Sonata Arctica are from Kemi Finland. The front man is Sir Tony Kakko who is Tuomas from Nightwish hiking buddy. Current line up is: Drums: Tommy Lead guitar: Elias Keytar/Keyboard/clean and harsh vocals: Henkka Bass: Pasi They have on TH-cam 2 live concerts. For The Sake of Revenge where you will see a very young Jani Liimatainen from Insomnium and The Dark Element. Live in Finland. On their channel are tour videos. My favourite is their Latin America tour. They have a new video about to drop soon, Dark Empath which is part of the Caleb saga. The Caleb Saga is a story of a guy with issues lol. I love this band because they are so genuine and humble. Tony has no brain filter and I love that he doesn't. Up to you what's next.
Sonata Arctica are fantastic, "Dont say a word, Paid in Full, Full Moon" are probably their biggest hits but they have a huge catalog. Tony Kakko the lead singer persuaded Tuomas not to end Nightwish when Tarja left, they are very good friends.
Lead singer Tony Kakko has been a very important friend for Tuomas. From what I have read, we owe a lot to Tony for helping Tuomas through the rough times. He was there for support which ultimately helped Tuomas from considering leaving Nightwish. They both disappear into nature for several days just to feel connected with the earth and unplug from technology.
If you wish to see one of their cool music video, then check ”Wolf & Raven”. However, have the energy drink nearby first, because it is true speed metal 😎 Sonata Arctica has many type of songs, but they often carry a story about some type of monsters, but the story can be also from the sad, monster perspective. Sonata Arctica is mixing various music styles by the story they are telling in the song. I highly recommend to check out the 5 different song combining story, unofficially known as ”Caleb saga”. It starts with a song ”End of this chapter”
If you don't mind there not being a video, my only suggestion to beat the Jani Stan's. My favourite song, No Dream Is Born To Die Jani Liimatainen ft Tony Kakko. Its Power Metal gold.
