.
We need more people like Mr. Rogers, in today's world where people are horrible to each other we need someone who can show people how to treat each other.
His intro was always so comforting. And that was his intent. I sometimes watch his intro on TH-cam as a way to ground myself when life gets hectic. He walked the beautiful line of talking to children about heavy topics in a way they can understand without talking down. I remember when I heard he'd died, I went to my room and just sat there in my bed for a little while.
I miss him so much. I wish I could’ve met him before his passing, it’s so amazing to have a hometown and childhood hero. It makes me proud to be from Pittsburgh, because we were so lucky to have such a rare gem of a human being.

I teach sophomores in high school, and they love Mr. Rogers! I played a video for them to introduce our multiculturalism unit, and they all became really nostalgic and talked about how they watched re-runs with their parents. Mr. Rogers still lives on and I think sometimes, we don't give kids today enough credit or lump them into a category. One of the best things I learned from Mr. Rogers is that every child has profound feelings and that we are all unique and should be given a voice. While there are plenty of teens who might say this, there are also any children today who would greatly benefit from an adult telling them "I like you just as you are."
Kids of my generation high key thought he was lame; every last one of us cried when he died. When he is shown to children, his themed shows still have a profound, positive impact on them. Kids in every generation are the same. They all have very deep feelings, and few words to express them until they've been carefully taught. Kids in your generation probably thought he was lame, too, until you grew up. Perspectives change. As corny as I found him sometimes as a kid, I loved his honesty, sincerity, sweetness, and that he encouraged learning and loving genuinely. These traits never go out of style with children of any generation.
I was too old to be a Mr. Rogers watcher but he certainly had an effect on my children. I really believe he was part of the reason both of my adult children are kind, caring people.

Heroes are hard to come by. I was born in 1969, and from the very first time I watched Mr. Rogers, King Friday, and Henrietta Pussycat, I was mesmerized. His message was so affirming, and his cadence was slow and thoughtful. He embodied love, acceptance, and taking a stand against evil. He was much more than a messenger of tolerance. He was also a strong man who was unafraid to support ideas and people he knew made the world a better place. What a beautiful and inspirational man. He is no longer part of this material world, but we can all try to be more like Fred Rogers.

Loved him growing up. Still love him. He never ran away from discussing the difficult subjects and always had a way of simplifying and breaking down those complex societal issues into more comprehensible parts. A great humanitarian... RIP we love you
He was a rare and gentle soul who loved us for who we were and told us that we were special. There will literally never be another man like him again. I feel happy knowing I got to watch him in my lifetime.

Mr. Rogers voice was so comforting. He was one of the reasons why I always try to be a good person. My childhood was the best when I watched him I walked away feeling good about myself and I never looked at others differently all because of mr. Rogers. This was a joy to watch now I’m crying tears of joy thinking about how he was a wonderful man in my life...

I lived in USA from 1988 to 1993, and during all this time we watched Mr. Roger’s neighborhood with my wife and kids. We shall never forget him. Ever! Many thanks for being such a wonderful neighbor.
Dana says- I still can't watch clips of Mr Rogers without crying. As a child of a broken home who watched his show, he made me feel safe and secure and understood. He made me feel like I was good enough, just like I was. He obviously had a huge impact on all the children who once watched his shows, and the absence of his kind heart, mind and voice really shows in the generations who have come since then. He taught common decency, how to love everyone- even if they are different or we don't agree. He taught us how to love ourselves and be kind to ourselves, without doing so at the expense of others. He taught us to appreciate everything and wonder at the little things in life. What a wonderful, God-fearing man he was. The people who never knew him or his show really missed out on something life-changing and wonderful.

The worst thing anyone can find is a VERY OUT OF CONTEXT photo of him flipping off an audience of children, while laughing. XD It was completely unintentional. He was teaching them to count on their fingers on camera, and the method he used left him with both of his middle fingers up when he got to the number "two". He had a laugh at himself about it as he knew it was an obscene gesture but he knew the kids wouldn't recognize it either. XD The man was so pure. I miss him dearly.

