Fun fact. The 1957 Chevrolet was nick named "The Black Widow" as it dominated in the 1957 season and it was banned shortly there after. It used fuel injection (instead of a carburetor), which was revolutionary at the time and thanks to it the Black Widow was by far the fastest in the Strictly Stock Division that year.
Fuel injection replaced carburetors only in 2012

12:37 Many years ago, my father took me to an old race shop in Mooresville. This car was being stored there, and in 2009 it had really seen better days. The lady that was running the shop saw 9 year old me standing near Davey's car and said "Don't touch it, that's the original dust." 😂

i checked the Hall off my bucket list back in April and it was a ton of fun, especially since it was only like a 2 hour drive. i got the highest level package, which had an audio tour, a free meal and $10 off in the gift shop, as well as unlimited access to the iRacing sim. for about $50, it was definitely worth every penny and every second
Fun fact darrell waltrip’s dad worked at the Pepsi plant So who knows that mountain Dow sponsorship could of came from there
His father inlaw got him the Gatorade deal.

Hey Eric at 11:25 you mentioned trunk numbers. They were mandatory until 1973. That was also the year that cubic inch markings on the hood became optional.
I was there about 4 months ago and they still changed somethings! I love that they change it every now and then and make every visit different

That Mtn Dew Darrel Waltrip car is one of my favorites. When I raced Bandoleros we painted my car just like it and even won the track championship that year.

Thank you iv wanted to go visit the HOF but never made it but now I can say I know what it looks like. Thank you again race fan since the 70s.
I went there 2 years ago with my automotive class, and my favorite part was the indoor racecar simulators, and the fast pitstop area...
I was able to visit the HOF in 2014. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a NASCAR fan, very very well done. Thank you Eric, for the update. 🇺🇸🏁🏆

I went to the Nascar Hall of Fame last October during the Charlotte roval weekend. They have the truck series anniversity on the bottom of Glory road.

I went to the Hall in April of 2018 and they had Dale Jr's Homestead car there instead of Jimmie's but they've relocated it since.
I went my first time shortly after you in 2019 and then went again in April, Martinsville weekend! I took my son too. He loved it
I always and I mean always love & look forward to these videos/Vlogs.
That blue Petty car is also signed by Dale Inman on the passenger door in the cockpit
glory road also get progressively higher banked as you go back in time and you can go up onto the banking in one section where its as steep as the super speedways so you can feel the angle that the cars drive on in the turns. Pretty cool stuff
I've never been there, I actually want to visit there one day, plus I like how the cars look
I went on the coke 600 weekend this year and had a whole weekend experience and got to see the first full capacity race since covid on Memorial Day weekend. It was an amazing weekend

Eric, The cars actually used to go a lot further back. That second set of stairs was to show the embankment level for Daytona. The hauler that you walked through used to be Jimmie Johnson themed with his car on the lift.

In 2014, the hauler (if it’s the same one) was an ex-Jimmie Johnson hauler. I asked how they put it in the museum. I was told they picked it up with a crane, then built the museum around it. 🤯

I mean, he was the curator. So it was his choice. I think he did a great representation of Champions.
You're correct Austin. I work here, and he's the first ever driver to pick the selection of cars, and their orders. These are his/Sr favorite all time races and wins!!

2002 Stewart Championship car is probably my favorite car there. And Pearsons blue/gold ford
Just a small naming correction, in Charlotte they don’t refer to it as downtown, but rather uptown. I know, weird. I’ve lived just outside Charlotte since 2019 and have noticed some other NC cities go with that naming as well. Anywho, NASCAR HOF is definitely a great place to visit!
I remember going there years ago and when we were going to leave chocolate Myers came out of the room where NASCAR Radio goes on
I went here last summer! I know nothing about the sport. But I still enjoyed myself! The simulator is SUPER fun, highly recommend doing it! I found that the history behind the sport the most interesting personally!

The location you were located in with the Decades of Champions is called Great Hall. You were standing on the compass that shows how far a few tracks are from the Hall.
On the wall inside Hall of Honors is called Spirals.... Those are the classes from each decade as well. Inside NASCAR has changed as well.

When we went for the Bristol dirt race we stopped at Charlotte for the hall of fame we went to the hotel across the street from the hall of fame it was amazing

The 2011 Tony Stewart car isn't just any car. That's the championship winning car from homestead! You can tell by the tape on the left front. 15:17 in the video.

Instead of having a floorplate saying "2065 miles to Riverside Raceway", it should say "2065 miles to a Holiday Inn Express and a Popeye's Chicken Restaurant" since that's basically what's there now.

Thought you'd like to know, Jack and his brother in law, who painted the car, insist that the name of the color is Corvette Gold 😂

If you get the chance, check out the IMS museum! I know you’re not a big IndyCar guy, but it’s just as good as the HoF. Plus you can see the Borg-Warner!