Another great moment is when Mr Rogers (a deeply committed Christian) shared a stage with Bill Nye (a stanch Atheist) about baking soda and vinegar chemical reactions. They were polite to each other and were able to be civil.
I didn't know Bill Nye was an atheist. But that's one of the things that made Bill Nye just as great. He educated kids and adults like without forcing any of HIS beliefs down anyone's throat either.

If you haven't seen the clip where LeVar was a guest on Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, you should. Reading Rainbow was also a wonderful show way back when. Hmm,... maybe a collaboration of the two. I love Mister Rogers neighborhood. He was such a positive person and had such a gentle manner. He dealt with many difficult topics. I lost my mom my mom at 7yrs age. I appreciate his show and the support it gave me at that time.
Mr. Rogers was just an amazing human being. One of the best human beings that has ever graced this planet. My childhood was profoundly affected by him for the better and I still remember so much of what he taught me. He was the friend of entire generations of children and he'll not soon be forgotten.

I watched Mr. Rogers every day when I was a young girl. Now, I have been a public school teacher for 23 years and see the true contrast in the way we treat each other every day. It is so very tragic. We need more Fred Rogers in the WORLD....

I've watched a video of the entire Senate hearing, and cried buckets the whole time. We didn't appreciate Mr Rogers when we had him.
Some of us did appreciate him knowing he wouldn’t be here forever.
But we did or we wouldn't miss him so much. ☺️
I never had him in my life until now, and I'm 25 yeard old. However, ever since I got to know about him, the sincerity in his eyes and genuine care in his words have made me cry like a baby. Simple words like "you are special" manage to touch something inside me, and I feel so happy to have footage of a human being like him. I envy all children who had the opportunity to grow with him, and I hope that he's managed to pass his message on to at least one of them.

I really loved Mr Rogers. I really believe that we need Mr Rogers these days. Things are harder. So much hostility division and problems. He was calming and helpful as well as someone who talked to us and wasn't difficult to hear from.Even as an adult, people still sometimes watch his shows on here. We need Mr Rogers on some of the streaming services so people can watch it. I don't know how to make it happen but it would be great and helpful too.

Chris Alvarez Actually my three year old loves Daniel Tiger which is a cartoon based off of the puppets on Mr. Rogers neighborhood and when I showed him the original he loved that too
I teach sophomores in high school, and they love Mr. Rogers! I played a video for them to introduce our multiculturalism unit, and they all became really nostalgic and talked about how they watched re-runs with their parents. Mr. Rogers still lives on and I think sometimes, we don't give kids today enough credit or lump them into a category. One of the best things I learned from Mr. Rogers is that every child has profound feelings and that we are all unique and should be given a voice. While there are plenty of teens who might say this, there are also any children today who would greatly benefit from an adult telling them "I like you just as you are."
You vastly underestimate kids today. They adore Mr Rogers. Stop thinking kids today are terrible and being one of those "back in my day" people.
Kids of my generation high key thought he was lame; every last one of us cried when he died. When he is shown to children, his themed shows still have a profound, positive impact on them. Kids in every generation are the same. They all have very deep feelings, and few words to express them until they've been carefully taught. Kids in your generation probably thought he was lame, too, until you grew up. Perspectives change. As corny as I found him sometimes as a kid, I loved his honesty, sincerity, sweetness, and that he encouraged learning and loving genuinely. These traits never go out of style with children of any generation.
Every time I watch something like this about Mr. Rogers I get emotional. What an incredible man. I which he was still here today.

Heroes are hard to come by. I was born in 1969, and from the very first time I watched Mr. Rogers, King Friday, and Henrietta Pussycat, I was mesmerized. His message was so affirming, and his cadence was slow and thoughtful. He embodied love, acceptance, and taking a stand against evil. He was much more than a messenger of tolerance. He was also a strong man who was unafraid to support ideas and people he knew made the world a better place. What a beautiful and inspirational man. He is no longer part of this material world, but we can all try to be more like Fred Rogers.
